FLUID COLLECTION
An apparatus and method for collecting fluid are disclosed. The apparatus includes a body portion comprising a fluid inlet and an outlet, an expandable container secured to the body portion, at least one wicking element extending from within the body portion into the container, and at least one super absorber element arranged inside the container.
Detachable Recycling Container
The present invention provides dental amalgam recycling systems, useful for recycling particles from a dental liquid effluent drawn, for example, from a suctioning device.
Emesis Containment Device
An emesis containment device is configured to draw in airborne infectious and other particles and may include a ring guard, emesis bag, filter, and pump to draw air through the filter.
Evacuated bottle system
An evacuated bottle system including a bottle defining a hollow interior, the bottle having a neck with a rim defining an opening; a cap assembly supported on the bottle, the cap assembly including a funnel having a first portion and a second portion, the first portion being insertable within the interior of the bottle and the second portion engaging a portion of the bottle to support the funnel above the rim, the funnel defining a bore that fluidly communicates with the hollow interior of the bottle; a self-sealing membrane that covers the bore formed by the funnel to selectively seal the hollow interior of the bottle; a cap attachable to the bottle, the cap including a cover portion that extends at least partially over the self-sealing membrane to restrain movement thereof, the cover portion being axially spaced from the self-sealing membrane to define a gap that permits axial movement of the self-sealing membrane to selectively open the bottle to fluid communication outside of the bottle.
Dual action oral waste fluid removal and hydration device
The device comprises a portable, dual-cup, twin-bottle apparatus. One of the bottles carries a fresh fluid. The other has the ability to accept mouth fluids and can include a suction actuator.
APPARATUSES AND METHODS FOR NEGATIVE PRESSURE WOUND THERAPY
Disclosed herein are several embodiments of a negative pressure appliance and methods of using the same in the treatment of wounds. Some embodiments are directed towards wound dressings comprising a liquid and gas permeable transmission layer, an absorbent layer for absorbing wound exudate, the absorbent layer overlying the transmission layer, a gas impermeable cover layer overlying the absorbent layer and comprising a first orifice, wherein the cover layer is moisture vapor permeable. Some embodiments are directed to improved fluidic connectors or suction adapters for connecting to a wound site, for example using softer, kink-free conformable suction adapters.
Therapy apparatus with integrated fluid conductors and noise attenuation
In one example embodiment, an apparatus may include a panel with integrated fluid channels, wherein the panel and the fluid channel consist only of surfaces that can be manufactured with a straight-pull mold. A port may also be integrated into the panel to facilitate coupling the fluid channel to pneumatic components in an assembly. A seal may be secured to the panel over the fluid channel to form an integrated fluid conductor. The seal is preferably an adhesive label that can also be used for product labeling. Such an apparatus may be used in a control unit of a therapy system, employing several integrated fluid conductors. A method of manufacturing may include molding a panel, wherein the mold forms a channel integral to the panel. The panel and the channel preferably consist of surfaces that can be molded with a straight-pull mold.
Methods of Operating A Waste Collection Unit Including A Light Assembly
A method of operating a waste collection unit including a light assembly separate from a display panel. A vacuum level of the vacuum drawn on a waste canister is measured with a vacuum sensor. The light assembly positioned adjacent a manifold receiver is operated to selectively emit light of a color based on the measured vacuum level. A commanded vacuum level may be received on the display panel, and a colored image indicative of a commanded vacuum level may be displayed on the display panel. The waste collection unit may include plural manifold receivers each configured to receive a manifold. The light assembly that is adjacent the manifold receiver corresponding to the waste canister into which the vacuum is being drawn may be operated to selectively emit light to emit light at different colors or different patterns based on the operating state of the waste collection unit.
Evacuated bottle system
A cap assembly including a self-sealing membrane that overlaps an opening to an interior of a container. The cap assembly further includes a cap having a cover portion that includes an annular wall that defines a central opening, and at least one evacuating opening located radially outward of the central opening. The cover portion defines a gap above the self-sealing membrane. The gap is configured to allow the self-sealing membrane to be at least partially displaced from the opening to allow fluid communication between the interior of the container and an outside atmosphere when a suction is applied to the cap.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR REMOVAL OF BLOOD AND THROMBOTIC MATERIAL
A method for improving a flow condition through a catheter advancing an aspiration catheter through a sheath such that an open distal end of the aspiration lumen of the aspiration catheter is distal to a distal end of a sheath and is in proximity to a thrombus within a blood vessel of a subject, coupling an extension conduit in fluid communication with a lumen of the sheath to a fluid source, and activating a pump such that pressurized fluid from a first fluid source is supplied to a supply lumen of the aspiration catheter and when insufficient flowable material is present adjacent the open distal end of the aspiration lumen, fluid from the second fluid source is caused to flow through the lumen of the sheath.
