Multifunctional Crosslinkers: Compounds, Compositions, And Products Thereof
Multifunctional crosslinkers are a reaction product between a polyaziridine compound and two or more functionalized benzophenones. The polyaziridine compound is linked to the functionalized benzophenones through two or more reacted aziridine groups. Coating compositions, comprising: a polymer, and multifunctional crosslinkers. Coated medical devices, comprise a lubricious coating bonded adjacent to an exterior surface of the medical device. The lubricious coating is prepared by UV-curing a coating composition, wherein the coating composition comprises: a water/isopropyl alcohol (IPA) soluble polymer and/or a UV-curable polymer, and a water/IPA soluble multifunctional crosslinker.
Low Temperature Cured Silicone Lubricious Coatings
Novel, lubricious coatings for medical devices are disclosed. The coatings provide improved lubricity and durability and are readily applied in coating processes a low temperatures that do not deform the device. The present invention is also directed to a novel platinum catalyst for use in such coatings. The catalyst provides for rapid curing, while inhibiting cross-linking at ambient temperatures, thereby improving the production pot life of the coatings.
Thermally robust, electromagnetic interference compatible, devices for non-invasive and invasive surgery
Techniques to fabricate and use a nanocomposite coating that includes one or more nanotubes such as carbon nanotubes are disclosed. In some examples, a guidewire may include the nanocomposite material. The guidewire is immune to electromagnetic interference, is thermally robust, and is capable of accommodating inactive markers and active electronics.
System for surface modification by laser diffusion
A system for forming surface modified substrates includes a laser system, and a laser processing chamber. A laser scanner automatically controls a position of the laser beam or an x-y translating stage upon which the laser processing chamber is mounted thereon for scanning the laser beam relative to a substrate of material (M) having a bulk portion and an outer surface integrated with the bulk portion, and a coating including metal organic molecules including at least one metal X or particles of metal X on the outer surface. At laser-heated spots atoms of X from the metal coating diffuse into the outer surface to form a modified surface layer including both M and X. The modified surface layer has a thickness of 1 nm, and a 25° C. electrical conductivity ≥2.5% above or ≤2.5% below a 25° C. electrical conductivity in the bulk portion.
Treatment of asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease with anti-proliferate and anti-inflammatory drugs
Embodiments of the present invention provide a method for treatment of respiratory disorders such as asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and chronic sinusitis, including cystic fibrosis, interstitial fibrosis, chronic bronchitis, emphysema, bronchopulmonary dysplasia and neoplasia. The method involves administration, preferably oral, nasal or pulmonary administration, of anti-inflammatory and anti-proliferative drugs (rapamycin or paclitaxel and their analogues) and an additive.
Delivery of hydrophobic active agent particles
Embodiments of the invention include drug delivery coatings and devices including the same. In an embodiment, the invention includes a drug delivery coating including a polymeric layer. The polymeric layer can include a hydrophilic outer surface. The coating can also include a matrix contacting the hydrophilic outer surface. The matrix can include a particulate hydrophobic therapeutic agent and a cationic agent. The polymeric layer can further include a hydrophilic polymer having pendent photoreactive groups and a photo-crosslinker including two aryl ketone functionalities. Other embodiments are also included herein.
Drug composition and coating
According to the invention there is provided inter alia a medical device for delivering a paclitaxel to a tissue, the device the device having a coating layer applied to a surface of the device, the coating layer comprising components i), ii) and iii), wherein component i) is a therapeutic agent which is paclitaxel; and component ii) is urea or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, or a urea derivative or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof; and component iii) is succinic acid, glutaric acid or caffeine, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt of any one thereof.
Lubricious hydrophilic coatings and methods of forming the same
Self-crosslinking hydrophilic coatings and methods of forming the same are disclosed. The lubricious hydrophilic coatings may be formed on the surfaces of medical devices. The self-crosslinking hydrophilic coating formulations form a hydrophilic coating when the solvent of the hydrophilic coating formulation is dried off, or otherwise removed, from the formulation.
Ultrathin Films For Triclosan Transfer To Metal Medical Devices
Provided are orthopedic implants and systems and kits containing orthopedic implants that include biodegradable polymer thin films containing an antimicrobial agent, wherein the implants produce an effective zone of inhibition around a periphery of the surface of the implant and do not produce a loss of release torque between interlocking implant components.
SURFACE MODIFYING COATING FOR MEDICAL DEVICES
A surface modifying coating for an article that includes a first component having a surface in frictional engagement with a surface of a second component. At least a portion of a surface of one of the components is coated with a coating including a mixture of at least two silicones: (i) a hydrolyzable organopolysiloxane with a viscosity of less than or equal to 1,000 centistokes and that is capable of crosslinking reaction upon exposure to moisture at ambient temperature; and (ii) a second organopolysiloxane copolymerizable with the first hydrolyzable organopolysiloxane and having viscosity of greater than or equal to 5,000 centistoke; wherein the coating provides a maximum break loose force equal to or less than three times a kinetic extrusion force such that stiction is reduced between engaged surfaces. The coating is compatible with high-temperature sterilization methods sometimes used on articles for medical uses, is resistant to leaching, migration and breakdown during long-term aging conditions, and does not require a catalyst, crosslink agent, or additional energy source for preparation or application.
