Drainage system with O-ring
A drainage system, the drainage system comprising a container having an interior and a mouth, the mouth comprising an outer surface and an opening, a frangible seal covering the opening, a cap secured to the mouth and in fluid communication with a drainage line, the cap having an inner surface configured to engage with the outer surface of the mouth, an O-ring located at least partially between the outer surface of the mouth and the inner surface of the cap and configured to form a fluid seal between a space defined by the cap and the space located externally of the drainage system, and a retaining ring circumferentially engaging the cap.
Evacuated bottle system
An evacuated bottle system including a bottle defining a hollow interior, the bottle having a neck with a rim defining an opening; a cap assembly supported on the bottle, the cap assembly including a funnel having a first portion and a second portion, the first portion being insertable within the interior of the bottle and the second portion engaging a portion of the bottle to support the funnel above the rim, the funnel defining a bore that fluidly communicates with the hollow interior of the bottle; a self-sealing membrane that covers the bore formed by the funnel to selectively seal the hollow interior of the bottle; a cap attachable to the bottle, the cap including a cover portion that extends at least partially over the self-sealing membrane to restrain movement thereof, the cover portion being axially spaced from the self-sealing membrane to define a gap that permits axial movement of the self-sealing membrane to selectively open the bottle to fluid communication outside of the bottle.
Drain tray assembly, system and method
A surgical drain tray assembly includes a fluid impermeable first layer and a porous second layer positioned on the fluid impermeable first layer. The fluid impermeable first layer includes a drain outlet, a basin, and a sloping surface angled toward the basin, the drain outlet being positioned within the basin. The porous second layer may be formed of a foam material and includes a top work surface. Fluids spilled onto the work surface pass through the porous second layer to the fluid impermeable first layer. The sloping surface of the fluid impermeable first layer conveys the fluids toward the basin for draining through the drainage outlet.
DRESSINGS AND METHODS FOR TREATING A TISSUE SITE ON A PATIENT
Dressings, systems, and methods for treating a tissue site on a patient involve allowing liquids from the tissue site or a priming fluid to evaporate and exit the dressing through a liquid-impermeable, vapor-permeable membrane. The dressing is able to process more liquids than would otherwise be possible without evaporation and potentially to create reduced pressure. Other dressings, systems, and methods are disclosed.
External Catheter with Finger Pocket for Self-Placement
A female external catheter includes a hollow body portion including a urethral inlet in fluid communication with an outlet. A wicking material covers the urethral inlet, and a catheter tube is coupled to the outlet, the catheter tube configured to transport urine away from the hollow body portion. The hollow body portion includes a finger portion with an opening configured to receive only a single finger to enable manipulation of the female external catheter in order to position and hold the wicking material against a urethral outlet of a female user.
Fluid collection
An apparatus and method for collecting fluid are disclosed. The apparatus includes a body portion comprising a fluid inlet and an outlet, an expandable container secured to the body portion, at least one wicking element extending from within the body portion into the container, and at least one super absorber element arranged inside the container.
Suction stent, stent system, and method for sealing a leakage
A suction stent for introduction into a hollow organ of the human or animal body, preferably into the gastrointestinal tract, in particular the intestine, includes a tubular hollow body which is open in the longitudinal direction and made of biocompatible material. The tubular hollow body has a fixed diameter at least in its central portion. A porous shapeable material, preferably a sponge material, which is biocompatible and shapeable in the radial direction, radially sheaths the tubular hollow body at least in a section of the tubular hollow body. A method for sealing a leakage, especially an anastomosis, of the hollow organ utilizes the stent.
SURGICAL DRAIN SYSTEM AND CONTAINER
A portable drain system having a subdermal drain and a container in fluid communication with the subdermal drain is disclosed. The subdermal drain is configured to drain fluid from a surgical site. The container provides a negative pressure to the subdermal drain. The container draws and receives the fluid. The container includes at least one sensor in which the at least one sensor is configured to detect at least one of fluid color, fluid volume in the container, and orientation of the container.
SURGICAL DRAIN SYSTEM AND CONTAINER
A container for a portable surgical drain system to receive a fluid from a drain at a surgical site is disclosed. The container includes a drain hub having at least one sensor and a cartridge removably coupled to the drain hub in fluid communication with the drain to provide a suction source to draw and receive the fluid from the surgical site. The at least one sensor detects a characteristic of the fluid in the cartridge.
EVACUATED BOTTLE SYSTEM
An evacuated bottle system including a bottle defining a hollow interior, the bottle having a neck defining an opening that provides fluid communication with the interior; a cap assembly including a funnel having a first portion and a second portion, where the second portion extends radially outward from the first portion to form a floor on an interior thereof and a shoulder on an exterior thereof, the first portion defining a first bore and the second portion defining a second bore fluidly connected to the first bore; a self serum stopper having a self sealing membrane that extends radially outward to overlie at least a portion of the floor of the funnel; and a cap having a cap wall sized to fit over the funnel and a cover portion extending radially inward from the cap wall.
