ELECTRONIC CIGARETTE
An electronic cigarette includes a liquid supply including liquid material, a heater operable to heat the liquid material to a temperature sufficient to vaporize the liquid material and form an aerosol, a wick in communication with the liquid material and in communication with the heater such that the wick delivers the liquid material to the heater, at least one air inlet operable to deliver air to a central air passage upstream of the heater, and a mouth end insert having at least two diverging outlets. The electronic cigarette can also include an air flow diverter which directs incoming air away from a heating zone of the heater.
Systems and Methods for Administering Fluid Compositions
A device for administering fluid compositions includes a housing having a first end with an opening. The housing includes a compartment, proximate to the first end, that is capable of holding a liquid reservoir that is at least partially filled with a fluid. The device includes an air pump positioned within the housing, at a second end. The device includes an actuator positioned between the compartment and the air pump. The actuator includes an extendible piston that is configured to extend laterally toward the compartment. During device operation, the actuator causes the piston to extend towards the liquid reservoir and exert a force on the liquid reservoir. The force causes the fluid to be expelled from the liquid reservoir at the first end. The air pump is configured to atomize the fluid at the first end as it is expelled from the liquid reservoir.
Systems and methods for generating and applying biomimicry tear films
An apparatus for treating dry eye, comprising composition chambers respectively containing a first composition and a second composition, wherein the first composition includes 95%-100% of aqueous substances and the second composition includes 95-100% volume of non-aqueous substances; and an air pump that is fluidically connected to the composition chambers and sequentially generates and propels the mists of the first composition and the second composition to a surface that corresponds to a cornea of an eye. The first mist, including droplets of the one or more aqueous substances forms a first film layer that corresponds to an aqueous layer of an artificial tear film, the second mist has a volume within a range of 0.1-3 microliters, and includes droplets of the one or more non-aqueous substances forms a second film layer that corresponds to a lipid layer of the artificial tear film with a thickness within a range of 10 nm-200 nm.
DEVICES, ASSEMBLIES, AND METHODS FOR DELIVERING AGENTS
A valve assembly that includes an inlet that is in fluid communication with an enclosure of a medical device, an outlet that is in fluid communication with a delivery conduit of the medical device, and a body having a channel that is in fluid communication with a source of fluid. The body is configured to move relative to the inlet and outlet to selectively fluidly couple the channel with the enclosure and delivery conduit. In a first position of the body, the channel is misaligned with at least one of the inlet or the outlet, such that the delivery conduit is not in fluid communication with at least one of the enclosure or the source of fluid. In a second position of the body, the channel is aligned with the inlet and outlet such that the delivery conduit is in fluid communication with the enclosure and the source of fluid.
DEVICES, ASSEMBLIES, AND METHODS FOR DELIVERING AGENTS
A valve assembly for a medical device that includes a body having an inlet that is in fluid communication with a source of fluid, and an outlet that is in fluid communication with a delivery conduit of the medical device. The valve assembly includes a shuttle configured to move within the body between a first and second position to control delivery of fluid from the inlet to the outlet. In the first position, the shuttle is configured to maintain the fluid at a first pressure within the body and seal the outlet from the inlet, such that the delivery conduit is isolated from the fluid at the first pressure. In the second position, the shuttle is configured to maintain the fluid at a second pressure within the body and fluidly couple the outlet to the inlet, such that the delivery conduit receives the fluid at the second pressure.
ELECTRONIC VAPING DEVICE
In one embodiment, the electronic vaping device includes a cartridge and a battery section. The cartridge and the battery section are connectable so as to define an air inlet between a portion of the cartridge and a portion of the battery section.
Aerosol generator with electrical power conducting pins
An aerosol generator has a vibratable plate with apertures therein and an annular piezo which causes movement of the vibratable plate. An annular support member supports the piezo and the vibratable plate. A first electrical power conducting pin engages directly with a first, top, surface of the piezo. A second electrical power conducting pin indirectly conducts electrical power to a second surface of the piezo, by contacting an extension tab of the support member, also on its top side. There is a film of cured epoxy adhesive on the tab, providing excellent gripping force between the pin and the support. The aerosol generator avoids need for soldered joints for electrical contact, and the pins are conveniently mounted parallel to each on the same lateral and top side of the piezo and support member. The pins may have multi-point tips for particularly effective electrical contact.
Nicotine salt with meta-salicylic acid and applications therein
The present disclosure relates generally to the field of nicotine delivery. The disclosure teaches a nicotine meta-salicylate. More specifically, the disclosure teaches a condensation nicotine aerosol where nicotine meta-salicylate is vaporized. This disclosure relates to aerosol nicotine delivery devices. The delivery devices can be activated by actuation mechanisms to vaporize thin films comprising a nicotine meta-salicylate. More particularly, this disclosure relates to thin films of nicotine salt with meta salicylic acid for the treatment of nicotine craving and for effecting smoking cessation.
Inhalation device for the purpose of inhalation of a droplet mist
An inhalation device having a reservoir for storing liquid before being discharged, and a discharge head for dispensing the liquid in droplet mist. The discharge head has a nozzle arrangement for generating the droplet mist and housing on which a discharge channel is provided for use as a respiration piece or for attachment of a separate respiration piece. A main axis of extent of the discharge channel encloses an angle of >0° with a central dispensing direction. In alignment with the central dispensing direction of the nozzle arrangement, either an aperture is provided in the housing through which aperture the droplet mist emerges from the discharge head if it is not sucked into the discharge channel by respiration of the user, or a liquid buffer is provided for receiving the droplet mist if it is not sucked into the discharge channel by respiration of the user.
System for managing inhalant and breath analysis devices
A computer-based system for receiving, analyzing, processing, managing and sending personal health information, and other information in conjunction with use of one or more personal nebulizer or vaporizing devices and personal breath analysis devices. System devices include a personal nebulizer or vaporizing unit with a mouthpiece, which may be detachable and replaceable. The mouthpiece includes an orifice through which vapor is emitted. The substance to be vaporized is contained in an ampoule inserted into the device, where the substance enters an atomization chamber where vaporization is achieved through piezoelectric transducers or atomizers providing sonic or ultrasonic vibration. The substance includes a variety of therapeutic, homeopathic, or naturopathic formulations, remedies, or serums.
