ATOMIC LAYER DEPOSITION COATED PHARMACEUTICAL PACKAGING AND IMPROVED SYRINGES AND VIALS, E.G. FOR LYOPHILIZED/COLD-CHAIN DRUGS/VACCINES
The present disclosure is directed to pharmaceutical packaging such as syringes, vials, and blood tubes having a thermoplastic wall that is coated with a gas barrier coating in which at least one layer is applied by atomic layer deposition. The gas barrier coating may include, for example, one or more layers of SiO.sub.2, one or more layers of Al2O3, or a combination thereof, and may serve as a barrier against a variety of gases including oxygen, water vapor, and nitrogen. The present disclosure is also directed to syringes and vials which are configured for the storage of lyophilized or cold-chain drugs and in particular to maintain container closure integrity throughout the supply and storage conditions associated with such drugs. The present disclosure is also directed to evacuated blood tubes having extended shelf lives.
Prefilled syringe storage tray and package using the same
When at least a part of a shaft portion of a plunger is stored in a proximal end side storage portion of a storage tray, the proximal end side storage portion supports a syringe body and the plunger in a state in which the syringe body and the plunger cannot approach each other since a first contact portion comes into contact with a proximal end surface of a body flange and a second contact portion comes into contact with a distal end surface of a pressing operation portion, and the part of the shaft portion of the plunger is prevented from separating since protruding pieces come into contact with the part of the shaft portion of the plunger.
System and method for packaging medical containers
A packaging system for medical containers having a main opening, comprising: a vessel having a shoulder; a tray provided with cavities that is intended for receiving a medical container and rests on the shoulder; a plurality of caps that close the main opening; and a lid that seals the vessel. A method for packaging medical containers, comprises the following steps: providing a vessel; arranging a tray on the shoulder of the vessel; arranging medical containers in the cavities; arranging a cap on the medical containers so as to close the main opening thereof; sealing a lid on an upper edge of the peripheral wall of the vessel; and placing the vessel in at least one sealed bag.
Injector system
An injector including at least one fluid reservoir having a needle, a surface attached to skin and coupled to the fluid reservoir by at least a first joint and a second joint at least a portion of one of the joints being slidable or having interlocking arms. At least a portion of a path of translation of a slidable portion of the first joint and a portion of a path of translation of the second joint are angled in respect to each another.
Pen needle storage
A container (20) for storing pen needles (10) comprises a plurality of cavities (30), each cavity (30) having a closed end (32) and an open end (34), and a plurality of rings (40), each ring (40) including a plurality of arms (42) that is configured to retain the pen needle (10) in a first position and in a second position, wherein the open end (34) is flared outwardly, and the plurality of arms (42) are flared outwardly when the pen needle (10) is in the first position.
HOLDING DEVICE HAVING A TOTAL HEIGHT Rt OF A ROUGHNESS PROFILE
A holding device for holding packaging containers for pharmaceutical, medical, or cosmetic compositions includes: a plate-shaped carrier element which includes through-holes; receptacles including each a longitudinal direction, a first end, a second end, and a receptacle wall which partially encloses a receptacle interior and forms a wall body, the wall body: extending in the longitudinal direction through a respective one of the through-holes; and including a first opening at the first end, a second opening at the opposite second end, a first edge, and a second edge, the first opening being laterally directly surrounded by the at least one first edge, the second opening being laterally directly surrounded by the second edge, at least 50% of respective ones of the receptacles having a total height R.sub.t of a roughness profile of the first edge and/or the second edge which is not more than 0.50 mm.
HOLDING DEVICE HAVING A TOTAL HEIGHT Rt OF A ROUGHNESS PROFILE
A holding device, for holding a plurality of primary packaging containers for pharmaceutical, medical, or cosmetic compositions, includes: a plate-shaped carrier element which includes a plurality of through-holes; a plurality of receptacles, each being configured for accommodating a respective one of the plurality of primary packaging containers, each of the plurality of receptacles including a longitudinal direction and a receptacle wall which partially encloses a receptacle interior and forms a wall body, the wall body extending in the longitudinal direction through a respective one of the plurality of through-holes and, for each of the plurality of receptacles, having an interior surface which faces the receptacle interior and an exterior surface which faces opposite to the interior surface, at least 50% of respective ones of the plurality of receptacles having a maximum total height R.sub.t of a roughness profile of the interior surface which is not more than 0.50 mm.
MEDICAL INJECTION DEVICE PACKAGING
A kit including a packaging and an injection device is described. The injection device defines a positioning recess. The packaging includes a channel extending longitudinally to accommodate the injection device. The channel includes a first longitudinal wall, a second longitudinal wall opposing the first longitudinal wall, and a base wall extending between the first longitudinal wall and the second longitudinal wall. The packaging also includes a first handling recess defined by the first longitudinal wall and a second handling recess defined by the second longitudinal wall. The packaging also includes a positioning rib protruding from the base wall into the channel for insertion into the positioning recess of the injection device.
Bent fluid path add on to a prefilled reservoir
An add-on for a self-injector including an adaptor and a bent fluid path is provided. The adaptor includes at least one coupling sized and shaped to couple the adaptor to a fluid reservoir. The bent fluid path is configured at a first end to penetrate tissue and coupled at a second end to the adaptor. The add-on coupled to the fluid reservoir forms an integral self-injector cartridge unit configured to be sterilized and filled with an injectable. The adaptor is configured to couple to a self-injector at least one of a plurality of reservoirs having different sizes and tip types.
