Guide Bar for a Motor Chainsaw and Method for Producing a Guide Bar
A guide bar for motor chainsaws has side plates and a middle section between the side plates connected fixedly and non-movably to the side plates. The side plates form a clamping section and a deflection section opposite the clamping section. A guide groove extends circumferentially about the guide bar. The middle section forms the guide groove bottom in the deflection section. A guide bar tip is located where the longitudinal center axis of the guide bar intersects the deflection section. The side plates each have a guide surface extending continuously across a first longitudinal side of the guide bar, the deflection section, and a second longitudinal side of the guide bar. The guide surfaces of the side plates have hardened regions at the first and second longitudinal sides and at the guide bar tip with a hardness greater than a hardness of a middle region of the side plates.
Lightweight chainsaw guide bar
A chainsaw (100) includes a power unit and a working assembly powered responsive to operation of the power unit. The working assembly includes a guide bar (120) around which a chain is rotatable. The guide bar (120) includes a laminated structure in which different ones of the layers of the laminated structure are comprised of different materials.
CHAIN SAW GUIDE BAR
The present disclosure relates to a guide bar (1) for a chain saw (3) with a proximal section (7), a distal section (13), and an intermediate section (15) between the proxymal and distal sections. The periphery of the guide bar defines a saw chain guide for guiding saw chain links along a path (31) from an engagement location (27) one edge of the bar to a disengagement location on the other. The periphery of the guide bar, where the saw chain links are supported only by the guide bar periphery has a curvature which is free from abrupt changes or step-wise changes. This provides a guide bar (1) less subject to wear during use.
Weight-reduced guide bar of solid material
A guide bar (1) for the saw chain (2) of a motor-driven chain saw includes a longitudinal bar base body (3) of solid material having a reversal section (5) and a mounting section (8). A weight recess (11) is formed in a flat side (13) of the bar base body (3). The weight recess (11) extends essentially along the bar base body (3) and is closed by a cover plate (12). A light-weight, torsion-resistant guide bar is produced in that a longitudinal rib (14, 15) supporting the cover plate (12) is arranged in the weight recess (11) and extends in the longitudinal direction (19) of the guide bar (1).
Chainsaw guide bar roller bearing seal
A chainsaw (100) includes a power unit and a working assembly powered responsive to operation of the power unit. The working assembly includes a guide bar (120) around which a chain is rotatable. The guide bar (120) includes first and second side plates (200 and 210), a sprocket wheel (220), first and second shims (240 and 242), and first and second sealing members (244 and 245). The first and second side plates (200 and 210) each face other and extend away from a housing (110) to a nose. The sprocket wheel (220) is provided at the nose between the first and second side plates (200 and 210). The first and second shims (240 and 242) are disposed between the first and second side plates (200 and 210), respectively, and corresponding ones of first and second sides of the sprocket wheel (220). The first sealing member (244) is disposed between the first shim (240) and the first side of the sprocket wheel (220). The second sealing member (245) is disposed between the second shim (242) and the second side of the sprocket wheel (220).
Improved guide bars for chain saws
A guide bar for a chain saw comprising two opposite elongate surfaces and a slot formed between said opposite sides running along the periphery of the guide bar, in order to receive and retain the chain during cutting. At least one of the elongate surfaces is furrowed across its surface in the direction of the cutting movement of the guide bar. The invention also relates to an apparatus for operating the chain saw in a forestry machine.
Stabilized Cutting Tool Assemblies
Stabilized cutting tool assemblies. A cutting tool assembly for use with a reference surface includes a tool holder having a rotational axis. The tool holder is arranged for attachment to a drive source arranged to rotate the tool holder and move the tool holder relative to a reference surface. The cutting tool assembly includes a rotatable cutting tool coupled to the tool holder. The cutting tool includes a cutting surface and has a first portion and a second portion. The first portion is disposed adjacent the tool holder. The cutting tool assembly includes a stabilizer coupled to the cutting tool adjacent the second portion. The stabilizer has a bearing surface. The bearing surface is positioned on the second portion to abut the reference surface and to stabilize the cutting tool when the drive source moves the tool holder and the cutting tool to a position adjacent the reference surface.
Targeted oil delivery for chain saw bars
Embodiments include a bar for a chain saw that is equipped with one or more oil channels that run along the length of the bar. Each oil channel receives oil at a first end, which exits the oil channel at an oil exit aperture at a second end of the channel. The oil exit aperture of one of the channels is positioned along the side of a bar groove, through which runs the saw chain, proximate to the cutting area of the bar to lubricate the saw chain just prior to the cutting area. A second channel may have an oil exit aperture proximate to the nose of the bar, to lubricate a sprocket wheel in the nose of the bar.
