Systems and Methods for Generating an Injection Guide
System and methods are described herein for generating an injection guide, which include receiving one or more digital images of a body region of an individual, the body region including one or more physical registration landmarks, generating at least one digital representation of the body region using the one or more digital images, the at least one digital representation including one or more digital registration landmarks corresponding to the one or more physical registration landmarks on the body region, adding one or more digitally registered injection sites to the at least one digital representation of the body region in an injection-treatment pattern, the one or more digitally registered injection sites registered relative to the one or more digital registration landmarks, and generating one or more output signals having information for controlling one or more controllable light-emitting elements to illuminate a location on a surface of the body region of the individual corresponding in location to at least one of the one or more digitally registered injection sites.
TACTILE SENSING DEVICE FOR LUMBAR PUNCTURES
Tactile sensing devices, systems, and methods to image a target tissue location are disclosed. When force is applied to the tactile sensing device, voltage data is detected and visualized on a screen, indicating the target tissue location.
Vacuum-assisted insertion device
Insertion devices, systems, and methods for inserting a needle into a target tissue in an individual in need thereof are disclosed herein. Also disclosed herein are needle cartridges comprising a needle, a plate, and a needle holder. Also disclosed herein are methods of introducing a catheter into a target tissue in an individual in need thereof.
Pain Reducing Anesthetic Cooling Device
The pain reducing anesthetic cooling device of the invention reduces pain and minimizes the anxiety often associated with needle injection procedures in both children and adults. The invention reduces pain by precisely anesthetizing a targeted area in a manner that prevents cooling excessive areas of the skin, targets the injection site with a temporary skin impression as a guide for needle injection placement, and makes it easy for medical staff, home care givers or the patient to use and store the device. Additional features of the invention include removable toys, spinning elements and sound and light features to distract and engage the patient. Additionally, the cooling solution may contain colorants such as dyes and particulate additives such as glitter to increase the visual appeal of the device.
CATHETER PLACEMENT DEVICE AND RELATED METHODS
An intravenous (IV) therapy system to facilitate the insertion of a catheter or another suitable IV device into a patient may include a band made of flexible material to be secured around a limb of a patient. The IV therapy system may include a window formed through the band to provide access to the patient's body. The IV therapy system may include a tourniquet formed within the band to selectively apply a pressure against the patient's body. The IV therapy system may include a blood vessel indicator to indicate where the catheter or other suitable IV device is to be inserted.
SINGLE DOSE DRUG DELIVERY DEVICE
A wearable drug delivery device that can deliver a liquid drug stored in a container to a patient is provided. The container can be a prefilled cartridge that can be loaded into the drug delivery device by the patient or that can be preloaded within the drug delivery device when provided to the patient. A sealed end of the container is pierced to couple the stored liquid drug to a needle conduit that is coupled to a needle insertion component that provides access to the patient. A drive system of the drug delivery device can expel the liquid drug from the cartridge to the patient through the needle conduit. The drive system can be controlled to provide the liquid drug to the patient in a single dose or over multiple doses.
Scanned laser vein contrast enhancer imaging in an alternating frame mode
The present invention is a Miniature Vein Enhancer that includes a Miniature Projection Head. The Miniature Projection Head may be operated in one of three modes, AFM, DBM, and RTM. The Miniature Projection Head of the present invention projects an image of the veins of a patient, which aids the practitioner in pinpointing a vein for an intravenous drip, blood test, and the like. The Miniature projection head may have a cavity for a power source or it may have a power source located in a body portion of the Miniature Vein Enhancer. The Miniature Vein Enhancer may be attached to one of several improved needle protectors, or the Miniature Vein Enhancer may be attached to a body similar to a flashlight for hand held use. The Miniature Vein Enhancer of the present invention may also be attached to a magnifying glass, a flat panel display, and the like.
DELIVERY DEVICES FOR ADMINISTERING DRUGS
Delivery devices for administering drugs are disclosed. An example apparatus, includes a body including: a handle in which a syringe assembly is to be disposed; a base having a bottom face to be disposed adjacent a user; and an absorbent material attached to the bottom face, the absorbent material structured to hold a fluid to be released onto the user prior to or during an injection procedure.
ULTRASOUND-GUIDED RETE TESTIS INJECTION/ASPIRATION DEVICE
Ultrasound-guided rete testis injection/aspiration devices and methods are described. Some methods include inserting a needle into the rete testis space of a patient and injecting a therapeutic medium through the needle into the rete testis space and seminiferous tubules of the testis. The therapeutic medium can help to treat infertility. In some examples, the method can include monitoring intra-testicular pressure of the patient. In some examples, the therapeutic medium can include stem cells. In some examples, the therapeutic medium can include gene therapy vectors. In some examples, the method can include flushing the rete testis space and seminiferous tubules with a saline solution through the needle. Exemplary devices can include a dual lumen needle, a collection tube, a dual function pump, and flexible tubing. The dual function pump can include a dual syringe pump and a vacuum pump.
