An extruder screw includes a screw main body, conveyance portions, barrier portions, and paths. The raw materials, the conveyance of which is limited by the barrier portions, flow in from the entrance. The raw materials flowing in from the entrance flow through the paths in an opposite direction to a conveyance direction of the conveyance portions. The exit is opened in the outer circumferential surface of the screw main body at a position on an upstream side in the conveyance direction in the conveyance portions in which the entrance is opened.
PRODUCTION SYSTEM FOR PRODUCING FORMULATIONS
The present invention relates to a production system for manufacturing of formulations, comprising a unit (1). The unit (1) includes a subunit (1.1) which includes a combination of a process mixer and a buffer tank, means of feeding defined amounts of feedstocks into the process mixer, a measurement unit for ascertaining properties of a part-batch of a formulation manufactured in the process mixer, an evaluation unit for determining a deviation of properties of the part-batches manufactured in the process mixer from the properties of a predefined target state, and a unit for adjusting the feed of feedstocks in view of the deviations. The present invention also relates to a process for manufacturing formulations.

Method and system for manufacturing bulked continuous filament having tonal coloring from PET comprising: an extruder (202); a static mixing assembly (208) coupled to the extruder and comprising a housing and one or more individual static mixing elements disposed within the housing; the method and system further comprising a plurality of colorant ports along a length of the static mixing assembly such that each of the plurality of colorant ports is configured to provide colorant (204) to a polymer stream at a different location along the length of the static mixing assembly, and one or more spinning machines (212) positioned downstream of the static mixing assembly and coupled to the static mixing assembly to receive the colored polymer stream. The spinning machine(s) may be configured to form the colored polymer stream into bulked continuous carpet filament having a tonal color effect.

Methods for manufacturing bulked continuous filament from colored recycled PET
A method of manufacturing bulked continuous carpet filament which, in various embodiments, comprises: (A) grinding recycled PET bottles into a group of flakes; (B) washing the flakes; (C) identifying and removing impurities, including impure flakes, from the group of flakes; (D) adding one or more color concentrates to the flakes; (E) passing the group of flakes through an extrusion system while maintaining the pressure within the extrusion system below about 25 millibars; (F) passing the resulting polymer melt through at least one filter having a micron rating of less than about 50 microns; and (G) forming the recycled polymer into bulked continuous carpet filament that consists essentially of recycled PET.
Polymeric materials
High pressure injection apparatus (2) for addition of a liquid formulation into a melt stream comprises a first pump which is arranged to accurately meter the liquid formulation (including highly loaded formulations comprising solids comprising particles of relatively large size) and a second pump which boosts the pressure of the formulation to that of the melt stream into which it is to be injected. In an embodiment, the apparatus includes a tank (4) for initially receiving liquid formulation. The tank is subjected to ambient temperature and pressure and need not be stirred or otherwise agitated. The tank is arranged to deliver the formulation via pipe (6) into a first pump (8) (which may be a diaphragm pump or a progressing cavity pump). The pump is arranged to work at a pressure up to 120 bar to boost pressure. Downstream of pump (8), a pipe (10) is arranged to deliver formulation from the pump (8) to a gear pump (12), driven by a motor (13). The gear pump acts to meter the liquid formulation. In an alternative embodiment, apparatus may include a progressing cavity pump to meter formulation and a gear pump to increase pressure. The apparatus may be used to inject a fluid formulation into a melted polymeric material.
Conductive High Strength Extrudable Ultra High Molecular Weight Polymer Graphene Oxide Composite
The present invention includes an injection moldable/extrudable composite that preserves at least 80% or enhances the primary physical properties of compression molded polymer, the composite comprising, e.g., an Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (UHMWPE) and graphene/graphite oxide or graphene oxide, with or without polypropylene.
METHOD FOR PRODUCING A POLYCONDENSATE MELT FROM A PRIMARY MATERIAL AND FROM A SECONDARY MATERIAL
The invention relates to a method for producing a polycondensate melt from a primary material and a secondary material from materials of substantially the same type. A first partial melt stream (I) of the primary material and a second partial melt stream (II) of the secondary material are provided, and a measured value of the intrinsic viscosity of both partial melt streams (I, II) is determined, and a difference value is calculated from said measured values. Based on said difference value, the intrinsic viscosity of the second partial melt stream (II) is increased, reduced or maintained unchangedly by means of a first melt treatment device (8). Subsequently, the two partial melt streams (I, II) are combined into a common melt stream.
