Medical heating device having means for blocking flow of fluid
09833580 · 2017-12-05 ·

A heating device for blocking flow of air if the inside of a cartridge enters a negative-pressure state is provided. The device includes a cartridge upper plate having a fluid-guide member for guiding the flow of a fluid; a cartridge lower plate having an inlet, an outlet and another fluid-guide member positioned spaced apart from the fluid-guide member of the cartridge upper plate; a heater disposed between the cartridge upper plate and the lower plate and heating the fluid being guided by the fluid-guide members; air filters positioned outside the fluid-guide members and discharging air bubbles in the heated fluid into the atmosphere; and extension units which are provided on the cartridge upper and lower plates having film members and outflow and discharge passages and that keep the flow of fluid normal in the positive-pressure state and block the fluid movement pathway if a negative pressure occurs inside the cartridge.

Apparatus and method for infusing fluid through a tube by appropriately heating the tube

A peristaltic pump disclosed herein includes a raceway, a plunger, a motor, and a heater. The raceway is configured to retain a tube (e.g., an IV tube). The plunger acts on the tube disposed within the raceway. The motor engages the plunger to actuate the plunger. The heater is disposed in thermal-conductive contact with the tube. That is, the heater, either through direct or indirect application, heats the tube.

A pain-reducing injection apparatus to enhance the safety, efficacy, and efficiency of injection procedures which utilize topical pain-reducing measures. Apparatuses and methods of use provide pain reduction through thermal cooling of an injection region or vibrating the region or both, and optionally include safety shielding and lockout features.

APPARATUS, SYSTEM AND METHOD OF PROVIDING A CONFORMABLE HEATER SYSTEM

The disclosure is and includes at least an apparatus, system and method for a flexible heater sensor suitable for association with a fluid bag. The apparatus, system and method may include a conformable substrate on a ply of the fluid bag opposite a printed flexible heater; and a matched function ink set, printed onto at least one substantially planar face of the substrate. The matched function ink set forms: at least one conductive layer capable of receiving current flow from at least one power source; and at least one dielectric layer capable of at least partially insulating and at least partially limiting conductivity of the at least one conductive layer; wherein the matched ink set is matched to preclude detrimental interactions between the printed inks of each of the at least one conductive and dielectric layers, and to preclude detrimental interactions with the conformable substrate; and wherein the at least one conductive layer and the at least one dielectric layer comprise a sensing circuit that senses at least the temperature of fluid within the fluid bag.

DRUG DELIVERY DEVICE CONFIGURED FOR PAIN REDUCTION DURING INJECTION

An injection device may include a housing and a baseplate coupled to the housing. The baseplate may include a flange portion and an axial portion that extends from the flange portion in a longitudinal direction of the housing. The baseplate may be an opaque, polymer material that is more thermally conductive than a material of the housing. The injection device may additionally include a syringe at least partially disposed within the housing. The syringe may include a needle. The injection device may include a deployment mechanism configured to move the syringe relative to the housing from a retracted position to a deployed position in which the needle projects beyond the baseplate. At least a portion of the syringe may be visible when the syringe is in the retracted position.
