The invention relates to a baby mouth simulator for the female breast, comprising a receiving space for the lactated milk. The baby mouth simulator further comprises a milking sleeve, by means of which a manual milking pressure causing a lactation can be carried out to the nipple and the adjoining regions. The aim of the baby mouth simulator is to improve the effectivity of the method of a manual generation of a lactation of the female breast. This aim is achieved in that the milking sleeve is designed as a dual sleeve, wherein an inner sealing sleeve, which seals the receiving space with respect to the areola when used as intended, and a fixing sleeve, which mechanically fixes the baby mouth simulator on the breast when used as intended, is provided, and the receiving space is designed as a vacuum space.

Fluid Storage Devices, Systems, And Methods

A system suitable for treating a tissue site may include an interface manifold, an interface sealing member, an absorbent layer, and a storage sealing member. The interface manifold may be positioned in fluid communication at the tissue site. The interface sealing member may be adapted to provide a sealed treatment space relative to the tissue site, and the interface manifold may be positioned in the sealed treatment space. The absorbent layer may be for positioning on an exterior facing side of the interface sealing member. The storage sealing member may be adapted to provide a sealed storage space between the storage sealing member and the exterior facing side of the interface sealing member. The absorbent layer may be positioned in the sealed storage space. Other systems, apparatuses, and methods are disclosed.

EVACUATED BOTTLE SYSTEM

An evacuated bottle system including a bottle defining a hollow interior, the bottle having a neck defining an opening that provides fluid communication with the interior; a cap assembly including a funnel having a first portion and a second portion, where the second portion extends radially outward from the first portion to form a floor on an interior thereof and a shoulder on an exterior thereof, the first portion defining a first bore and the second portion defining a second bore fluidly connected to the first bore; a self serum stopper having a self sealing membrane that extends radially outward to overlie at least a portion of the floor of the funnel; and a cap having a cap wall sized to fit over the funnel and a cover portion extending radially inward from the cap wall.

EVACUATED BOTTLE SYSTEM

An evacuated bottle system including a bottle defining a hollow interior, the bottle having a neck with a rim defining an opening; a cap assembly supported on the bottle, the cap assembly including a funnel having a first portion and a second portion, the first portion being insertable within the interior of the bottle and the second portion engaging a portion of the bottle to support the funnel above the rim, the funnel defining a bore that fluidly communicates with the hollow interior of the bottle; a self-sealing membrane that covers the bore formed by the funnel to selectively seal the hollow interior of the bottle; a cap attachable to the bottle, the cap including a cover portion that extends at least partially over the self-sealing membrane to restrain movement thereof, the cover portion being axially spaced from the self-sealing membrane to define a gap that permits axial movement of the self-sealing membrane to selectively open the bottle to fluid communication outside of the bottle.

Methods of operating a waste collection unit including a light assembly

A method of operating a waste collection unit including a light assembly separate from a display panel. A vacuum level of the vacuum drawn on a waste canister is measured with a vacuum sensor. The light assembly positioned adjacent a manifold receiver is operated to selectively emit light of a color based on the measured vacuum level. A commanded vacuum level may be received on the display panel, and a colored image indicative of a commanded vacuum level may be displayed on the display panel. The waste collection unit may include plural manifold receivers each configured to receive a manifold. The light assembly that is adjacent the manifold receiver corresponding to the waste canister into which the vacuum is being drawn may be operated to selectively emit light to emit light at different colors or different patterns based on the operating state of the waste collection unit.

A drainage system, the drainage system comprising a container having an interior and a mouth, the mouth comprising an outer surface and an opening, a frangible seal covering the opening, a cap secured to the mouth and in fluid communication with a drainage line, the cap having an inner surface configured to engage with the outer surface of the mouth, an O-ring located at least partially between the outer surface of the mouth and the inner surface of the cap and configured to form a fluid seal between a space defined by the cap and the space located externally of the drainage system, and a retaining ring circumferentially engaging the cap.

Urine collection system including a flow meter and related methods

A urine collection system includes a urine collection device configured to collect urine discharged from a user and a urine collection container in fluid communication with the urine collection device and sized and dimensioned to receive the urine discharged from the user. The urine collection system also includes a flow meter having a communication interface and positioned between the urine collection container and the urine collection device. The flow meter is configured to detect a flow property of the urine at least related to a volume of the urine entering the urine collection container and the communication interface is configured to wirelessly communicate to a computing device at least one of the detected flow property or the volume of the urine including the volume of the urine discharged from the user entering the urine collection container.

FLUID COLLECTION

An apparatus and method for collecting fluid are disclosed. The apparatus includes a body portion comprising a fluid inlet and an outlet, an expandable container secured to the body portion, at least one wicking element extending from within the body portion into the container, and at least one super absorber element arranged inside the container.

Methods Of Operating A Waste Collection Unit Including A Light Assembly

Methods of operating a waste collection unit including a smoke evacuator. The smoke evacuator includes a suction pump operable to draw fluid through a smoke pen, a smoke tube, and a smoke filter. The smoke filter may include a sensor to detect smoke particulates indicative of surgical smoke within the fluid. A processor may operate a light assembly of the smoke filter to emit light in response to the detection of the smoke particulates. The light may be directed through a light pipe of the smoke tube to be emitted from an output on the smoke pen. The light assembly may be operated to notify a user of a clog or malfunction of the smoke filter. A color or a pattern of the light may be selectively emitted based on the clog, the malfunction, a speed of the suction pump, or other state of the smoke evacuator.
