DEVICE AND METHOD FOR IDENTIFICATION OF A TARGET REGION
A method and apparatus are provided for use in locating a target region which is situated in the body of a subject, for example for the delivery of drugs. The system includes an assembly for controlling the flow of fluid from a fluid reservoir to a conduit, such as a needle. A sensor detects a characteristic indicative of the fluid pressure in the conduit. The system processes data from the sensor to detect the presence of a pulsatile waveform. A controller may control further operation of the system based on information regarding the presence of the pulsatile waveform and features of the waveform, such as amplitude.
Pressure control apparatus
Methods and apparatuses are disclosed for applying negative pressure to a wound site. In some embodiments, the apparatus comprises a source of negative pressure, a processing element, and a memory comprising instructions configured to, when executed on the processing element, cause the apparatus to attempt to generate, via the source of negative pressure, a desired negative pressure at the wound site. If the desired negative pressure has not been generated after a first predetermined period of time, the instructions cause the apparatus to: deactivate the source of negative pressure for a second predetermined period of time, and subsequently attempt to generate the desired negative pressure at the wound site.
Drug cassette, autoinjector, and autoinjector system
A cassette for use with an injector has a housing, and a cassette identification arrangement (cassette ID) defining a code containing information about the cassette that is detectable and decipherable by an injector. The cassette may further have a sleeve movably disposed within the housing, for holding a drug container, and a locking arrangement for interlocking the sleeve with the housing. The cassette may further have an aperture in the housing, and a cassette cap for removing a needle shield of the drug container. The cassette may have an anti-bending structure to prevent bending or flexing of the cassette cap. The injector may have a processor for controlling operational parameters of the injector and a detector communicatively coupled with the processor for detesting and communicating the cassette ID to the microprocessor to decipher the code defined therein. Also, a method of injecting a drug into a patient with an injector, wherein the sequence of actions performed by the user are controlled. Still further, a method of treating a patient in need thereof wherein a cassette containing a drug is provided and administered to the patient using an injector.
PULSATILE OR RESONATING FLUSH SYRINGE
A flush syringe for use in maintaining intravenous catheters, which can more efficiently and effectively flush catheters by providing a pulsating, pulsatile, and/or pulsative flow of fluid that can be produced using the momentum of the moving fluid itself. A steady force applied to the plunger while flushing can provide a pulsating flow of fluid to a catheter.
Semiautomatic syringe with improved safety
The present invention provides a semiautomatic syringe with improved safety including: a main body; a receptacle which is installed at one side of the main body, receives therein a set amount of infusion solution, and has a set pressure; an infusion solution tube which extends by a set length while penetrating the main body, connects with the receptacle, and provides a passageway for moving the infusion solution; a protective cover which is installed at the other side of the main body, connects with the infusion solution tube, extends by a set length, and has a hollow portion; an injection needle which is provided in the protective cover and has an injection hole formed to discharge the infusion solution, which moves through the infusion solution tube, to the outside; and a flow rate adjusting member which is installed in the main body and adjusts a movement amount of the infusion solution by opening and closing the passageway of the infusion solution tube, in which the injection needle is provided in a state of being inserted into the hollow portion of the protective cover, and a part of the injection needle protrudes to the outside of the protective cover by a change in pressure in the receptacle when the passageway of the infusion solution tube is opened, thereby achieving a more convenient, economic, and safe usage.
A Touch Sensor of a Drug Delivery Device or of a Drug Delivery Add-On Device
A touch sensor of a drug delivery device or of a drug delivery add-on device including a rigid element, a touch element arranged in relation to the rigid element such that a gap between at least a part of the rigid element and a flexible part of the touch element is provided, at least one pressure sensitive element arranged between the rigid element and the flexible part of the touch element in the gap such that a pressure applied to the flexible part of the touch element deforms the flexible part to reduce the gap and transmit the applied pressure to the pressure sensitive element, wherein the at least one pressure sensitive element is configured to generate an output signal upon detecting the pressure applied to the pressure sensitive element, the generated output signal being provided for signaling that the flexible part of the touch element has been touched.
RATE-LIMITED SYRINGE
The disclosure notably relates to a syringe. The syringe comprises a barrel forming a medicament reservoir therein. The medicament reservoir is capable of fluid communication with a needle hub at a distal end thereof. The syringe further comprises a stopper. The stopper seals the medicament reservoir. The stopper is slidable inside the barrel toward the distal end. The syringe further comprises a plunger assembly. The plunger assembly comprises a plunger rod and a spring. The spring is arranged between a distal end of the plunger rod and the stopper. The spring is configured to transmit to the stopper a forward axial movement of the plunger rod, thereby causing a forward axial movement of the stopper into the medicament reservoir in order to expel the medicament through the needle hub. The plunger rod is axially movable between a proximal extremal position and a distal extremal position. The spring is in a relaxed state when the plunger rod is at the proximal extremal position.
Device for ocular access
The present invention provides devices to access the suprachoroidal space or sub-retinal space in an eye via a minimally invasive transconjunctival approach. The devices may also be used after a partial dissection, for example after dissection of the outer scleral layer of the eye, and using the device within the dissection to access the suprachoroidal space or the sub-retinal space.
Injection sensor with feedback mechanism
The present disclosure provides devices for implanting tissue or other substances within the body. The devices can include a feedback mechanism, which can assist a surgeon in implanting the tissue or other substances by preventing excess shear force or pressure on the tissue or substance to be implanted.
