SYSTEMS FOR MANUFACTURING BULKED CONTINUOUS CARPET FILAMENT
Systems for manufacturing bulked continuous carpet filament from polymer, where the systems are configured for: (1) passing polymer flakes through a crystalliers; (2) melting the polymer to create a first single stream of polymer melt; (3) separating the first single stream of polymer melt into multiple streams of polymer melt; (4) exposing the multiple streams of polymer melt to a pressure of between about 0 millibars and about 25 millibars in a chamber; (5) recombining the multiple streams of polymer melt into a second single stream of polymer melt; and (6) providing the second single stream of polymer melt to one or more spinning machines that are configured to form the second single stream of polymer melt into bulked continuous carpet filament.
PRODUCTION METHOD FOR HEAT-RESISTANT RESIN COMPOSITION
A method for manufacturing a heat resistant resin composition having superior dispersibility of maleimide-based copolymer, the method including: a melt-kneading step to melt and knead a maleimide-based copolymer (A) and at least one resin (B) selected from the group consisting of ABS resin, ASA resin, AES resin, and SAN resin with an extruder; wherein: a ratio of a melt viscosity of the maleimide-based copolymer (A) with respect to a melt viscosity of the resin (B) obtained with a shear rate of 120/sec and a cylinder temperature of a kneading unit of the extruder is 1.0 or higher and lower than 3.4, is provided.
Two part compounded material mixer
A method, apparatus, and system for mixing a compounded material. A first selected amount of a base part for the compounded material and a second selected amount of an activator part for the compounded material to form a total amount of the compounded material is determined. The first selected amount of the base part is pumped by a pump system from a set of base part sources connected to the pump system into a container. The second selected amount of the activator part is pumped by the pump system from a set of activator part sources connected to the pump system into a container. The base part and the activator part in the container are mixed by a mixing system for a predetermined amount of time that is sufficient to activate the compounded material for use.
GRAPHENE POLYETHYLENE TEREPHTHALATE COMPOSITE FOR IMPROVING REHEAT ENERGY CONSUMPTION
A graphene reinforced polyethylene terephthalate composition is provided for forming graphene-PET containers. The graphene reinforced polyethylene terephthalate composition includes a continuous matrix comprising polyethylene terephthalate and a dispersed reinforcement phase comprising graphene nanoplatelets. The graphene nanoplatelets range in diameter between 5 μm and 10 μm with surface areas ranging from about 15 m.sup.2/g to about 150 m.sup.2/g. In some embodiments, the graphene reinforced polyethylene terephthalate comprises a concentration of graphene nanoplatelets being substantially 3% weight fraction of the graphene reinforced polyethylene terephthalate. The graphene reinforced polyethylene terephthalate is configured to be injection molded into a graphene-PET preform suitable for forming a container. The graphene-PET preform is configured to be reheated above its glass transition temperature and blown into a mold so as to shape the graphene-PET preform into the container.
Fiber-reinforced composite extrusion with enhanced properties
Embodiments herein include compositions, extruded articles, and methods of making the same. In an embodiment, an extruded article is included. The extruded article can include an extruded segment comprising a first composition. The first composition can include a polymer resin, an impact modifier and fibers. In some embodiments, the extruded segment can have a surface exhibiting an average depression depth of less than 0.0045 inches (0.1143 mm). Other embodiments are also included herein.
Process and apparatus to make liquid silicone rubber compositions
Provided are an assembly and process for the continuous or semi-continuous preparation of addition-crosslinking liquid silicone rubbers and to liquid silicone rubber compositions made therefrom. Also disclosed are articles made from the liquid silicone rubber compositions.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR MANUFACTURING BULKED CONTINUOUS FILAMENT FROM COLORED RECYLED PET
A system comprising: (1) a grinding unit configured to receive and grind recycled PET bottles into a group of polymer flakes comprising up to about ten percent colored polymer flakes and balance substantially clear polymer flakes; (2) a washing unit configured to wash the group of polymer flakes; and (3) an extruder configured to extrude material in a plurality of different extrusion streams. The extruder may be further configured to: (1) receive a concentrate-polymer mixture comprising a mixture of the polymer flakes and a color concentrate; (2) melt the concentrate-polymer mixture to produce a polymer melt; (3) reduce a pressure within the extruder; and (4) pass the polymer melt through the extruder so that the polymer melt is divided into the plurality of extrusion streams. The system may then filter the polymer melt through at least one filter and form the polymer melt into bulked continuous carpet filament.
Method for Consolidating a Bulk Molding Compound
Methods and an apparatus are presented. A bulk molding compound is consolidated by sending the bulk molding compound through a die breaker and an extrusion die of a consolidation system.
Guayule latex extrusion
A latex processing system and method involves mixing a latex and at least one solvent blend in an extruder, in order to remove resin found in the latex and to coagulate the latex to form a coagulum. The at least one solvent blend has a first solvent configured to coagulate the latex, and a second solvent configured to swell the resulting coagulum. In particular, a series of the solvent blends may be used at different locations along a length of the extruder, and may further include distinct blends of the first solvent and the second solvent, introduced at the different locations, and having different ratios of the first solvent and the second solvent.
