AN APPARATUS FOR PROCESSING BIOLOGICAL MATERIAL
An apparatus for processing biological material includes a supporting structure, provided with a seat and with a rotation device supplied with constraining means, and a container for biological material, provided with a shaped body, with a base, shaped to match the seat of the supporting structure, with at least one valve (24a) for extracting the biological material, and with movable cutting means equipped with coupling means for coupling to the constraining means of the rotation device, in such a way as to acquire a relative motion relative to the container.
Device and method for resizing adipose tissue for implantation
A deagglomerator for use in resizing masses of cells. The deagglomerator may include a plurality of apertures defined by a plurality of front and back edges. The masses of cells may be passed through the plurality of apertures from the front to the back, and from the back to the front, repeatedly. The deagglomerator may also include a plurality of blades that may aid in the deagglomeration of the cell masses. The deagglomerator may be configured between two syringes so that the tissue may be passed back and forth from the first syringe through the device to the second syringe, and then back again from the second syringe through the device and to the first syringe. In this way, the masses of cells may be properly deagglomerated.
System and method to vent gas from a body cavity
One aspect of the invention is a method to vent gas from a body cavity during an endoscopic procedure. A body cavity is in fluid communication with an exhaust gas inlet of a vacuum break device. The vacuum break device has a chamber in fluid communication with both the inlet and an outlet. The chamber may comprise one or more openings in fluid communication with the atmosphere. A conduit in fluid communication with the exhaust gas outlet may be connected directly or indirectly to a suction source. The suction source may be activated.
PORTABLE NEGATIVE-PRESSURE DEVICE
A portable negative-pressure device including a housing, a piston, a barrier layer and a spring means for forming a first collection chamber and a second collection chamber having a variable volume to form a pressure-reducing region is provided. In the situation of that the exudates have been stored in the first collection chamber, the portable negative-pressure device can still maintain a sufficient negative pressure by continuously compressing the piston, and the second collection chamber will provide an additional liquid storage space.
Female smart wearable system for urine incontinence management
A female smart wearable system for management of urine incontinence comprising of a female urinary external catheter to allow urine to drain without obstruction, provided with a stabilizer for supporting and bounding/confining the external catheter in the contour of female genitalia and a urine collection device which is either having a plurality of vertical chambers for collecting urine as well as supplying fluid to keep the subject clean in a more convenient and hygienic way or is having a disposable pad for female subject with moderate or low urinary incontinence. The female smart wearable system is worn by the female subject in an underwear integrated with plurality of sensors that provide data to help in understanding and preventing the problem of urine incontinence. The female smart wearable system integrates provision of washing inside the device and use of disposable pads makes it cost effective and reusable.
Tissue processing apparatus, a filter and a method for processing tissue therefrom
A tissue processing apparatus, a filter and a method for processing tissue therefrom #! The problem to be solved is to provide a portable apparatus for processing harvested fat to form a good quality graft that does not clog syringes, and the problem is solved by providing an apparatus as in the present invention with a filter that is inclined to the base of the apparatus and comprises of plurality of elongated protrusion that are structured at an angle on the surface of the filter and blocks the fibres when the harvested fat moves on the inclined surface of the filter, thereby filtering the harvested fat and avoiding clogging of syringes.
EXPANDABLE FLUID COLLECTION CANISTER
A bodily fluid collection system includes a reduced pressure treatment unit for providing reduced pressure to a fluid collection system through a canister having a container with an inlet adapted to be fluidly coupled to the fluid collection system, an outlet adapted to be connected to a source of reduced pressure, and an absorptive lamination disposed within the container. The absorptive lamination may be formed from a plurality of absorptive layers and wicking layers interleaved between the absorptive layers that collectively manifold bodily fluids from a tissue site into and throughout the absorptive lamination to trap and collect the bodily fluids. The container expands as the absorptive lamination swells with the bodily fluid being collected.
CANISTER FOR A MOBILE NEGATIVE PRESSURE WOUND THERAPY DEVICE
Disclosed is a canister for a mobile negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT) device, specifically adapted for ensuring prolonged uninterrupted use of the NPWT device. Also disclosed is a corresponding NPWT device that includes the canister.
Process and system for fluid management during reinjection of adipose tissue
The invention is a process and system, consisting of a reinjection pump, connecting tubing, a reinjection cannula and a recipient site, with fluid management features including a peristaltic pump head and controls for pressure limits, flow rates and flow distribution wherein the process of controlling the reinjected fat and fluid is unique because of the control of flow rates, pressures, matching cannula hole sizes, and maintaining a closed continuous system where the harvesting and reinjection is done all together with a completely closed system. The process utilizes a method and control system to manage pressure levels during reinjection procedures of viable soft tissue. Although this case specifically relates to its use in the reinjection of adipose fat and other tissue back into the body during liposuction procedures, it can be applied to any medical procedure of introducing or re-introducing materials into the body.
SYSTEM FOR DETERMINING COMPONENTS OF MATTER REMOVED FROM A LIVING BODY AND RELATED METHODS
A system for determining components of matter removed from a body includes a container for receiving the matter, a device for weighing the container and the matter therein, an instrument for obtaining information relating to determine the components of the matter based in part on a weight of the matter determined by said device and the information relating to the at least one aspect of the matter obtained by said instrument. A display includes a screen for displaying information relating to the matter provided by said processer. The information may include a height and/or a color of the matter among other aspects. An insert containing an absorbent material may be utilized to separate fat cells from a fluid when liposuction is used to remove the matter. The insert may be porous allowing fluid to enter the absorption.
