SUPPORTER FOR BODY

A supporter for body (1) to be attached to a skin of a body includes a pad base member (10) which is made of an elastic member and has a curved shape at least locally, and an adhesion layer (11) which is provided in a surface of the pad base member (10) on a side being adhered to the skin. The adhesion layer (11) is adhered to the skin with the curved shape of the pad base member (10) being stretched along a shape of the body, and holds the skin in a state in which the skin is drawn up, using a restoring force of the pad base member (10).

The present invention provides a saliva evacuator system for removing saliva, and optionally debris, from the mouth of a dental patient. The saliva evacuator system includes a vacuum pump, a flexible tubing connected at one end to the vacuum pump, and a tip assembly at the other end of the tubing, the tip assembly carrying a vacuum on/off valve. The on/off valve is positioned so that the on/off valve remains outside of the patient's mouth when the tip assembly is inserted into the patient's mouth. The on/off valve is a single-piece body push valve that is transversely movable within a hollow body of the tip assembly and is retained on the hollow by opposite ends of the on/off valve. One end of the on/off valve preferably clips onto the hollow body. The tip assembly can include a saliva ejector tip, a high-volume evacuator tip or a surgical high-volume evacuator tip.

Ureteral and bladder catheters and methods of inducing negative pressure to increase renal perfusion

A ureteral catheter is provided, including a drainage lumen including a proximal portion and a distal portion configured to be positioned in a patient's kidney, renal pelvis, and/or in the ureter adjacent to the renal pelvis, the distal portion including a retention portion for maintaining positioning of the distal portion of the drainage lumen, the retention portion including at least two openings on a sidewall of the retention portion for permitting fluid flow into the drainage lumen wherein a total area of a proximal most opening of the at least two openings is less than a total area of more distal opening(s) nearer to the distal end of the drainage lumen, and wherein when negative pressure is applied through the ureteral catheter, fluid is drawn into the ureteral catheter through the at least two openings.

Suction assembly

A suction assembly is described. The suction assembly includes a therapy unit with a body that can apply a supplemental therapy to a skin surface. The suction assembly also includes a cup that can be removably connected to the therapy unit and that can interface with a skin surface to define a chamber within the cup. A pump of the therapy unit can reduce a pressure within the chamber to draw the skin surface into the chamber in a cupping therapy. In response to the skin surface being drawn into the chamber, the body can move in a longitudinal direction to maintain contact with the skin surface. A wall of the cup is translucent and the suction assembly is dimensioned to provide a user with a view into the chamber through the wall of the cup that is substantially unobstructed by the housing.

System for treating a sebaceous gland

One aspect of the invention provides a system of treating a sebaceous gland in human skin with light energy to reduce acne symptoms. The system includes: a composition comprising a metallic nanoparticle dispersed within a carrier; means to vibrate at least a portion of the skin surface to which the composition is applied; means to selectively remove at least some of the composition from the skin surface after application of the means to vibrate, while leaving the metallic nanoparticles in proximity to or within the sebaceous gland; and means to optically irradiate the skin to which the composition was applied with light energy after removal of at least some of the composition from the skin surface.
