Fluid heating component, and fluid heating component complex
A fluid heating component including: a pillar-shaped member made of ceramics and formed with through channels through which a fluid passes, and a conductive coating layer disposed on at least a part of a circumferential surface of the pillar-shaped member, wherein the conductive coating layer is disposed on coats the whole circumference of a cut surface of the pillar-shaped member in a state where the conducive coating layer is electrically connected, in the cut surface of the pillar-shaped member which is perpendicular to a passing direction of the fluid.
Method for producing honeycomb structure
A method for producing a honeycomb structure, the method including: a step of drying a pillar-shaped honeycomb formed body including partition walls that define a plurality of cells each forming a flow path penetrating from a first end face to a second end face; and after the step of drying, a step of cooling the honeycomb formed body by applying a suction force to the first end face of the honeycomb formed body to allow a coolant to flow in the honeycomb formed body from the second end face, pass through the cells, and flow out from the first end face.
SELECTIVE MASKING AND PLUGGING OF HONEYCOMB BODIES
A method of plugging a honeycomb body is disclosed herein, the method comprising: contacting a first end of the honeycomb body comprising a plurality of channels with a light curable sealing mixture such that an infiltrate of the light curable sealing mixture flows into the plurality of channels proximate the first end; emitting a light toward a first portion of the infiltrate within the plurality channels of the filter; and curing the first portion of the infiltrate within the channels with the light to form a plurality of seals.
ROLLER DRUM PLUGGING OF HONEYCOMB BODIES
A method of plugging a honeycomb body is disclosed herein, the method comprising: applying a mask layer to the honeycomb body defining a plurality of channels, wherein the mask layer defines a plurality of holes aligned with the plurality of channels; rotating a roller drum; moving the honeycomb body over the roller drum to define a nip between the roller drum and the honeycomb body; and inserting a plugging cement in the nip between the roller drum and the mask layer such that the roller drum forces the plugging cement through the plurality of holes of the mask layer into the plurality of channels of the honeycomb body.
VANE WITH COLLAR
An airfoil piece includes a first vane platform, a second vane platform, and a hollow airfoil section that joins the first vane platform and the second vane platform. The hollow airfoil section includes a collar projection which extends past the first vane platform. The collar projection includes at least one radial tab projecting therefrom. An airfoil assembly and a method of assembling a vane are also disclosed.
Honeycomb filter plugging and apparatus for honeycomb filter plugging
A method for forming a plugged honeycomb article includes feeding a ceramic precursor material through an extrusion die, the extrusion die having a plurality of pins, a plurality of cavities bounded by adjacent pins, and alternating end-faces of the plurality of pins include extensions extending from an outlet of the extrusion die in an extrusion direction. The method further includes extruding the ceramic precursor material through the extrusion die to form a web structure comprising a plurality of cell walls and channels bounded by adjacent cell walls, supporting the web structure that has been extruded through the extrusion die, and providing movement between the extrusion die and the web structure in at least one direction substantially orthogonal to the extrusion direction while the extensions are positioned in at least a portion of the channels.
METHODS AND APPARATUS FOR PLUGGING CELLS OF CERAMIC STRUCTURES AND HONEYCOMB FILTERS
A method for plugging a subset of cells of a honeycomb structure that includes: covering a first end face of the honeycomb structure with a mask that comprises a body and a plurality of openings, wherein the plurality of openings of the mask is coincident with a plurality of cells of the honeycomb structure; providing a plug of material upon a film material; applying a force to the film material to push the plug of material through the plurality of openings of the mask and into the plurality of cells of the honeycomb structure; and measuring a pressure within the plurality of cells during the applying step, wherein the applying step further comprises adjusting the force applied to the film material based at least in part on the pressure within the plurality of cells to push the plug of material to a predetermined depth within the plurality of cells.
Method for producing honeycomb structure
A method for producing a honeycomb structure 1 having a slit 12 includes: a first step of preparing a honeycomb structure 1 being free from slit, and forming the slit 12 leaving at least a part of the outer peripheral wall 10 or the partition wall 11; after the first step, a second step of filling the slit 12 with a joining material 13; and after the second step, a third step of removing at least a part of the outer peripheral wall 10 or the partition wall 11 left in the first step to obtain the honeycomb structure 1 having the slit 12 that divides the honeycomb structure 1.
Exhaust filter with active plugs
A ceramic honeycomb body having intersecting walls that form channels extending axially from a first end face to a second end face and plugs to seal the channels at least at one of the first end face and the second end face. The plugs include a first active component, such as a catalytically active component or a chemically active component, of the plug structure, wherein the intersecting walls comprise no first active component and optionally have a second active component of the wall structure or disposed on the walls. Included are methods of making the ceramic honeycomb body having plugs of the first active component and walls with no first active component.
PARTICULATE FILTER WITH VARIABLE CANAL GEOMETRY AND METHODS OF MANUFACTURING SUCH A FILTER
The invention relates to a particulate filter for collecting particulate matter from the exhaust gases of an internal combustion engine, having a canal geometry that evolves along the entire length of the canal, such that: the perimeter of the cross section of the canal decreases continuously from an open end (310) of the canal (370) as far as a reference cross section (350) of the canal, then increases continuously from the reference cross section as far as a closed end (360) of the canal, and the surface area of the cross section of the canal decreases monotonously from the open end of the canal as far as the closed end. The closed ends are situated in the body of the filter near the outlet and inlet faces respectively for the inlet and outlet canals of the filter.
