METHODS OF FORMING BLOCKS UTILIZABLE FOR BUILDING CONSTRUCTION OUT OF NON-RECYCLABLE PLASTIC WASTE RAW MATERIAL
20240100741 · 2024-03-28 ·

A method of forming blocks having dimensional uniformity thereacross associated with building construction includes shredding, via a shredder, a non-recyclable plastic waste raw material having a specific dimensional length and a height into a number of strips having a uniform dimensional width of 0.120 inches to 1 inch, and weighing the number of strips at a weigh apparatus. The method also includes isolating and batching the number of strips collected and weighed, and compressing the isolated and batched number of strips in a compression chamber to form a block based on steam-sanitizing the isolated and batched number of strips in the compression chamber with steam having a temperature varying from 220? F. to 850? F. and a pressure of 30-500 Pounds per Square Inch (PSI) and introduced intermittently across regions of the compression chamber to solely activate a base polymer of each of the isolated and batched number of strips.

METHODS FOR RECOVERING EXPANDED POLYMER TOOLING

Methods of recovering and/or recycling expanded polymer tooling, the methods including collecting expanded polymer tooling, reducing the collected expanded polymer tooling into smaller particles, treating the reduced expanded polymer tooling in order to yield an at least partially purified recovered polymer composition, and then collecting the at least partially purified recovered polymer composition. The at least partially purified recovered polymer composition can then be used to form new expandable polymer tooling.

A recycling method applied to thermoplastic filaments mixed with undesirable materials. The recycling method includes a feed step and a spreading step. The method continues with a horizontal cutting step wherein the layer of thermoplastic filaments and undesirable materials is leveled, and then a first cutting step wherein the layer is cut in a first vertical direction, and a second cutting step wherein the portions of layers are cut in a second vertical direction orthogonal to the first vertical direction. The method continues with a tearing step, a beating step, a preliminary grinding step, an agglomeration step, a grinding step, a separation step and finally a recovery step.
