Power enters the GCVT through the first set of solar gears. The GCVT includes a second set of solar gears having a second solar gear and second plurality of connection components. Power exits the GCVT through the second set of solar gears. Power is transmitted from the first set of solar gears to the second set of solar gears via the first plurality of connection components and the second plurality of connection components. The GCVT includes a hydraulic pump and a hydraulic motor connecting first component from the first plurality of connection components to second component from the second plurality of connection components and providing constant rotation ratio between the first component and the second component.

Compositions and methods for cardiac therapy

Provided herein are methods and compositions for cardiac therapy. Such compositions include extracellular-matrix (ECM)-based products that can be used to support tissue repair. The compositions can be used for various purposes. In some cases, they can be introduced into a subject in order to preserve and/or repair damaged heart tissue.

Multilayered cell sheet of cardiac stem cells and method of preparing the same

Disclosed are a multilayered cell sheet of cardiac stem cells (CSCs) and a method of manufacturing the same. In particular, the present disclosure provides a method of manufacturing a multilayered cell sheet according to a single step culture procedure by using, as a three-dimensional matrix, a biodegradable natural polymer hydrogel and embedding CSCs in the hydrogel. The multilayered cell sheet of the present disclosure does not require any special device for the manufacturing, is manageable with good physicomechanical property, increases a cell engraftment rate after transplantation based on sufficient accumulation of various growth and protective factors and extracellular matrix between cells, and is also self-assembled by the cell-mediated hydrogel compaction, making nutrients transfer easy. Therefore, the multilayered cell sheet of the CSCs is expected to be usefully applicable as a therapeutic agent for myocardium regeneration.

Composites comprising collagen extracted from sarcophyton sp. coral

Isolated composites are disclosed comprising collagen fibers isolated from a Sarcophyton sp. coral. An exemplary composite comprises as a first component a bundle of collagen fibers, the collagen fibers being isolated from a Sarcophyton sp. coral, and a second component selected from the group consisting of a polysaccharide, a polypeptide, polylipid, a synthetic polymer, a metal and a mineral, wherein the bundle of collagen fibers comprise woven fibers, twisted fibers, braided fibers, knitted fibers, tied fibers, or sutured fibers. Uses thereof and method of generating are also disclosed.

Electrospun polymer assemblies for medical implant applications

A medical implant is provided that has a first and a second electrospun component with the same type of biodegradable electrospun polymers. In one example, the second electrospun component is separately manufactured from the first electrospun component. Furthermore, the implant is structured such that the first electrospun component and the second electrospun component are assembled or joint together by the same type biodegradable electrospun polymers as in the first electrospun component and the second electrospun component. The assembled implant is a porous, biodegradable medical implant capable of being replaced by naturally ingrown tissue over time upon implantation. Advantages are the avoidance of sutures and the problems associated with the use of sutures, capability of ETR, avoidance of the need for extra materials, allowance for more precise and reproducible assembled structures for which the process could be automated.

Implantable valve prosthesis

The present invention provides valve prostheses adapted to be initially crimped in a narrow configuration suitable for catheterization through body ducts to a target location and adapted to be deployed by exerting substantially radial forces from within by means of a deployment device to a deployed state in the target location.

METHOD OF TREATMENT FOR INFECTIVE ENDOCARDITIS
20220047584 · 2022-02-17 ·

A method of treating or preventing endocarditis in a human patient in need of therapy is disclosed. The method comprises identifying a patient inflicted with or being at risk of contracting Staphylococcus aureus, Enterococcus faecalis, or Enterococcus faecium; and locally delivering to or in the vicinity of a heart valve a therapeutically or prophylactically effective amount of rifampicin, daptomycin, dalbavancin, vancomycin, or gentamycin, or a combination of rifampicin, daptomycin, dalbavancin, vancomycin, and gentamycin. The method comprises treatment or prevention of a bacterial biofilms on the endocardium caused by Staphylococcus aureus, Enterococcus faecalis, or Enterococcus faecium.

IMPLANTABLE BIOREACTOR FOR DELIVERY OF PARACRINE FACTORS

An implantable bioreactor containing a barrier which is designed to allow the release of cell-derived biomolecules, but restricts the entry of immunologic and other cells, or the egress of the cells contained within the bioreactor. Two broad classes of implantable bioreactors are envisioned, encompassing devices for both systemic delivery of the bio-products and local delivery at the target tissue. Bioreactors of both classes can be implanted via surgery, through percutaneous techniques, or other techniques which effect implantation.

MYOCARDIAL CELL SHEET
