PROCESS FOR PRODUCING A COMPOSITION COMPRISING A CROSSLINKED HYDROGEL
20230002564 · 2023-01-05 ·

A process for producing a composition comprising a crosslinked hydrogel is proposed. The process comprises providing a container body (2), wherein the container body (2) has a body inner wall (21) and a body outer wall (22), wherein the body inner (21) wall is configured to be tempered, filling of a fluid (7) comprising at least a mixture of a polymer and water into the container body (2), and agitating the fluid. For crosslinking of the fluid (7), a container insert (3) is provided, the container insert (3) having an insert outer wall (32) which is configured to be tempered and a container assembly (1) is formed by inserting the container insert (3) into the container body (2) so that the insert outer wall (32) of the container insert (3) and the body inner wall (21) of the container body (2) are separated by a gap (9) of constant width and define a volume (6) for receiving the fluid (7). Crosslinking of the fluid (7) is then performed while tempering the insert outer wall (32) and the body inner wall (21) to form a crosslinked hydrogel.

An antibacterial medical biomaterial includes an acellular small intestinal submucosal matrix material, an antibacterial gel layer located on a surface of the acellular small intestinal submucosal matrix material, and an absorbable fiber layer located on a surface of the antibacterial gel layer. Sulfadiazine silver is on the surface of the acellular small intestinal submucosal matrix material and/or within the acellular small intestinal submucosal matrix material. An absorbable fiber layer to which the sulfadiazine silver is attached, wherein the content of sulfadiazine silver in the absorbable fiber is 1 wt. %˜2 wt. %. The medical biomaterial is usable as an external medicine for treating wound infections relayed by burns or wounds, and for reducing the incidence of infection by using a conventional central venous catheter with a sulfadiazine silver antibacterial coating, so that the medical biomaterial loaded with sulfadiazine silver also has antibacterial activity consistent with sulfadiazine silver.

Semi-synthetic tissue constructs for tissue regeneration

Methods and compositions for tissue regeneration of the present invention include a biocompatible porous composite of a decellularized tissue and an aptamer-functionalized hydrogel, wherein the aptamers of the aptamer-functionalized hydrogel specifically and reversibly bind to an active agent.

Injectable silk fibroin foams and uses thereof

The inventions provided herein relate to compositions, methods, delivery devices and kits for repairing or augmenting a tissue in a subject. The compositions described herein can be injectable such that they can be placed in a tissue to be treated with a minimally-invasive procedure (e.g., by injection). In some embodiments, the composition described herein comprises a compressed silk fibroin matrix, which can expand upon injection into the tissue and retain its original expanded volume within the tissue for a period of time. The compositions can be used as a filler to replace a tissue void, e.g., for tissue repair and/or augmentation, or as a scaffold to support tissue regeneration and/or reconstruction. In some embodiments, the compositions described herein can be used for soft tissue repair or augmentation.

Soft tissue filler and methods

A malleable polysaccharide soft tissue filler for filling tissue cavities or voids such as those resulting from tumor removal or other tissue resection. The soft tissue filler includes a first cross-linking polysaccharide, preferably a beta-D glucan and a second cross-linking polysaccharide. The soft tissue filler is both porous and malleable and can be formed to accommodate the tissue cavity or void. The soft tissue filler can include an embedded marker for locating on medical imaging. Methods of making the soft tissue filler including lyophilizing an aqueous polysaccharide suspension are disclosed. The second cross-linking polysaccharide provides for increased structural integrity in a high-porosity and malleable soft tissue filler in which the respective cross-linking polysaccharides synergistically provide structural scaffolding for one another. Methods of use are also disclosed.

An auxetic structure, a support structure, a method of preparing an auxetic structure, and use of a cellulosic material

According to an example aspect of the present invention, there is provided an auxetic structure, comprising or consisting of cellulosic material, preferably comprising nanostructured or microstructured cellulose on at least one of its surfaces or consisting of nanostructured or microstructured cellulose and optionally other cellulosic material.

THREE-DIMENSIONAL NETWORK AQUEOUS GEL AND MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREOF
20230218800 · 2023-07-13 ·

A three-dimensional network aqueous gel and a manufacturing method thereof are disclosed. A water-soluble polymer is first added into a solvent and uniformly mixed, followed by hydrolysis to form a sol, and vacuum is applied to convert the sol into a gel, followed by a polycondensation reaction to form a three-dimensional network aqueous gel. The three-dimensional network aqueous gel is formed of the water-soluble polymer that includes a group including sodium alginate and sodium carboxymethyl cellulose. The water-soluble polymer is interconnected to form a three-dimensional network structure. The three-dimensional network aqueous gel is of a gel-enclosed form, which uses the three-dimensional network structure formed of a high-molecule polymer to enclose medicine, so as to more effectively protect the active ingredient and provide an effect of controlled released to thereby extend therapeutic period and reduce side effects of irritating skin.
