Cutter head for cutting materials, and cutter therefor

A cutter includes a cutting edge, a rear, a cutting surface, a foot and a longitudinal axis, as well as a transverse axis, wherein a stop surface is provided on the rear pointing towards the cutting edge. The stop surface extends in the direction of the transverse axis and is provided at an angle (alpha) of between 92? and 112? in relation to the longitudinal axis. In addition, the cutter is suitable for use in a cutter head having a carrier body, in which at least one radially outwardly open recess is provided for receiving a cutter and a clamping jaw which can be actuated by a clamping screw, and by means of which the cutter can be clamped in a fixed position in the recess. The recess has a stop with a stop surface that is directed radially inwards, and the cutter can be introduced into the recess against the force of at least one elastic element. The cutter can be applied, in a radially outward direction, by its stop surface to the stop surface that is directed radially inwards, by an elastic element.

Engaging Tool

A system and method for an engaging tool. Removing debris, trees and clearing land and paths requires the use of specific tool and machinery. To grind, break and shred wood, the machines must be fitted with proper attachments and engaging tools. One tool includes a front a front face and a back face connected by two opposing side faces and an opposing top face and base face. The front face has a concave shape and an outer channel which extends inwardly into the front face. The front face also has a tube a tube extending outwardly from said front face. The tube is located within the outer channel.

Planer head

A planer head includes a cylindrical body having a first end, a second end and a crenelated curved face extending therebetween and including a plurality of pockets receiving a plurality of knives and knife holders. A clamping assembly connects each of the plurality of knife holders to their corresponding knives by frictional engagement. The clamping assembly includes at least one pair of clamping elements, each being disposed on a corresponding one of the first and second ends of the body. When moved in the longitudinal direction toward each other, the at least one pair of clamping elements forcing the plurality of knife holders in the radial direction thereby engaging in friction the knife holders with their corresponding knives and knife pockets of the body. A number of pairs of clamping elements is lower than a number of at least one of knives and knife holders. A kit for a planer head assembly, a clamping assembly, and a planer body are also presented.

A system and method are provided for producing wood curls with reliable consistency and resiliency. Moisture content of wood blocks is determined and a plurality of cutting knives are installed on a disc of a curling machine and set to extend about 0.012 inches from the face of the disc. The wood blocks are fed through the curling machine and the feed rate is set based on the moisture content of the blocks and the sharpness of the cutting knives and readjusted based on the resiliency of previously cut curls in order to produce wood curls of a desired resilience.

A cutter head for a woodworking machine, having a cylindrical, conical, or profiled base body which comprises at least two tool holders for holding a cutting insert. The tool holders each comprise a groove which is open in the radial direction, in which a cutting insert is clamped between a first groove wall of the groove and a one- or two-piece clamping element. The cutter head of can include a support plate arranged between the cutting insert and the first groove wall. The clamping screws are arranged at right angles to the axis and are thus accessible for a cutter change. The screw holder on the clamping element is a ball socket, and the front end of the screw is a round head. The cutter head of has a spring element, which positions the cutting insert during the clamping process, and presses the same via the functional surface radially outward against a stop.
