STIFF AND STRONG HYDROGELS, PRODUCTION METHOD AND USES THEREOF
The present disclosure relates to the development of hydrogels with extreme stiffness and high-strength. In particular, an hydrogel comprising poly(2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate) and graphene material with a specific oxidation degree. The hydrogels of the present disclosure may be used in medicine, veterinary or cosmetic, namely as scaffold, cartilage, intervertebral disc and blood contact device such as: catheters, vascular grafts, heart valves, stents, artificial kidneys, artificial lungs, ventricular assist devices or drug delivery system. Uses in other areas can be envisaged, like in soft robotics, packaging, sealing and sensors.
Preparation of acellular cartilage graft and uses thereof
Disclosed herein is a method of producing acellular cartilage grafts. The method includes steps of, subjecting a cartilage matrix derived from an animal to alkaline, disinfection and decelluarization treatments. The thus produced cartilage graft is devoid of any cellular matters, while maintaining the porosity and integrity of collagen fibers therein, thus is suitable as a xenograft for host cells to grown thereon. Also disclosed herein is a method for treating osteochondral disease of a subject, in which the present acellular cartilage graft is applied to a lesion site of the subject.
METHODS FOR INDUCING CHONDROGENESIS
Described herein are compounds and compositions for the amelioration of arthritis or joint injuries by inducing mesenchymal stem cells into chondrocytes using intra-articular administration.
HIP LABRUM SCAFFOLDS
Hip labrum scaffolds are generally provided. In some embodiments, the hip labrum scaffolds described herein have one or more advantageous features. For instance, some hip labrum scaffolds may have one or more properties that facilitate tissue ingrowth and/or have beneficial mechanical properties.
JAB1 inhibitory compositions for ossification and methods related thereto
This disclosure relates to compounds and compositions for forming bone and methods related thereto. In certain embodiments, the disclosure relates to methods of forming bone comprising implanting a bone graft composition comprising a growth factor such as BMP in a subject at a site of desired bone growth or enhancement in combination with a JAB1 blocker.
TISSUE AND ORGAN REPLACEMENTS AND METHODS OF MAKING THEREOF
A tissue or organ replacement includes a tissue-engineered construct that includes one or more bio ink compositions and a biocompatible support structure. The support structure includes one or more external supports, one or more internal supports, or combinations thereof of a biocompatible material. The composition has a three-dimensional (3D) shape, and the biocompatible material is present in an amount of about 1% to about 100% by weight of the biocompatible support structure.
Engineering mechanically functional human cartilage and method of making same
Medical devices having engineered mechanically functional cartilage from adult human mesenchymal stem cells and method for making same.
CARTILAGE MOSAIC COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS
Compositions comprising a cartilage sheet comprising a plurality of interconnected cartilage tiles and a biocompatible carrier are provided. Methods of manufacturing cartilage compositions comprising a cartilage sheet comprising a plurality of interconnected cartilage tiles are also provided.
Polymer Filament Reinforced Scaffold for Partial Meniscus Regeneration
A method for fabricating a resorbable scaffold for regeneration of meniscal tissue is disclosed. The method includes fabricating a polymer filament network using 3D printing in accordance with a digital model of the polymer filament network, such that the polymer filament network will include a first plurality of layers comprising the circumferentially-oriented filaments alternating with a second plurality of layers comprising the radially-oriented filaments, the polymer filament network having a three-dimensional shape and geometry between a first layer and a second layer which is substantially the same as a three-dimensional shape and geometry of the resorbable scaffold.
Methods, substrates, and systems useful for cell seeding of medical grafts
Described are methods, cell growth substrates, and devices that are useful in preparing cell-containing graft materials for administration to patients. Tubular passages can be defined in cell growth substrates to promote distribution of cells into the substrates. Also described are methods and devices for preparing cell-seeded graft compositions, methods and devices for preconditioning cell growth substrates prior to application of cells, and cell seeded grafts having novel substrates, and uses thereof.
