The cap and the infusion pump are each provided with at least one sensor or at least one detectable feature, arranged to interact with at least one corresponding detectable feature or sensor on the other of the cap and infusion pump device, to detect one or more of the presence, position or other characteristic of the cap when the cap is aligned or coupled with the infusion pump housing. The detectable feature and sensor may be magnetic, RF, mechanical, optical or any combination.
MOBILE IMAGING MODALITY FOR MEDICAL DEVICES
A drug delivery device monitoring system is provided. The system includes a drug delivery device having a visually-identifiable feature reflecting a state or an indicia of the drug delivery device; an electronic recordation device configured to capture an image of the visually-identifiable feature and generate image data therefrom; and a computing system operable to perform image analysis on the image data to generate interpreted data therefrom. The interpreted data is provided to a stakeholder monitoring the drug delivery device.
Disposable pen needle with re-use prevention features
A pen needle (521) for a drug delivery device (100) includes a hub (511) and a needle (502) fixedly connected to the hub (511). An outer cover (501) removably receives the hub (511) and the needle (502). A locking member (505) locks the hub (511) and the needle (502) in the outer cover (501). The hub (625) may have a colored portion (629) visible to the user to indicate that the needle (623) has been used.
Needle magnetizing arrangement
A needle magnetizing arrangement (1) comprising a controller (4) adapted to generate a first magnetic field (F) for magnetizing a needle (2), and a magnetic field sensor (5) adapted to generate a signal based on a second magnetic field (F.sub.R) of the needle (2).
Needle Cover Assembly
The present invention relates to a needle cover assembly to be used with a medicament delivery device, wherein said needle cover assembly (10) is disposable and comprises a retainer element (50) connectable to the medicament container holder; a hub (16) having a longitudinal axis and comprising a double pointed injection needle (22) with a proximal needle end (24) and a distal needle end (48), wherein the proximal needle end projects a distance from the hub (16) along the longitudinal axis, and a shield (18) covering at least the proximal needle end and a portion of the hub (16). The invention is characterised in that said shield (18) comprises a detachable element (26), that the shield (18) is attached to the hub (16) when said detachable element (26) is attacked to the shield (18), corresponding to an untampered state, and that the shield is released and is telescopically movable in relation to the hub (16) along the longitudinal axis when said detachable element (26) is detached from the shield (18) corresponding to an activated state.

System and method for joint integrity detection
An inspectable joint in a medical device is disclosed that includes at least one medical-grade tube having an end, a medical-grade fitting having at least one joining surface configured to accept the end of the tube, and a joining material disposed between the tube and the joining surface. The joining material includes a first component configured to couple the tube to the fitting and a second component configured to provide observable evidence of the presence of the joining material between the tube and the joining surface.
Safety mechanism for a medicament delivery device and a medicament delivery device comprising the same
The present disclosure relates to a safety mechanism (27) for a medicament delivery device for preventing activation thereof in the event of mechanical shock. The safety mechanism (27) comprises a medicament delivery member sleeve (7), a proximal flange (9) provided at the proximal end of the medicament delivery member sleeve (7), which proximal flange (9) has a first radially flexible arm (9a) extending longitudinally in the distal direction, a housing (3) having a central proximal opening (3a) arranged to receive a distal portion of the medicament delivery member sleeve (7), wherein the medicament delivery member sleeve (7) is axially displaceable inside the housing (3) from an extended position to a retracted position relative to the housing (3), and a cover (5) having a distal opening (5a) forming a channel arranged to receive the medicament delivery member sleeve (7) and the housing (3). The housing (3) has a proximal portion (3b) arranged between the first radially flexible arm (9a) and the outer surface of the medicament delivery member sleeve (7) when the medicament delivery member sleeve (7) is displaced from the extended position towards the retracted position. The channel is dimensioned such that, when the housing (3) is received by the cover (5), there is a radial distance between the inner surface of the cover (5) and the outer surface of the proximal portion (3b) which is less than a radial dimension of the first radially flexible arm (9a), preventing the medicament delivery member sleeve (7) from obtaining its retracted position.
