Breast pump system

A breast pump system comprising a solenoid valve includes a power source that is arranged to supply electrical power to the solenoid valve so as enable the solenoid valve to move between first and second positions. The breast pump system also includes a controller configured to detect a change in inductance of the solenoid valve that is indicative of the solenoid valve moving from first to second position and a control action in which the vacuum pump is stopped.

The engagement structure 80 tilts down the extending section erected in the form of a pillar, the extending section being a part of the negative pressure generating member, and is selectively engaged with a plurality of engaging sections provided in the middle of the extending section upon erecting the extending section.

A breast pump device and associated methods for extracting breast milk ate disclosed. A pump head comprises an external shell with an elastic membrane disposed and bonded therein to define at least one hermetically sealed chamber. Manipulation of the elastic membrane, for example, by adjusting suction or pressure in the sealed chamber or within an interior volume defined by the elastic membrane permits radial mechanical compression (positive pressure) to be applied to a nipple positioned in the pump head to simulate compression of the nipple by the infant's tongue and simultaneously permits axial hydraulic or pneumatic suction (negative pressure) to be applied to the nipple to simulate the infant's minimum intra-oral vacuum. The breast pump device of the present invention can generate these simultaneous compressions and suctions with a single vacuum source, which may be an electric pump or a hand-operated mechanical pump.

A mechanical fluid pressure modification valve, or “MFLP-valve”, is set forth. The MFLP-valve can be actuated upon movement of a movable pressure system member of a medical pressure system reaching a selected position. Additionally, the MFLP-valve can be actuated based on a pressure condition of the system. When the MFLP-valve unseals, a pressure differential between a pressure chamber and a volume outside of the chamber can be relieved. Disengagement of the movable pressure system member from the MFLP-valve can enable the MFLP-valve to re-seal. The MFLP-valve may include a flag that indicates the position of the movable pressure system member. The MFLP-valve may be provided in a diaphragm-type pressure source.

A mechanical fluid pressure modification valve, or “MFLP-valve”, is set forth. Breast pump

There is provided a pressure oscillation damper in order to reduce the level of the pressure oscillations by the use of for a fluid extraction system. The pressure oscillation damper comprises a wall enclosing a main volume, at least two inlets, arranged in the wall and adapted to be connected to fluid extraction units, at least two outlets, arranged in the wall and adapted to be connected to pumping units, and at least one flexible member, arranged in the first volume so as to divide the first volume into at least two secondary volumes, each secondary volume forming a channel between the at least one inlet and at least one outlet, the flexible member being configured to bend toward a secondary volume having a lower pressure.

There is provided a pressure oscillation damper in order to reduce the level of the pressure oscillations by the use of for a fluid extraction system. The pressure oscillation damper comprises a wall enclosing a main volume, at least two inlets, arranged in the wall and adapted to be connected to fluid extraction units, at least two outlets, arranged in the wall and adapted to be connected to pumping units, and at least one flexible member, arranged in the first volume so as to divide the first volume into at least two secondary volumes, each secondary volume forming a channel between the at least one inlet and at least one outlet, the flexible member being configured to bend toward a secondary volume having a lower pressure.

Expression kit

The present invention relates to an expression kit (1) for extraction of breast milk from a female breast, comprising a funnel (2) for receiving the breast therein, a housing (4), a container (5) for receiving the breast milk, a connection port (7) for connection to a vacuum source, and a membrane element (6) arranged in the housing (4) between the funnel (2) and the container (5) for sealing the funnel (2) with respect to the connection port (7), the funnel (2) with respect to the housing (4) and the housing (4) with respect to the container (5).

Expression kit

The present invention relates to an expression kit (1) for extraction of breast milk from a female breast, comprising a funnel (2) for receiving the breast therein, a housing (4), a container (5) for receiving the breast milk, a connection port (7) for connection to a vacuum source, and a membrane element (6) arranged in the housing (4) between the funnel (2) and the container (5) for sealing the funnel (2) with respect to the connection port (7), the funnel (2) with respect to the housing (4) and the housing (4) with respect to the container (5).
