METHODS FOR MANUFACTURING NON-GLASS PREFILLED SYRINGES
A method of sterilizing a prefilled syringe comprises assembling a syringe assembly and performing at least one ethylene oxide (EtO) sterilization procedure cycle. The assembling step includes inserting a tip cap at a first end of a plunger, filling a non-glass barrel with sterilization sensitive material at a second end of the barrel, and inserting the plunger into the barrel at a second end to seal the sterilization sensitive material within the barrel. The EtO sterilization procedure cycle comprises undergoing a preprocessing stage, a wash and conditioning stage, an EtO sterilization stage and a wash and post exposure stage. Upon completing the EtO sterilization procedure cycle, a resultant pH of the sterilization-sensitive material does not exceed an acceptable pH range as defined by the United States Pharmacopeia. The disclosure also discusses inserting an assembled prefilled syringe into a procedure tray prior to performing the EtO sterilization procedure cycle.
MEDICAL APPARATUS PACKAGE
A package for components of a medical apparatus comprising a plurality of panels defining a container having an interior space. A first component of the medical apparatus is disposed within the interior space. The first component of the medical apparatus comprises a medicament delivery device. At least one of said plurality of panels comprises a lid panel. The lid panel is secured in a closed position, in which it at least partially encloses the interior space, by a further component of the medical apparatus being bonded across an edge of the lid panel. Also disclosed is a medical apparatus comprising such a package with a container of medicament within the interior space of the container.

A self-cleaning needleless connector may include a connector body defining a fluid passageway including an inlet and an outlet, a cover disposed over at least the inlet of the connector body, an access point disposed at an inlet end of the cover, where in a first position the inlet is within the cover and in an second position the inlet is extended beyond the cover and configured to receive a male luer, a reservoir containing a cleaning agent, and an abrasive surface located in the cover that is in fluid communication with the cleaning agent, where the abrasive surface and the cleaning agent are configured to contact an exterior surface of the inlet to create friction.

A manufacturing method of two-chamber type combined container-syringe including: a vacuum plugging process (S2) of eliminating air bubbles from the dissolving solution of the dissolving solution-filled cartridge and sealing the dissolving solution with a middle stopper after the dissolving solution filling process (S1); a vacuum plugging process (S2) has a first cooling processing (S21) of cooling the inside of a vacuum plugging equipment in which a dissolving solution-filled cartridge is disposed to a cooling temperature that does not freeze the dissolving solution, a first decompression processing (S23) of decreasing a pressure inside the vacuum plugging equipment while the vacuum plugging equipment maintains the cooling temperature after the first cooling processing (S21), and a middle stopper pushing processing (S24) of pushing the middle stopper downward and bringing the middle stopper into contact with the dissolving solution after the first decompression processing (S23). The dissolving solution can be easily filled in a bubble-free state in the two-chamber type combined container-syringe.
Multi-chamber injection device
A multi-chamber injection device includes multiple syringes. The multiple syringes may be arrayed in a circular, linear, or other format. In some implementations, a needle, port, or similar may be shared by all the syringes in configuration that allows only one syringe to deliver contents at a time while blocking the other syringes from delivering their respective contents. In some implementations, the syringes may be all stored in the same container. One or more of the chambers of a multi-chamber injection device may be preloaded with medication. Different medications may be loaded into different chambers. The medications may be selected to treat the same medical condition.
Syringe barrel and pre-filled syringe
A syringe barrel includes: a hollow body portion that is configured such that a gasket is slidably insertable therein. The syringe barrel is made of a resin that has a total light transmittance of 80% or more. A scale is disposed at an inner circumferential surface or an outer circumferential surface of the body portion, the scale being visible from an outside of the syringe barrel and being configured to indicate a liquid amount. The scale is formed by (i) a stepped structure having a step height in a range of 0.001 to 0.15 mm in a radial direction, and/or (ii) an embossment.
