Tubing management members and urine collection systems using the same
Embodiments described herein are directed to tubing management members and urine collection systems including such tubing management members. In an embodiment, a tubing management member may be coupled and, in some embodiments, removably coupled to a drainage tube of the urine collection system. The tubing management member may include a plurality of attachment elements for attaching the tubing management member to the drainage tube.
Medical tube clearance device
Methods and devices for actuating a clearance device to clear obstructive debris from medical tubes are disclosed. More particularly, a shuttle that includes a first primary magnetic element that is adapted to magnetically engage and translate a magnetic guide within a tube is disclosed. The first primary magnetic element is aligned so that a first primary magnetic field emanating therefrom is aligned substantially perpendicular to a longitudinal axis of the tube when viewed from a side of the shuttle.
DEVICE AND METHOD FOR CLEARING TUBING
A device for moving contents of a tube by acting on the exterior of the tube is provided. The device includes a housing having a tube passageway extending along a length thereof for holding a tube therein. A first roller and a second roller are moveable between a first position and a second position and configured to compress the tube in the second position. A first roller chassis is coupled to the housing for mounting the first roller therein and a second roller chassis is coupled to the housing for mounting the second roller therein. The first and second roller chassis are moveable between a first position in which the tube is disengaged and a second position in which the tube is engaged. A lever operably coupled to the housing causes the first or second roller to pivot and engage the tube positioned within the passageway.
ANALYTICAL METHOD FOR CONTROLLED AND MEASURED INTERNAL FLUID AFTER SURGERY
A system and apparatus for the collection of serous or serosanguinous fluid from a percutaneous site after surgery. A pump unit with one or more pumps or powered sources provide continuous negative pressure suction to draw fluid from the percutaneous site and pumps the fluid into disposable reservoirs with one-way valves that are easy to handle while maintaining sterility and a seal to prevent the loss of vacuum. Air is continuously removed from the reservoirs. Measurement and analysis of the output is performed automatically. Additionally, through such a peristaltic pump device, controlled collection of measured surgical and/or bodily fluid from a subject patient may be undertaken allowing for more effective and closer analysis, as well.
ANTI-CLOG SUCTION TIP APPARATUS AND METHODS
Various forms of anti-clog suction tips apparatus are disclosed. An exemplary anti-clog suction tip apparatus includes a suction tip assembly having a suction tip with a suction opening at a first end thereof for removing debris through suction, a hose attachment portion for attaching the suction tip assembly to a suction source, and an ejection wire channel. The apparatus further includes an ejection wire assembly having an ejection wire extending within the channel and an ejection button integral with or connected to the ejection wire. Applying a force to the ejection button advances the ejection wire through the channel such that an end portion of the ejection wire enters the suction tip and dislodges debris clogging the suction tip. The ejection wire may include an enlarged end portion such as, for example a ball tip. One or more of the components of the apparatus may be single-use and disposable.
System And Method To Clear Conduits Of Fluids After Instillation To A Wound
A wound therapy system and method for clearing fluids from a conduit includes a wound dressing apparatus, a pneumatic pump, a valve, and a controller. The wound dressing apparatus is fluidly coupled to a wound, the pump, and the valve. The controller is configured to determine a volume of instillation fluid that has been delivered to the wound, to operate the pneumatic pump and the valve to apply a negative pressure to the wound dressing apparatus to purge a first portion of the instillation fluid, and to operate the pneumatic pump and the valve during a purge operation to deliver a volume of air through the wound dressing apparatus that is approximately equal to or greater than the volume of instillation fluid to purge a second portion of the instillation fluid from the wound dressing apparatus.
Connector for In-Line Selective Occlusion of Drainage Tube
Embodiments disclosed herein are directed to a connector for a fluid drainage system for fluidly coupling a catheter to a drainage tube. The connector includes a body defining a drainage lumen extending along a longitudinal axis from a distal portion to a proximal portion. The connector also includes a positive air pressure inlet and a valve slidably engaged with a valve housing along the longitudinal axis between a first position and a second position. The valve in the first position provides fluid communication between the distal portion and the proximal portion of the drainage lumen, and the valve in the second position occludes fluid communication between the proximal portion and the distal portion of the drainage lumen. Pressurized air provided at the inlet can transition the valve to the second position and clear any dependent loops within the drainage lumen.
Connector for Selective Occlusion of Drainage Tube
Embodiments disclosed herein are directed to a connector for a fluid drainage having a body defining a drainage lumen extending longitudinally from a distal portion to a proximal portion. The body can include a piston housing and an inlet in fluid communication with a positive air pressure source. A piston is slidably engaged with the piston housing along a transverse axis between a first position and a second position. In the first position, the piston provides fluid communication between the distal portion and the proximal portion of the drainage lumen and occludes fluid communication between the inlet and the drainage lumen. The piston in the second position occludes fluid communication between the distal portion and the proximal portion of the drainage lumen and provides fluid communication between the inlet and the drainage lumen to clear dependent loops, while preventing distal fluid flow into a catheter.
Urinary Drainage System with Air Pressure Apparatus
A urinary drainage system is disclosed herein. The urinary drainage system can include an air pressure apparatus with a connector having an elongate connector body. The connector includes a lumen having a larger proximal lumen diameter and a smaller distal lumen diameter. The system includes an air intake adapter having an elongate adapter body, including a proximal end having a proximal opening configured to be coupled to the distal end of the connector. The adapter can include an air intake port in fluid communication with the adapter lumen, the adapter lumen having a larger proximal lumen diameter and a smaller distal lumen diameter.
