Foam-in-bag systems and components thereof
A system for opening and closing a mixing manifold includes a drive motor, a cam plate, and a valving rod connector. The drive motor imparts movement in first and second directions. Movement imparted in the first direction causes the cam plate to move linearly in a third direction and movement imparted in the second direction causes the cam plate to move linearly in a fourth direction. Movement of the cam plate in the third direction causes the valving rod connector to move linearly in a fifth direction and movement of the cam plate in the fourth direction causes the valving rod connector to move linearly in a sixth direction. Movement of the valving rod connector in the fifth direction causes retraction of a valving rod of the mixing manifold and movement of the valving rod connector in the sixth direction causes extension of the valving rod.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR IMPROVED CONTROL OF IMPINGEMENT MIXING
A fluid delivery system includes a first pressure sensor disposed on or near a spray gun and configured to monitor a first fluid, and a second pressure sensor disposed on or near the spray gun and configured to monitor a second fluid. The fluid delivery system further includes control system comprising a processor configured to receive a first signal from the first pressure sensor and to receive a second signal from the second pressure sensor. The processor is further configured to derive a pressure difference between the first and the second pressure sensor representative of a fluid pressure difference between the first fluid and the second fluid and to control one or more pumps to obtain a desired pressure difference.
Extruding system and method of extruding a mixture of a polymeric material and a blowing agent
An extruding system includes a mixing unit configured to mix a polymeric material with a blowing agent and to form a mixture, and an injection unit coupled to the mixing unit and configured to inject the mixture. The mixing unit includes a mixing cartridge, a first mixing screw and a second mixing screw, the first and second mixing screws are disposed in the mixing cartridge. A method of extruding a mixture includes mixing a polymeric material and a blowing agent in a mixing cartridge of a mixing unit by at least one of a first and second mixing screws to form the mixture; conveying the mixture from the mixing unit to an injection unit; and discharging the mixture from the injection unit into a molding device. The mixture is sequentially in contact with the first mixing screw and the second mixing screw.
A CLEANING PISTON WHICH HAS A NON-POLAR MATERIAL FOR A MIXING HEAD, AND MIXING HEAD AND DISCHARGE CHANNEL, EACH OF WHICH CONTAINS SUCH A CLEANING PISTON
A cleaning piston for a mixing head of a reaction moulding machine includes a main part which has a cylindrical casing region, and a clearing part. The material and geometry of the clearing part are designed to remove residual material adhering to a channel of the mixing head. The clearing part is at least partly made of non-polar material.
Auto catch apparatus and method of use in making chemical mechanical polishing pads
The present invention provides an apparatus for use in mixing and dispensing a curable fluid stream (stream) into an open mold to fill the mold to make polishing pads for chemical mechanical planarization of substrates. The apparatus comprises an actuator frame on which is mounted (i) a set of two plates releasably attached to the actuator frame and adapted to cut the stream when the mold is full and to release from the actuator frame after cutting the stream, and (ii) a dispenser unit for continuous pouring of the stream into an open mold, the apparatus adapted to enable removal of the released plates from the actuator during the continuous pouring after the mold is full, e.g. by raising the actuator frame and the (ii) dispenser unit, whereby one can place a container above the mold to catch the plates.
Foam-in-bag systems and components thereof
A longitudinal sealer includes a housing, an arm, and a heating element. The housing is configured to be installed in a foam-in-bag system. The arm is movably coupled to the housing. The heating element has a leading edge exposed through an exterior surface of the arm. A position of the arm with respect to the housing is controllable so that the arm is movable between a first location where the leading edge of the heating element is not in contact with a film in a film path of the foam-in-bag system and a second location where the leading edge of the heating element is in contact with the film in the film path of the foam-in-bag system.
Systems and Methods for Portable Multi-Component Mixing of Materials for Spray Application of Same
A dual-use, low-pressure spray gun for applying one-component foam as a spray and a bead including a low-pressure canister connector and a low-pressure air hose connector. A system for applying one-component spray foam as a spray and a bead including a dual-use spray gun with a low-pressure canister connector and a low-pressure air hose connector, a compressed air supply and a compressed air hose.
MATERIAL DELIVERY SYSTEM FOR LAMINATOR
An apparatus and process for the delivery of material to rolls of a laminator is disclosed.
Apparatus for supplying multiple foam machines with foam precursors
Apparatus for supplying multiple foam machines with foam precursor chemicals. The apparatus comprises first and second totes having a top opening and a bottom drain and containing first and second foam precursor chemicals, first and second supply lines connected to the bottom drains of the first and second totes and in fluid communication with first and second sets of batcher stands, and first and second sets of batcher pumps each of which is positioned in a respective one of the first and second sets of batcher stands. Each batcher pump is adapted to be in fluid communication with a respective one of the foam machines.
ULTRA-HIGH PURITY POLYCARBONATES HAVING GOOD INHERENT COLOR AND THERMAL RESISTANCE AND A DEVICE AND A METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME
The invention relates to polycarbonates with extremely low residual levels of volatile constituents and thermal degradation products, and also improved optical properties, especially Yellowness Index (YI) and good thermal stability, from solvent-containing polymer melts. The invention further relates to an apparatus and a process for preparing these polycarbonates with the aid of a devolatilizing extruder with at least three devolatilizing zones, and zones for introducing entraining agent into dispersion are present upstream of at least three devolatilizing zones.
