The body portion is formed from a plastically deformable material such that the body portion can be bent between the proximal and distal ends from a first configuration to a second bent configuration and maintains the bent configuration. A flexible circuit having at least a pair of lead wires disposed around the body portion. The pair of lead wires are configured to conform to the bent configuration of the body portion such that they do not break during bending of the body portion. A tracking device adapted to cooperate with a navigation system to track the distal end of the instrument is coupled to the flexible circuit.

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR FILTERING

Embodiments of the present disclosure provide a method and apparatus for filtering and surgical procedures. An exemplary apparatus includes an evacuation tube having a filter, a long axis and a hollow conduit extending through the long axis, the hollow conduit fluidly connecting a tube inlet and a tube outlet, the filter located within the hollow conduit operable to remove particles from a flow passing through the hollow conduit from the tube inlet to the tube outlet.

NASAL SUCTION INSTRUMENT WITH INTERCHANGEABLE TIP INSERT

A suction instrument includes a proximal end, a distal end configured to be positioned within or adjacent to an anatomical passageway of a patient, and a suction lumen extending between the proximal and distal ends. The suction lumen is configured to provide suction at the distal end. A navigation sensor is disposed along a portion of the suction lumen and is operable to generate an electrical signal corresponding to a location of the portion within the patient. A coupling feature is disposed at the proximal end and is configured to releasably couple the proximal end with a body.

RETRACTOR
20230081235 · 2023-03-16 ·

A retractor for retracting tissue and suctioning fluids, having a handle and a blade and a fluid passage therethrough connecting to a suction source, the fluid passage directing suction to perforations in the blade through which undesirable fluids, including surgical plume, may be evacuated. The retractor may be, in whole or part, transparent to observe suctioning. The blade may include a fanned tip for wide tissue-engagement. One or more perforations in the fanned tip may create a wide field of suction. Other perforations in the blade may present suction at differing elevations with respect to the surgical field. The handle may include one or more thumb/finger depressions for improved grip and maneuverability. The handle may include knurling ridges to reduce slippage. When not in use for retraction, the retractor may be clipped to another retractor where it may still suction fluids without being held.

Tissue closure

A device for fastening tissue includes (a) a shaft extending longitudinally from a distal end insertable into a body to a proximal end attached to a controller which remains outside of the body, the shaft including a lumen extending therethrough and an opening extending through a wall of a distal portion thereof to open the lumen to an exterior of the shaft; (b) a first roller housed within the lumen adjacent to a first longitudinal edge of the opening such that a rotation of the first roller grasps and draws tissue from the body into the lumen in combination; and (c) a fastening element housed within the lumen adjacent to the opening and movable from a tissue receiving configuration to a tissue gripping configuration.

Medical Tubing Arrangement Comprising a Valve
20230072783 · 2023-03-09 ·

A medical tubing arrangement comprises a length of tubing having at least a first end defining a first opening, and a check valve provided at the first end, spaced a predefined distance from the first opening, the check valve being of a resiliently deformable material and having at least one resiliently deformable flap, wherein the check valve is normally closed and, when closed, is configured to block flow of fluid out of the first opening. The medical tubing arrangement is configured to be connected to a suction apparatus by placing the first end over a suction port of the suction apparatus such that the at least one flap is configured to be urged inwardly by the suction port to open the check valve and permit flow of fluid through the valve and into the suction port, and removal of the suction port from the first end permits the at least one flap to close, thereby inhibiting flow of fluid through the check valve.

Rapid aspiration thrombectomy system and method

An intravascular access system for facilitation of intraluminal medical procedures within the neurovasculature through an access sheath. The system includes an aspiration or support catheter having a flexible, distal luminal portion having an inner diameter defining a lumen extending between a proximal opening at a proximal end of the luminal portion and a distal opening at a distal end of the luminal portion. The catheter has a rigid spine coupled to at least the proximal end of the luminal portion and extending proximally therefrom. The system includes a dilator having a flexible, distal dilator portion sized to be received within the lumen of the luminal portion. Associated systems, devices, and methods of use are also described.

Vacuum transfer tool for extendable catheter

An aspiration catheter is provided including a proximal section and a distal section extendable through the proximal section. A vacuum transfer tool may be coupled to a proximal end of the proximal section. The vacuum transfer tool may include a proximal transfer tube and a distal transfer tube, each having an aspiration port in communication with a vacuum source. The proximal transfer tube may be removably received within a proximal end of the distal transfer tube. The proximal transfer tube may maintain a vacuum around the proximal end of the distal section of the catheter such that when the distal section is removed by decoupling the proximal and distal transfer tubes, the vacuum within the distal transfer tube and proximal section of the catheter is maintained, preventing the escape of any clots.
