A MESH STRUCTURE AND METHOD OF FORMING THE MESH STRUCTURE
20240318363 · 2024-09-26 ·

A method of forming a mesh from thermoplastic material includes the steps of: providing an apparatus comprising a shredder and a binding station, urging thermoplastic material through the shredder to from strips of shredded material, and then transferring the shredded thermoplastic material through the binding station to form a more integral mesh formation from the shredded thermoplastic material. Such mesh material can be used for a variety of applications such as cushioning or the like.

Recyclable enhanced performance carbon fiber reinforced polymers

A method of recycling fiber reinforced polymers includes grinding used fiber reinforced polymers material to produce ground particles, functionalizing the ground particles to produce functionalized particles, dispersing the functionalized particles into a base resin, dispensing the resin with functionalized particles into one or more layers of continuous fiber mats, molding the resin with functionalized particles and the continuous fiber mats into a form of a desired part, and curing the form to produce the part. The used fiber reinforced polymer materials may be carbon fiber reinforced polymers or glass fiber reinforced polymer materials.

Post-consumer scrap film recycling system and process

A system for processing a supply of post-consumer scrap linear low density or low density polyethylene film into near-virgin quality blown film product. The system includes tearing the supply of film in a shredder, wherein the surface area of the film is exposed, including delaminating the film. The torn supply of film is washed in a hot water bath including a surfactant. The film is agitated in the bath containing the surfactant wherein contaminants on the film are removed from the film. The washed film is ground into smaller pieces and additional washing of the ground film in a rotating friction washer occurs wherein additional contaminants are removed from the film. The ground film is then dried in a dryer and compacted in a compactor without addition of water into granulated objects of near-virgin quality blown film product.

Method for recycling a transfer product

A method for recycling a transfer product having at least one carrier film, wherein a transfer ply is arranged detachably at least partially on the at least one carrier film, and wherein the following steps are carried out in the method, in particular in the following order: a) shredding (10) the transfer product, by means of a shredder or a shredding device, into transfer product shreds, in particular carrier film shreds, preferably wherein the transfer product is present wound onto a roll, b) compressing (30) the transfer product shreds, in particular carrier film shreds, into a compact product or extruding (31) the transfer product shreds, in particular carrier film shreds, into an extrusion product.

Method of forming a substrate for a sports surface of a sports pitch, such a substrate as well as a sports pitch provided with such substrate

A method of forming a substrate for a sports surface of a sports pitch includes the steps of: a) Agglomerating plastics materials; b) Granulating the agglomerated plastics materials to form granules having a predetermined range of sizes; c) In situ coating the granules with a binding material so that they form a fluent material; d) Forming a layer of the fluent material on the site of the sports pitch; and e) Setting the laid material such that the granules adhere where they contact each other to form a voided water permeable structure.

POST-CONSUMER SCRAP FILM RECYCLING SYSTEM AND PROCESS

A system and method for processing a supply of post-consumer scrap linear low density or low density polyethylene film into near-virgin quality blown film product. The method includes tearing the supply of film in a shredder, wherein the surface area of the film is exposed, including delaminating the film. The torn supply of film is washed in a water bath including a surfactant. The film is agitated in the bath containing the surfactant wherein contaminants on the film are removed from the film. The washed film is ground into smaller pieces and additional washing of the ground film in a rotating friction washer and a sink float tank occurs wherein additional contaminants are removed from the film. The ground film is then dried and compacted without addition of water into granulated objects of near-virgin quality blown film product.

Method to reprocess cross-linked foam and products produced therefrom

Disclosed herein is a method of making a melt-processable material comprises: processing a cross-linked polymeric foam to form a processed cross-linked polymeric foam material wherein the processed cross-linked polymeric foam material has an average particle size suitable for feeding to a melt processor, feeding the processed cross-linked polymeric foam material to the melt processor, and melt mixing a composition comprising the processed cross-linked polymeric foam material and a thermoplastic material wherein the processed cross-linked foam material has a domain size, under melt mixing conditions, less than or equal to the processing spaces of the melt processor.

Process and Machine for Releasing Curve Memory in a Reclaimed Tire Strip
20240408797 · 2024-12-12 · ·

A machine and process for producing a block of construction material from harvested tire tread strips by receiving a strip of flexible material having a radial curvature memory in a first direction, perforating the strip of flexible material to produce crosswise plunge cuts into the flexible material from at least a first surface, wherein each crosswise cut each extends laterally across the width of the strip of flexible material, and wherein a depth of each crosswise cut is less than the thickness of the strip of flexible material; and bending the perforated strip of flexible material in a first curvature, wherein the first curvature produces a convex shape on the first surface, wherein the bending is along a longitudinal direction of the strip of flexible material, and wherein a bending force applied to the strip is sufficient to break some of the flexible material contributing to the radial curvature memory.

METHOD FOR OBTAINING A RECYCLED MATERIAL FROM MULTILAYER PET CONTAINERS AND RECYCLED MATERIAL OBTAINED USING SAME

A method for obtaining mechanically recoverable recycled material from multilayer PET (polyethylene terephthalate) containers of post-consumer and/or post-industrial origin involves cleaning the containers, crushing them into pieces, mixing the pieces with a compatibilizing mixture and melting the mixed product to obtain a continuous filament. The compatibilising mixture is formed by at least: 10-45% thermoplastic polyolefin matrix; a reagent of plant origin in a percentage of less than 7.5% of the total mixture; and a rosin-based tackifier in a percentage of less than 7.5% of the total mixture.
