PARTIALLY REVERSIBLE THERMOSETS USEFUL FOR RECYCLING
Provided herein is a method of recycling reactive prepolymers from additively manufactured articles or recovered coating material that comprises a crosslinked polymer formed from a single-cure resin comprising a reactive blocked prepolymer and a crosslinker, by forming and recovering a regenerated reactive prepolymer. Light-polymerizable resins, methods of making recyclable objects from such resins, and methods for sustainable manufacturing are also provided.
Preconditioned resin aggregate
Systems and methods are provided for making aggregate from comingled waste plastics. For example, there is provided a method of making a preconditioned absorptive resin aggregate, the method including: obtaining a supply of granulated mixed plastic waste treated with a preconditioning agent that comprises at least one of calcium oxide and calcium hydroxide; mixing the supply of granulated mixed plastic waste treated with the calcium oxide preconditioning agent with one or more additives to form a plastic waste mixture, the one or more additives comprising pozzolans; hot extruding the plastic waste mixture to form an extruded product comprising waste plastic material; cooling the extruded product; and processing the extruded product to form an aggregate. Products incorporating such aggregates, such as, for example, lightweight construction blocks, are also provided. Also provided are methods of forming a waste plastics feedstock.
Filled polymeric resin materials and methods of making
The present disclosure provides for articles formed of a filled polymeric resin material. More specifically, the present disclosure relates to polymeric resin materials that include a filler that includes of a mixture of cured rubber granules, foam granules, and/or textile fibers. The filler can be suspended in and/or encapsulated by the polymeric resin material. The polymeric resin material, the filler, or both can include waste or scrap material from manufacturing or from ground post-consumer waste.
METHOD FOR PRODUCING A PET STARTING MATERIAL THAT IS SUITABLE FOR USE IN AN EXTRUSION BLOW MOLDING METHOD, AND HOLLOW ARTICLE PRODUCED IN THE EXTRUSION BLOW MOLDING METHOD
The invention relates to a method for producing an EBM bottle with 0.90 to 1.5 dL/g from a bottle-grade PET post-consumer recycling flake, i.e., a recycled, post-consumer PET with a viscosity of 0.65 to 0.84 dL/g, using extrusion processes, solid state polycondensation processes, and a blowing process.
Manufacture of filament material
A method utilizes waste product in manufacturing, such as manufacture of filaments or micro-pellets for use in manufacturing applications such as additive manufacturing, extrusion, injection molding, blow molding and other applications.
METHOD FOR GRINDING PLASTIC WASTE AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING SYNTHETIC RESIN MOLDED PRODUCT USING PLASTIC WASTE
A method for grinding plastic waste includes mixing 30 to 80 wt % of plastic waste and 20 to 70 wt % of a woodchip by a mixer after equalizing the size of a diameter or a side thereof so as to be 5 mm or less, and grinding a mixture thereof into a fine powder with a particle size of 1 mm or less by a grinding device including a rotor rotating at a high speed.
METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING ARTICLES MADE FROM CRUMB RUBBER
A process for manufacturing an article made of recovered rubber crumb is provided. According to the process:
a) crumb particles are mixed with particles of a solute;
b) a molded article is produced by molding the mixture from step a) in a closed mold under predetermined temperature and pressure conditions; and
c) the molded article is brought into contact with a solvent so as to dissolve at least one portion of the particles of said solute.
Method of Recycling Used Printing Plates
A method of producing a granulated product from photopolymer printing plate materials. The method includes the steps of (a) sorting the photopolymer printing plate materials based on an identifiable property, wherein the photopolymer printing plate materials comprise one or more photopolymer layers; (b) grinding the photopolymer printing plate materials to particles; and (c) screening the particles to remove particles above a certain size and create the granulated product.
METHOD OF MANUFACTURING FEEDSTOCK FROM RECYCLED-FIBERS
A method of manufacturing a part, includes: obtaining recycled fibers; mixing the recycled fibers with a thermoplastic to obtain a fiber-reinforced intermediate; and manufacturing the part with the fiber-reinforced intermediate. The recycled fibers may come from a grinding operation of recycled composite parts. A feedstock may be manufactured using recycled fibers. The feedstock may then be used in subsequent manufacturing.
REVERSIBLE THERMOSETS FOR ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING
Provided herein is a method of recycling additively manufactured articles or recovered coating material that comprises a crosslinked polymer formed from a single-cure resin comprising a reactive blocked prepolymer, into a regenerated resin useful for additive manufacturing. Recyclable light-polymerizable resins, methods of making recyclable objects from such resins, and methods for sustainable manufacturing are also provided.
