Methods, systems, and apparatus, for performing pultrusion molding with concrete. One exemplary method includes conveying a textile material through a concrete infusion system to provide a concrete infused textile material (CITM). Heating and shaping the CITM by conveying the CITM through a microwave chamber comprising an electrically non-conductive die disposed therein, the microwave chamber operable to heat concrete infused in the textile material by irradiating the CITM with microwave energy as the CITM is conveyed through the microwave chamber, and the die operable to shape the CITM as the CITM is conveyed through the microwave chamber. Cooling the CITM by conveying the CITM through a cool down chamber operable to maintain heat in the CITM as the CITM is conveyed through the microwave chamber allowing the concrete to cure while a temperature of the CITM is reduced.

Process for producing a cured 3D product

The invention is directed to a process for producing a cured 3D product comprising the following steps: (a) providing a form negative mould of the 3D product comprising of one or two formed plastic sheets as obtained by thermoforming corresponding with the shape of the 3D product; (b) adding a liquid curable composition to the mould such that the inner surface of the mould is covered by the curable composition; and (c) solidifying the curable composition wherein a solidified layer or body is formed having the shape of the 3D product; wherein the cured 3D product is a radiation cured 3D product; and wherein the step (c) a radiation curable composition is solidified by radiation through the plastic sheet of the mould to form a solidified layer having the shape of the 3D product.

Method for producing honeycomb structure

A method for producing a honeycomb structure including producing an unfired pillar shaped honeycomb body; placing the unfired pillar shaped honeycomb body on a receiving table such that the unfired pillar shaped honeycomb body stands thereon; conveying the unfired pillar shaped honeycomb body placed on the receiving table; drying the unfired pillar shaped honeycomb body after the conveying step, or drying the unfired pillar shaped honeycomb body during the conveying to obtain a honeycomb dried body; and firing the honeycomb dried body to obtain a honeycomb structure. The receiving table includes at least one protrusion. In the honeycomb formed body conveying step, the unfired pillar shaped honeycomb body is conveyed while supporting it by inserting the at least one protrusion of the receiving table into a bottom surface of the unfired pillar shaped honeycomb body placed on the receiving table.

In a method of making a gaseous emissions treatment component, a green ceramic mix is extruded through a die to form an extrusion having cells extending along the extrusion, the cells being bounded by walls dividing adjacent cells from one another. In concert with the extruding, metal is fed through the die with the extruded mix. A length of the extrusion and associated metal is then cut off and fired to form the component.

CERAMIC SINTERING

Herein discussed is a method of sintering a ceramic comprising (a) providing an electromagnetic radiation (EMR) source; (b) (i) providing a layer of intermixed ceramic particles and absorber particles, wherein the absorber particles have a volume fraction in the intermixed particles in the range of no less than 3%; or (ii) providing a first layer comprising ceramic particles and a second layer comprising absorber particles in contact with at least a portion of the first layer, wherein the second layer is farther from the EMR source than the first layer; (c) heating (i) the layer of intermixed particles or (ii) the first layer using EMR; and (d) controlling the EMR such that at least a portion of the ceramic particles are sintered wherein (i) the layer of intermixed particles becomes impermeable or (ii) the first layer becomes impermeable, wherein the absorber particles have greater EMR absorption than the ceramic particles.
