A system and method for aligning and installing graphical dies onto an embossing press or foil stamping press is provided. The system includes a number of die support panels having a number of threaded openings disposed in columns and rows in a grid like fashion and identified with x and y axis indicia. The system also includes a number of dies with a number of apertures each identified with a pair of x and y axis indicia. Fasteners and indicia are used to align and attach the dies to the die support panels in a predetermined position. The system preferable further comprises one or more adjusters used to make minute positioning adjustments to the die after it is installed on the panel.

A sealing member (200) is a sheet-like member to seal a light-emitting unit of a light-emitting device. The sealing member (200) is cut into a shape including a corner (220) having a central angle θ that is larger than 180 degrees when the light-emitting unit of the light-emitting device is sealed. When the sealing member (200) is cut, irregularities occur in the thickness direction in a region (222: first region) having a predetermined width w from an edge of the corner (220). When the irregularities occur, sealability of the sealing member (200) is deteriorated. Here, when a curvature radius of the corner ((220)) is equal to or greater than the above-mentioned width w, occurrence of the above-mentioned irregularities is inhibited.

Die-cut lid and associated container and method

A die-cut lid (20) for closing a container is disclosed; the lid being formed from a flexible composite sheet material (30). The lid comprises a functional area (70) bearing human-readable and/or machine-readable data with the lid comprising one or more rigidifying indentations (50) to promote flatness of the functional area in a resting state of the lid. The one or more rigidifying indentations are selected from the group of: i) one or more encircling indentations that border the functional area; and/or ii) a planar indentation that encompasses the functional area. A lidded container (1) comprising such a die-cut lid and a method of forming a die-cut lid are also described.

Systems, apparatus and methods for forming metal strips into dies

A system for forming a metal strip into a die having a predetermined shape through a series of forming operations is described herein. The system includes a base configured to support the metal strip as the metal strip undergoes the series of forming operations; a feeding device configured to advance the metal strip between each forming operation of the series of forming operations and grip the metal strip during each forming operation; a bending device configured to bend a portion of the metal strip extending from the feeding device as one of the series of forming operations; a forming head configured to house a pair of forming tools and provide features to the portion of the metal strip extending from the feeding device as one of the series of forming operations using the one or more forming tools; a robotic arm configured to selectively provide the one or more forming tools to the forming head; and a computing unit in communication with the robotic arm and configured to transmit a control signal to cause the robotic arm to retrieve the pair of forming tools and provide the pair of forming tools to the forming head.

Label stacking machine and method

A method of making a pad of labels comprises: printing display information on a top surface of a substrate; affixing a first layer of lamination material to a bottom surface of the substrate; affixing a second layer of lamination material to the top surface of the substrate, the second layer of lamination material having a release coating applied to a top surface thereof; applying an adhesive strip to a bottom surface of the first layer of lamination material, the adhesive strip being covered by a liner material; cutting the substrate having first and second layers of lamination material affixed into at least one label; removing the liner material to expose the adhesive strip after cutting the substrate into at least one label; and arranging the labels into a pad of labels.

Reduced weight magnetic cylinder

A magnetizable cylinder has a cylinder body formed from a magnetizable material with an outer cylindrical surface configured to receive a flexible cutting die. The cylinder body has first and second axial ends spaced apart by the outer cylindrical surface and a hollow interior. First and second journals are joined to the cylinder body with interference fits. At least one of the first and second journals has a weep hole extending through the journal into the hollow interior of the cylinder body. The interference fit of the journals to the cylinder body result from thermal changes of at least one of the first journal, the second journal, and the cylinder body prior to joining the first journal to the cylinder body and the second journal the cylinder body.

Anvil cover installation method
