The disclosure relates to, among other things, an abrasive article comprising a plurality of 4D-ceramic structures, wherein the 4D-ceramic structures are made by a method comprising sequentially: at least partially removing a strain from a second strained primary polymer ceramic precursor, comprising a polymeric substrate and ceramic precursor particles dispersed therein, to give a 4-D ceramic precursor comprising a polymeric substrate; and thermolytically removing the polymeric substrate from the 4-D ceramic precursor comprising a polymeric substrate to provide a 4D-ceramic structure.

CERAMIC STRUCTURE AND METHOD MANUFACTURING CERAMIC STRUCTURE

A heater includes a base body and an internal conductor. The base body is made of ceramic. The internal conductor is located inside the base body and includes a connection portion. The base body includes a space extending from the connection portion to a lower surface of the base body. The space includes a first space and a second space. The first space contacts with the connection portion. The second space connects the first space and an outer side of the lower surface of the base body, and is smaller than the first space in a planar perspective of the lower surface of the base body.

Kiln firing with differential temperature gradients

A method for heating ware in a kiln. The ware space of the kiln includes a plurality of temperature control zones oriented in a first direction, and a plurality of temperature control zones oriented in a second direction. The method includes heating the ware space in a first heating stage, a second heating stage, and a third heating stage. At least one of the following conditions is satisfied: (i) in one of the heating stages, a temperature control zone oriented in the first direction has a setpoint temperature that is different from a setpoint temperature of one other temperature control zone oriented in the first direction; and (ii) in one of the heating stages, one temperature control zone oriented in the second direction has a setpoint temperature that is different from a set point temperature of one other temperature control zone oriented in the second direction, wherein the first direction is a vertical direction and the second direction is a horizontal direction.

Method for drying columnar honeycomb formed body and method for producing columnar honeycomb structure
