A process to form coated polymer particles comprising polymer particles formed from a polymer composition comprising an olefin-based polymer, and a coating formed from a coating composition comprising an aqueous metal acid dispersion and an aqueous polysiloxane emulsion, said process comprising the following: mixing together the aqueous metal acid dispersion and the aqueous polysiloxane emulsion to form a dispersion/emulsion mixture; applying the dispersion/emulsion mixture to a portion of the surfaces of the polymer particles to form wet-coated polymer particles; drying the wet-coated polymer particles to form the coated polymer particles. The aqueous metal acid dispersion and the aqueous polysiloxane emulsion may also be applied, individually, in separate steps.

Such ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer composition pellets are capable of reliably suppressing occurrence of minute fisheyes having a diameter of 200 m or smaller.

An aromatic polyamide (C1) and an aliphatic polyamide (C2) are used for the polyamide-based resin (C) at a proportion of (C1)/(C2)=55/45-99/1.

Provided is EVOH resin pellet capable of suppressing the occurrence of fish eye even in a resultant monolayer film, and the method for producing the same. The EVOH resin pellet contains a boron compound and the boron amount in a surface portion of the pellet is 1.7 ppm or less. After the EVOH resin pellet is made to contain the boron compound, the EVOH resin pellet is rinsed with a mixture of water and alcohol so that the amount of the boron compound in a surface portion can be reduced.
