METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR DRY MANUFACTURING RIGID CELLULOSE PRODUCTS
An apparatus for dry manufacturing rigid cellulose products having essentially non-flat general shape comprising a disintegrating unit, a cellulose blank forming unit, and a product forming unit. The cellulose blank forming unit comprises a dispenser for guiding a cellulose fibre carrying air flow from the disintegrating unit, and a forming drum having an outer surface comprising perforations. The outer surface is configured for receiving cellulose fibres and forming a continuous or discontinuous cellulose blank, and comprises a first area having a first perforation density and a second area having a second perforation density less than the first perforation density for forming the cellulose blank with higher grammage at first locations originating from the first area than at second locations originating the said second area. The apparatus further comprises an air removing device arranged inside the forming drum, and a support structure for receiving the cellulose blank from the forming drum.
METHOD FOR CLEANING PRESS PLATENS USING THERMOSETTING RESIN
A method and system for removing material build-up, including, but not limited to, boric acid or boric acid-based material, on a press platen. A thermosetting resin is deposited on the upper surface of a manufactured wood chip or strand mat, which is then subjected to heat and pressure in a press. During pressing, the build-up material on the press platen(s) will soften and/or melt, and will adhere to the to thermosetting resin on the top of the mat. After pressing, as the formed panels are removed from the press, the boric acid build-up adhering to the thermosetting resin is pulled off the press platens and is removed with the formed panels. The panels with the buildup may then be processed for appropriate uses or dispositions.
PRESSING TOOL DESIGNED AS A PRESS PLATEN
The invention relates to a pressing tool for coating wood panels in hydraulic hot presses, which is designed as a press platen (1) made of a high temperature-resistant polyether ether ketone (PEEK)-type synthetic material and the surface (2) of which is structured or smooth with different degrees of gloss.
STACKABLE MOLDED ARTICLES, AND RELATED ASSEMBLIES AND METHODS
Molded articles are provided. An exemplary molded article includes an inner panel portion, a main body portion, and a contoured portion extending between and interconnecting the inner panel portion and the main body portion so as to surround the inner panel portion and be surrounded by the main body portion. The contoured portion includes contoured corner segments and contoured elongated segments extending between respective pairs of the contoured corner segments. The contoured corner segments have a first maximum thickness. The contoured elongated segments have a second maximum thickness that is greater than the first maximum thickness. Related methods, assemblies, and apparatus are also provided.
MODULAR PRESS
A modular press suitable for use in the manufacture of EWC products may include a plurality of frame modules coupled together and aligned along a feed path axis. Each frame module may have a generally planar body supported on a corresponding pair of bases, an elongate aperture, an upper and a lower platform within the aperture, and a platen between the platforms. Optionally, the ends of the aperture may be curved. A first actuator system may be operable to move the platen from a raised position to an intermediate position, and a second actuator system may be operable to press the platen downwardly from the intermediate position onto a workpiece within the aperture. Some modular presses include conveyor rolls and a third actuator system to raise and lower the conveyor rolls. In some embodiments, the actuator systems may be pneumatic actuator systems. Corresponding methods and systems are also described herein.

Method of manufacturing moulded articles
A method of producing a moulded article comprising a thermoset polymer and particles of porous natural materials, such as wood materials, and uses thereof. The composite material has a continuous matrix of a hardened thermoset polymer and, distributed within the matrix, and the particles are at least partially encased by the thermoset polymer. The method comprises the steps of providing a mould with two opposite pressing surfaces, said pressing surfaces defining a space between them; feeding particles of porous natural materials into the space between the pressing surfaces; advancing the surfaces towards each other to compress the particles in said space; feeding unhardened thermoset resin in liquid form into the mould so as to fill at least said space between pressing surfaces while keeping the particles compressed between the pressing surfaces; and curing the thermoset resin in the mould to provide a moulded composite article.
PROCESS OF PRODUCING A LIGNOCELLULOSIC COMPOSITE, CORRESPONDING LIGNOCELLULOSIC COMPOSITE, AND USE THEREOF
Described is a process of producing a multilayer lignocellulosic composite comprising one or more lignocellulosic composite layers or a single-layer lignocellulosic composite, wherein a high-frequency electrical field is applied and wherein a binder comprising for hardening the binder via esterification at least one, two or more compounds having two or more hydroxy groups and additionally one, two or more compounds having two or more carboxyl groups is provided or prepared. Furthermore described is a lignocellulosic composite, which is preparable according to said process, a construction product comprising such lignocellulosic composite and the use of such lignocellulosic composite as a building element in a construction product. Moreover is described a binder, for producing a lignocellulosic composite.
Wood fiber-glass composite
The general inventive concepts relate to engineered wood products. The engineered wood products demonstrate improved properties including acoustic damping, fire resistance, and water absorption relative to similar engineered wood products that comprise only a single source of fibers. In contrast, the inventive engineered wood products include a combination of at least two types of fibers.
Stiff mycelium bound part and method of producing stiff mycelium bound parts
A self-supporting composite body comprising a substrate of discrete particles and a network of interconnected mycelia cells extending through and around the discrete particles and bonding the discrete particles together is characterized in being stiff and in having a density of greater than 18 pounds per cubic foot (pcf). The method of making the composite body includes compressing a mass of biocomposite material comprised of discrete particles and a network of interconnected mycelia cells in the presence of moisture into a compressed body having a density in excess of 18 pcf. Compression may take place batch wise in a press or continuously between a pair of movable endless conveyors.
