USE OF AN AIR PERMEABLE COMPOSITE SHEET MATERIAL FOR PROPAGATION PLUGS FOR ORGANIC PRODUCTION
The present invention relates to the production of propagation plugs, primarily small blocks of sphagnum for the growing of cuttings and seed plants, and of the type consisting of a cylindrical block having an envelope of paper or a similar material and an associated filling of sphagnum or a corresponding substrate material. The paper is an air permeable composite sheet material comprising a) a biodegradable nonwoven sheet material; and b) a hot melt adhesive comprising at least 50% w/w of one or more biodegradable bioplastics. The hot melt adhesive is supplied to at least a part of a face of the biodegradable nonwoven sheet material.
Grow bag system with irrigation
The instant invention describes a grow bag with a dosing irrigation tube inserted within the inner cavity of the grow bag for controllable dispersant of plant nutrients therein. The system comprises a top panel and a bottom panel secured to a plurality of side walls to form an inner cavity. Attached to the top panel is a dosing irrigation tube or pipe constructed and arranged to traverse the length of the bag and have a first and second end that is external to the inner cavity. Housed within the inner cavity of the bag is plant growth material for providing support and nutrients for the growth of one or more plant species. The invention also describes a system of two or more grow bags with a dosing irrigation tube coupled together and arranged in a variety of conjurations, including horizontally or vertically in a linear fashion or non-linear fashion.
Growing System
Growing systems including double-walled growing devices, and methods of making and using the same are provided. Growing devices include two sheets of material, a sprouting layer and a rooting layer, strategically bonded together to form containers for growing plants. Each container includes openings in the layers to allow the plants to grow out of their containers and to allow roots to access water through the rooting layer. The two layers can be formed into a cylinder where the center of the cylinder provides a channel for watering such that the roots grow into that channel. Deployed as a flat sheet of containers, the device can include a third layer to provide a water channel between the rooting layer and the third layer. Growing systems include the device and can also include a system to provide water thereto, and an enclosure around the device for providing an overpressure.
FLOATING ECOSYSTEM
A floating ecosystem for deployment in a body of water, the ecosystem comprising a number of elongate members which are arranged side-by-side and define one or more corresponding elongate planting lanes between them. These planting lanes allow for the insertion and support of plants at predetermined lateral separations. The elongate members are advantageously resilient and closely spaced so as to provide structural support to plants inserted in the planting lanes. The ecosystem may also comprise a material or component which is partially biodegradable and partially durable and/or non-biodegradable; the biodegradable portion initially provides natural planting media for improved plant establishment then makes way for root spread and plant growth as it decays

On Top of Ground Weedless No-Till Gardening System
A no-till gardening system is generally comprised of an upper housing unit, a lower housing unit, and at least one securement device. The at least one securement device is further comprised of an attachment tab and an anchoring unit. The upper housing unit is capable of resting upon that of the lower housing unit. A combination of soil and plant seed may be inserted into the space located in between that of the upper and lower housing units. The at least one securement device is used to secure the upper and lower housing units to the ground.
