Antimicrobial-containing silicone lubricious coatings
Novel, lubricious antimicrobial coatings for medical devices are disclosed. The coatings provide improved lubricity and durability and are readily applied in coating processes at low temperatures that do not deform the device and preserves the antimicrobial effectiveness of the antimicrobial agent. The present invention is also directed to a novel platinum catalyst for use in such coatings. The catalyst provides for rapid curing, while inhibiting cross-linking at ambient temperatures, thereby improving the production pot life of the coatings.
AEROSOL-GENERATING DEVICE
An aerosol-generating device includes a pump. The pump includes a first pump chamber and a second pump chamber on opposing sides of a separation element. Each of the first pump chamber and the second pump chamber have an inlet valve and an outlet valve configured to establish a pumping direction. The pump also includes a first actuator and a second actuator. The first actuator is associated with the first pump chamber and the second actuator is associated with the second pump chamber. The first actuator and the second actuator are each configured to change a chamber volume of the respective pump chamber. The pump further includes a common inlet, and a common outlet. The common inlet and common outlet are in fluid communication with the first pump chamber and the second pump chamber and are configured to establish a flow direction. The pumping direction is aligned with the flow direction.
HUMAN ANTI-INFLAMMATORY PEPTIDES FOR THE INHALATORY TREATMENT OF INFLAMMATORY PULMONARY ISSUES
The present invention relates to the use of human anti-inflammatory peptides in the inhalatory treatment of inflammatory pulmonary diseases. The invention in particular relates to the use of vasoactive intestinal peptide, C-type natriuretic peptide, B-type natriuretic peptide, pituitary adenylate cyclase-activating peptide, adrenomedullin, alpha-melanocyte stimulating hormone, relaxin and Interferon gamma for said purposes. Advantageous features of an aerosol containing such a human anti-inflammatory peptide and a method for producing said aerosol are disclosed. The present invention further relates to a kit for inhalatory treatment of inflammatory pulmonary diseases. One aspect relates to treatment of CoViD-19 related ARDS.
VIBRATING APERTURE PLATE NEBULIZER
A nebulizer has an aerosol generator, a reservoir, and an aerosol outlet. A piezoelectric vibration generator is on a downstream side of a support washer, and power to the piezo is provided by a spring contact assembly. The assembly has upstanding electrical terminals for contact with electrical supply conductors. There are spring terminals extending around a rim of the spring contact assembly to engage an exposed underside of the washer, and a resilient ridge extending in the upstream direction to engage the underside of the piezo, which itself is on the downstream side of the washer.
PHARMACEUTICAL AGENT, MEDICINAL SOLUTION FOR CLEANING PULMONARY ALVEOLI, AND NEBULIZER
Provided is a pharmaceutical agent for effective prophylaxis and/or treatment of a pathological condition with decreased lung compliance. The pharmaceutical agent for prophylaxis and/or treatment of a pathological condition with decreased lung compliance is characterized by having a polyamine. The polyamine includes at least one of spermine (Spm), spermidine (Spd), and putrescine (Put). The pharmaceutical agent improves lung compliance and ameliorates gas exchange dysfunction, and therefore, can ameliorate pathological conditions such as acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), acute lung injury (ALI), lung diseases caused by dysfunctional endogenous pulmonary alveolar surfactant, multiple organ dysfunction syndrome (MODS), and cardiogenic pulmonary edema.
Systems, devices, and methods including varying viscosity cosmetic dispenser
An apparatus that includes at least one nebulizer that includes a mesh material having a plurality of pores, a vibrating actuator coupled to the nebulizer and configured to produce ultrasonic vibration when energized according to a set energy profile, and a reservoir receiver configured to receive a reservoir that holds a topical formulation, the reservoir being coupled to the nebulizer when received. When the nebulizer is placed in contact with the topical formulation, vibration of the mesh nebulizer by the vibrating actuator, according to the set energy profile, ejects droplets of the topical formulation from the plurality of pores, forming a spray.
HALOTHERAPY MODULE ASSOCIATED WITH SAUNAS
Systems include a receiving port configured to receive a cartridge configured to store a material capable of being aerosolized, a sensor configured to generate one or more measurements based on ambient conditions of a housing, an aerosolizer configured to aerosolize the material in response to receiving a signal, and a controller comprising one or more processors configured to generate the signal provided to the aerosolizer, and further configured to control operation of the aerosolizer via the signal.
Aerosol generator with offset inlet
An aerosol generator with an active liquid container and a nebulization chamber associated therewith, which is connected to an inlet channel for the supply of carrier gas and to an outlet channel for the discharge of carrier gas mixed with aerosol obtained from the active liquid, is intended to enable a particularly good adjustability of the droplet size of the aerosols contained in the discharged carrier gas and thus a use particularly in the context of a transnasal inhalation therapy. For this purpose, the nebulization chamber has a substantially rotationally symmetrical boundary wall, the inlet channel being positioned and oriented in the region of its point of entry into the nebulization chamber in such a way that its longitudinal axis is offset relative to the axis of symmetry of the nebulization chamber in the region of the point of entry and does not intersect the axis of symmetry.
INTRAORAL AEROSOL DELIVERY DEVICE
An electrically-powered inhalation device for delivery of an aerosol to the oropharynx of a user comprises respective proximal and distal portions, the proximal portion including an inlet for a liquid, the distal portion including an aerosol outlet defining a mist-exiting location and a piezo assembly including an ultrasonically vibrable mesh membrane, for producing, upon electrical activation, a mist comprising droplets of the liquid, the mesh membrane defining a mist-generating location; and an intermediate portion disposed distally from the proximal portion and proximally from the distal portion, wherein the distal portion is dimensioned to vertically span the user's oral cavity from tongue to hard-palate when the user's lips and/or teeth are transversely engaged with the intermediate portion, so as to place the mist-exiting location in fluid communication with the user's oropharynx.
PORTABLE NEBULIZER AND VERTICAL-TYPE MEDICINE CONTAINING AND NEBULIZING ASSEMBLY THEREOF
A portable nebulizer and a vertical-type medicine containing and nebulizing assembly thereof are provided. The vertical-type medicine containing and nebulizing assembly includes a medicine storage module, a nebulizing module and an induction module. The nebulizing module includes a nebulizing device and a first conductive structure. The induction module includes a metal induction element disposed in the medicine storage module and a second conductive structure electrically connected to the metal induction element. The medicine storage casing has an inner surrounding area located in the medicine storage space. The metal induction element has an exposed induction portion exposed on the inner surrounding area for receiving a signal generated by the nebulizing device. Therefore, when a predetermined medicinal liquid contained in the medicine storage space is nebulized through the nebulizing device, the signal generated by the nebulizing device can be transmitted to a microprocessor through the induction module.
