POSTPARTUM BLOOD LOSS COLLECTION AND MEASUREMENT DEVICE, AND METHOD OF USE
Devices and methods for collecting and measuring postpartum blood loss of a patient are disclosed. The device generally includes a tray that may be positioned under a patient and a basin configured to collect blood. The basin can include gradation markings to facilitate accurate, real-time measurements of the amount of blood that the patient has lost to guide decision making of medical personnel.
CLAMPING DEVICE FOR MEDICAL APPARATUS
The invention relates to a clamping device for clamping a flexible tube having a bearing element with a bearing surface and a clamping element with a clamping surface. The clamping element moves between an obturation position and a closed position. In the obturation position the flexible tube is placed is along the bearing surface and the clamping surface is obstructed. In the closed position the bearing surface and the clamping surface are in contact, and a control unit is configured to actuate the clamping element from the open position towards the closed position until it is blocked. The device detects the position of the blocked clamping element and determines the presence or absence of a flexible tube according to the position of the detected clamping element.
Dynamic Pressure Response and Catheter Occlusion System
Embodiments disclosed herein are directed to a dynamic response drainage and occlusion system configured to drain a fluid from a patient. The drainage system includes an input airflow device to provide airflow into the drainage lumen, a pressure sensor to measure pressure within the drainage tube, and an output airflow device to provide airflow out of the drainage tube. A controller including control logic configured to acquire pressure data from the pressure sensor, determine a running pressure rate-of-change from the acquired pressure data, compare the running pressure rate-of-change with a pressure rate-of-change defined by the control logic, and adjust an operating characteristic of at least one of the input airflow device and the output airflow device to move the running pressure rate-of-change toward the pressure rate-of-change defined by the control logic. The system further includes catheter occlusions systems to automatically protect the patient from pressure spikes within the system.
Forward osmosis medical and wound care devices
Devices and methods herein remove water from human or animal biological waste fluids using one or more forward osmosis filters. The devices allow for the volume of liquid or semi-liquid waste, including potentially infectious liquid waste, to be filtered to reduce potential exposure of healthcare staff to infectious liquid waste. On a hospital, healthcare staff, or individual patient basis, removing water and concentrating the waste can reduce challenges in management and disposal of the waste. Devices herein use forward osmosis to manage and filter, using one or more suitably sized filter(s), biological fluid exudate from wounds. The devices can be constructed to transport water present in the exudate away from a wound. The wound treatment devices herein not only allow for fluid from wounds to be filtered but also provide structures that can protect wounds from external contaminants, including bacteria and viruses. The wound treatment devices can be incorporated into negative pressure wound therapy systems, if desired.
Systems for supporting medical fluid bags and related methods
This disclosure relates to systems for supporting medical fluid bags and related methods. In some implementations, a system includes a curved tray configured to support a medical fluid bag during a medical treatment, the curved tray including a plurality of openings therethrough, a medical fluid collection basin removably coupled to the curved tray and configured to collect medical fluid leaked from the medical fluid bag during the medical treatment, a leak detector coupled to a surface of the medical fluid collection basin and configured to detect fluid as leaked from the medical fluid bag into the medical fluid collection basin, and a control unit configured to receive treatment data related to the medical treatment.

The wound treatment devices can be incorporated into negative pressure wound therapy systems, if desired.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR ANALYZING SPENT DIALYSATE
An apparatus used in analyzing spent dialysate includes: at least one surface configured to accommodate a dialysate drain bag or drain line in a predetermined position; a light source positioned to emit light through the dialysate drain bag or drain line; and a light sensor positioned to sense light emitted by the light source through the dialysate drain bag or drain line.
Dual drainage bag, assemblies, and related methods
Devices used to collect bodily fluids are disclosed. The devices may include a fluid bag and a transformable hanger for mounting the fluid bag to a support structure such as a hospital bed rail. The fluid bag can include a first fluid compartment and a second fluid compartment. The devices may further include a displaceable front cover and a back cover to obscure the bodily fluids from observation.
FLUID COLLECTION
An apparatus and method for collecting fluid are disclosed. The apparatus includes a body portion comprising a fluid inlet and an outlet, an expandable container secured to the body portion, at least one wicking element extending from within the body portion into the container, and at least one super absorber element arranged inside the container.
Method and devices for emptying an effluent bag after blood treatment
The present disclosure relates to an effluent bag for collecting accumulated blood treatment effluent. The effluent bag comprises a closeable effluent opening or connection to an exterior of the effluent bag. The disclosure further relates to methods, a blood treatment apparatus, and a discharge hose system.
