LAPAROSCOPIC FLEXIBLE SUCTION DEVICE AND ASSOCIATED METHODOLOGY
20220031296 · 2022-02-03 · ·

A laparoscopic flexible suction/irrigation device of the present invention encases a inner rigid cannula with an outer flexible cannula. Upon translating the distal end of outer flexible cannula beyond the distal end of the inner rigid cannula, the outer flexible cannula returns to a preexisting curvilinear shape. This curved extension can thereafter be positioned via a proximal handle to concavities within the surgical site for precise and effective fluid retraction.

TRANSABDOMINAL GASTRIC DRAINAGE DEVICE AND FACILITATOR
20220304897 · 2022-09-29 · ·

A gastric drainage device includes a tube with a drainage lumen and a hub to receive an inflation device. The tube includes an intragastric portion having a set of holes to permit gastrointestinal contents to pass from a stomach cavity into the drainage lumen. The gastric drainage device includes a bolster with a cylindrical port to receive the tube and a disc to hold the tube in place on a skin side of a gastrostomy site. The gastric drainage device includes a balloon formed around the intragastric portion of the tube, wherein the balloon and the intragastric portion of the tube may be passed through the gastrostomy site into the stomach cavity while the balloon is deflated. Accordingly, the balloon is inflatable within the stomach cavity using the inflation device to secure the gastric drainage device at the gastrostomy site while the gastrointestinal contents are drained from the stomach cavity.

CATHETER, SHEATH OR DILATOR FOR HEART VALVE DECALCIFICATION TREATMENT AND METHOD OF USE THEREOF
20220304749 · 2022-09-29 ·

A deflectable sheath or dilator or catheter used for cardiac procedures; it has a shaft with one or more lumens; an optical fiber for use in channeling light used for visualization of calcification, heart tissue architecture or the progress of the cardiac procedure; the sheath or dilator or catheter includes an additional optical fiber for use as part of an ultrafast laser for calcium removal on or in heart valve tissue or for performing surgical intervention of the heart, or where the optical fiber is configurable for propagating a photon beam as part of an ultrafast laser for removing calcium on or in heart valve tissue or for performing surgical intervention of the heart.

Body cavity irrigation and drainage system and method

A body cavity irrigation and drainage system and a related method. The body cavity irrigation and drainage system may include two pigtail catheters that are coupled together so that when in a use state the tail portions of the two pigtail catheters curl in opposite directions. The two pigtail catheters may be coupled together so that they are maintained in a fixed relative orientation. The system may also include a sheath having a cavity within which both of the two pigtail catheters are positioned during an insertion process. The sheath may be a peel-away type sheath such that the sheath can be torn and removed from the body cavity while the two pigtail catheters remain in the body cavity.

Vacuum Chamber with Snap Fit Plunger Mechanism
20220305189 · 2022-09-29 · ·

A drainage system includes a vacuum chamber to receive drainage liquid from a drainage tube. The chamber can include an input port coupled with the drainage tube and a drain port coupled with a collection container. The system can include an air pump having an input coupled with a vacuum port of the vacuum chamber and a distal end of the drainage tube. Activation of the air pump can establish circulating fluid flow between the drainage tube and the vacuum chamber, and deactivation of the air pump can permit drainage liquid to drain from the vacuum chamber into the output tube. Also disclosed is a method of draining liquid from a patient, including accumulating a volume of the drainage liquid at a first location along a drainage pathway, moving the volume to a second location, accumulating the volume at the second location, and moving the volume to a collection container.

FLUID COLLECTION SYSTEM INCLUDING A COMPRESSIBLE SUCTION DEVICE AND RELATED METHODS

Examples relate to fluid collection systems and methods of use of the system. The fluid collection system may include a fluid collection device configured to receive fluid discharged from a user, a fluid collection container in fluid communication with the fluid collection device configured to collect the fluid and a suction device in fluid communication with the fluid collection device and the fluid collection container. The suction device is compressible and configured to draw fluid from the fluid collection device into the fluid collection container solely responsive to mechanical actuation of the suction device.

According to some embodiments, a skin treatment assembly comprises a tip comprising a proximal end and a distal end, a container configured to secure to the tip along the proximal end of the tip, wherein the container is configured to contain a liquid, and a porous member configured to extend at least partially within an interior of the container such that it contact a liquid contained within the container, wherein the porous member is configured to extend at least partially within an interior of the tip and is configured to facilitate the transfer of liquid from the container to the distal end of the tip.

Apparatus for administering fluid to a medical tube
09726682 · 2017-08-08 · ·

An apparatus for use in tube feeding has a cylindrical body provided with first opening and second openings connected by a flow channel. The body has a reagent, for determining a characteristic of fluid disposed in the body and a transparent window to view the reagent. In use, a first end of an internal feeding tube releasably engages with the first opening. The second, distal end of the feeding tube is disposed inside a patient. A second feeding tube engages with the second opening. The second feeding tube connects the apparatus to a bi-directional pump operable: to pump internal fluid from a reservoir, through the apparatus and into the internal feeding tube; and to pump fluid from the patient into the body of the apparatus. This allows a user to pump fluid from the patient into the body of the apparatus to react with the reagent.
