NASAL SUCTION INSTRUMENT WITH INTERCHANGEABLE TIP INSERT
A suction instrument includes a proximal end, a distal end configured to be positioned within or adjacent to an anatomical passageway of a patient, and a suction lumen extending between the proximal and distal ends. The suction lumen is configured to provide suction at the distal end. A navigation sensor is disposed along a portion of the suction lumen and is operable to generate an electrical signal corresponding to a location of the portion within the patient. A coupling feature is disposed at the proximal end and is configured to releasably couple the proximal end with a body.
Comfortable undergarment disposable drain lift
Systems and methods provide for holding surgical drain evacuators in inelastic expandable pouches. Particularly, apparatuses and methods include or utilize garments for supporting and protecting surgical drain evacuators and surgical drains include straps or belts for attaching the garment to a patient. The garments include one or more expandable pouches configured to receive a surgical drain evacuator, wherein the expandable pouch is formed of a flexible inelastic material.
Automated Urinary Output Monitoring System
Disclosed herein is an automated urinary output monitoring system including urine collection assembly that includes a first drainage tube coupled between a urinary catheter and an interim container, and a second drainage coupled between the interim container and a final container. A scale measures the weight of urine collected in the final container and a display depicts the volume of urine collected in the final container. A vacuum pump can be coupled with the final container to draw urine from the interim container into the final container, and an air vent can isolate the patient from the vacuum within the final container. The system can be configured to wirelessly transmit urine volume data to an external computing device. A gyroscope can be coupled with the scale to determine the orientation of the scale. Logic of the system can calculate urine volume and correlate with the time of day.
METHODS FOR CANCER TREATMENT
The present invention relates to novel surgical drains and associated methods and systems. Specifically, the present invention includes a surgical drain with at least two ports. A first port drains lymphatic fluid from a subject for collection and analysis. The second port functions to introduce a therapeutic into the subject.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR NASAL IRRIGATION
Systems and methods for nasal irrigation are provided in which a nasal irrigation device includes a source of saline solution, an effluent receptacle, a nasal interface, a vacuum source, a fluid passageway to communicate the source of saline solution with the effluent receptacle through the nasal interface and a nasal cavity of the user, and a switch and valve assembly for selectively controlling the vacuum source and flow of the saline solution through the fluid passageway. The saline solution source bottle is disposed relative to the device to provide gravitational inducement of saline solution to the nasal interface in engagement to the device user's nostrils. A combination of the gravitational inducement and the relative vacuum from an effluent receptacle generates a fluid flow for irrigating, cleansing and massaging the nasal cavity and ostia of a user. The entire device is assembled as a hand-held device for convenient lifting and disposal against the user's nostrils.
SUSTAINED DRAIN SYSTEM CIRCUIT AND QUALITY CONTROL SYSTEM THEREFOR
A sustained drain system circuit and a sustained drain quality control system are constructed in which no mechanical or electrical driving and control mechanism is required at all, siphoning automatically occurs when some volume of urine is retained in the urinary bladder by the mass of urine, its potential energy, intrinsic pressure of filling and contraction of the urinary bladder, and abdominal pressure, and sustained drain continues even with a portion with a height difference higher than a drain source. In the sustained drain system circuit, a fluid is caused to be sustainedly drained by siphoning from an intracorporeal elastic closed space that can extend and contract as a drain source. The circuit is a siphoning circuit in which an inner diameter of a pipe space is designed so that a siphoning volume condition is satisfied and the fluid is drained as filling without a gap.
Dressing with bolster for linear tissue sites
Dressings for closing an opening through a surface of a tissue site are described. The dressing includes a cover adapted to form a sealed space over the opening and a bolster. The bolster is adapted to be positioned adjacent the opening and includes a first plurality of holes. The holes have an average width to length ratio causing the plurality of holes to collapse in a direction substantially perpendicular to the opening. Systems, apparatuses, kits and methods including and/or using the dressing for closing the opening are also described.
Outflow collection vessels, systems, and components thereof for hysteroscopic surgical procedures
A collection system for collecting outflow from a hysteroscopic surgical procedure includes a collection vessel and a mounting stand. The collection vessel defines an internal volume and includes a top portion and a bottom portion. The collection vessel is transitionable between a collapsed configuration and an expanded configuration. The mounting stand includes an upper retainer and a lower retainer. The upper retainer of the mounting stand is configured to retain the top portion of the collection vessel and the lower retainer of the mounting stand is configured to retain the bottom portion of the collection vessel. The upper and lower retainers are configured to retain the collection vessel thereon in the expanded configuration.
AUTOMATIC FLUID DRAINAGE DEVICE
An automatic drainage device comprises a drainage container separated by a partition plate into a fluid storage cavity provided with a connecting pipe and a fluid discharge channel provided with a fluid discharge outlet. The partition plate is provided with a fluid drainage outlet that connects the fluid storage cavity to the fluid discharge channel. The device further comprises a movable gasket disposed below the partition plate for closing the fluid drainage outlet, and a control device comprising a remote control receiving module or a control device configured to monitor a liquid level in the fluid storage cavity, to move the movable gasket to open or close the fluid drainage outlet. The automatic drainage device remotely activates the control device by a remote control receiving module or by monitoring the status of the liquid level, to control the opening and closing of the fluid drainage outlet.
System for drainage of fluids or wound secretion
The invention relates to a system for drainage of fluids or wound secretion from body and/or tissue openings of the human or animal body comprising a bag-like reservoir for collecting the fluid or wound secretion, with an upper inlet opening and a lower outlet opening, and a pre-evacuated container with an inlet opening, wherein the inlet opening of the pre-evacuated container is connected to the lower outlet opening of the bag-shaped reservoir.
