Cord Collection Clamp
The present disclosure provides an apparatus, and methods of using same, for collecting blood from an umbilical cord in a sterile environment that includes an umbilical cord retaining assembly and a blood collection assembly rotatably connected to the umbilical cord retaining assembly. A cord cutting blade, which is carried by the blood collection assembly, functions to cut the umbilical cord when the blood collection assembly is rotated relative to the umbilical cord retaining assembly. After the umbilical cord is cut, blood flows by force of gravity into the blood collection region of the blood collection assembly to which a blood collection bag can be interconnected.
BODILY FLUID MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
In some embodiments, an external bladder management system that is configured to reside within a urine collection receptacle (e.g., a toilet) includes a body that houses a fluid testing chamber. The fluid testing chamber is fluidically coupled to a fluid inlet and a fluid outlet. The system further includes a fluid capturing funnel fluidically coupled to and extending from the body and configured to couple the body to the urine collection receptacle. The system further includes an optical sensor disposed within the body and including (1) an emitter configured to convey light across the fluid testing chamber, and (2) an optical detector capable of measuring an intensity of the light as the light exits the fluid testing chamber. The fluid inlet, fluid testing chamber, and fluid outlet are collectively configured to encourage a laminar flow profile of the fluid as it flows through the fluid testing chamber.
Ostomy appliance having an anti-reflux component
An ostomy appliance has a waste collection container and an anti-reflux component disposed inside of the waste collection container. The anti-reflux component is connected to the top end portion of the waste collection container only above a center of an inlet opening for a stoma.
Collapsible Mobile Urine Container
A collapsible mobile urine container includes a container body made of malleable polymeric material having a body wall comprised of a bag or a tube, and a support member being a wire coil. The container further includes a shell having a top, a bottom, and a hinge, and the shell is configured to enclose the container body. The container body is configured to be collapsible such that it is collapsed in a first state and extended in a second state. A method of using a collapsible mobile urine container includes providing a collapsible mobile urine container, opening the container shell, extending the container body to the second state, positioning the container body relative to a user to collect urine, and collecting urine during a urination event.
FLUID CONTAINERS AND SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR DETECTING A FLUID LEVEL THEREIN
Fluid containers having a volume marking(s) and conductive element(s) disposed at the volume marking(s) and a common conductive element are provided. For example, the fluid container has a wall forming the volume. The conductive element(s) and the common conductive element have a portion disposed within the volume and a portion external to the volume. The container further has a RFID tag, where the conductive element(s) and the common conductive element are connected thereto via respective conductive wires. A fluid detection system having the fluid containers is also provided. The system comprises one or more containers and a patient site monitor having a RF reader that interrogates the RFID tag at a preset interval. Responsive to the signal, the tag supplies a predetermined current to the conductive element and the common conductive element and detects a voltage and generates an alert based on the same.
Sterile urinary catheter package with dispensing system
A packaged closed intermittent urinary catheter system equipped with a dispensing system and method of dispensing a packaged catheter using the dispensing system. The dispensing system is a pair of separately translatable movement control devices, each operably engaging the catheter for permitting unidirectional movement of the catheter in a first axial direction relative to the movement control devices. The movement control devices may be mounted to a hand-grippable assembly with a sliding or pivoting movable member reciprocal to a base member. Alternatively, the movement control devices are mounted to a coupling member and a spring member biases them apart.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR ANALYZING SPENT DIALYSATE
An apparatus used in analyzing spent dialysate includes: at least one surface configured to accommodate a dialysate drain bag or drain line in a predetermined position; a light source positioned to emit light through the dialysate drain bag or drain line; and a light sensor positioned to sense light emitted by the light source through the dialysate drain bag or drain line.
BODILY FLUID DRAINAGE ASSEMBLY
A bodily fluid drainage assembly can include a fluid bag and one or more covers. The assembly can include one or more volume indicators from which an approximate volume of a bodily fluid that is retained within can be ascertained. In some arrangements, a cover includes a volume indicator that defines an opening through which a transparent or semitransparent portion of the bag can be viewed.
DEVICE FOR COLLECTING MATERIAL FROM A BODY CAVITY
A collector for fecal discharge is provided comprising a self-expanding resilient collection component, a housing sheath and a transit component. The collection component has an open proximal and distal end and a lumen connecting them. The component comprises interconnected resilient arms circumscribing its contour, wherein adjacent arms are resiliently biased away from each other for exerting outwardly radial pressure for expanding and anchoring the component to rectal walls upon deployment. The housing sheath comprises a flexible and resilient material overlaying at least one of inner or outer contour of collection component without interfering with or blocking its ends or lumen. The transit component provides a conduit for fecal discharge to migrate from collection component to a receptacle and comprises a flexible, tubular sheath having a first open end connected to a second end by a lumen, wherein the first end engages with the proximal end of the collection component.
Device set designed for PCNL surgery
A device set designed for PCNL surgery includes a puncture needle, a guidewire, a dilator, a balloon catheter, a sheath, and a drainage catheter which are all placed in a single package. A tip length of the dilator is substantially the same as a tip length of the balloon catheter. The device set may include a puncture needle, a guidewire, a plurality of dilators having different sizes, a sheath, and a drainage catheter, which are all placed in a single package, wherein all the dilators have substantially the same tip length.
