ELECTROTHERMAL HEATER MAT
20220411077 · 2022-12-29 ·

In manufacturing an electrothermal heater mat, there is provided a preform which comprises a laminated stack of dielectric layers which are made of thermoplastic material and include a central layer or group of layers which include(s) reinforcement and first and second outer groups of layers which do not include reinforcement. The preform includes a heater element and the preform has a first configuration. The preform is then heated to a temperature (e.g. 180° C.) between the glass-transition temperature of the thermoplastic material and the melting point of the thermoplastic material, and the heated preform is formed into a second configuration which is different to the first configuration so as to produce the heater mat.

A cured object and a method for producing the same are disclosed herein. In some embodiments, the method of producing a cured object includes introducing a resin composition including a resin and magnetic powder into one or more slots of a tubular object, wherein the resin composition includes a resin and a magnetic powder, wherein the tubular object includes a penetration space and an edge region having the one more slots formed therein, and wherein the penetration space and the one or more slots are formed in a longitudinal direction of the tubular object; inserting a solenoid coil into the penetration space of the tubular object; and generating a magnetic field with the solenoid coil to cure the resin present in the one or more slots of the tubular object.

The cured resin object can also have excellent withstand voltage characteristics.

Resin molding method

A resin molding method includes a first step of supplying electricity to and heating a stator coil via a stator terminal in a state that the stator terminal clamped; and a second step of molding an insulating resin at a coil end of the heated stator coil. The first step places the stator terminal on a conducting terminal block in such a state that clamping of the stator terminal by the conducting terminal block and a terminal holding member is released, before supplying electricity to the stator coil, and lifts up and down the conducting terminal block, such that the portion of the stator terminal becomes within a predetermined range.

Fiber reinforced polymer manufacturing

Method of manufacturing a product comprising fiber reinforced polymer material, the method comprising the steps of: providing 10 carbon fibers being embedded in a thermosetting resin, heating 20 the thermosetting resin up to its cure temperature by a current flowing through at least a part of said carbon fibers, letting convert 30 the thermosetting resin to a thermoset polymer. The invention is further directed to a device for performing the method and to a composite sandwich panel structure manufactured according to the method.

A method of producing composites that are capable of being used in various industries, including the aerospace and automotive industries. In particular, the present disclosure relates to methods of curing one or more prepregs and/or a liquid curable composition using one or more self-supporting, nonwoven carbon nanotube sheets comprising substantially non-aligned carbon nanotubes.

COMPOSITE MATERIAL FORMING METHOD

A method for forming a composite material including reinforcing fibers includes connecting end portions of the reinforcing fibers with equipotential materials to form an electroconductive loop including the reinforcing fibers in the composite material before reaction; and applying a magnetic field in a direction intersecting a plane formed by the electroconductive loop.

Mold with thermally conductive flanges

A mold for forming a flange of a wind turbine blade comprising a first flange portion including a plurality of lamina and having a generally planar shape and a second perpendicular flange including a plurality of lamina. A plurality of copper wires are disposed within the lamina for conducting heat delivered from a base portion through the first and second flange portions. The mold is free of fluid conduits with the flange portions moveable relative to the base portion.

Laminate materials with embedded heat-generating multi-compartment microcapsules

A composite material incorporates multi-compartment microcapsules that produce heat when subject to a stimulus such as a compressive force or a magnetic field. The stimulus ruptures an isolating structure within the multi-compartment microcapsule, allowing reactants within the multi-compartment microcapsule to produce heat from an exothermic reaction. In some embodiments, the composite material is a laminate used in the manufacture of multi-layer printed circuit boards (PCBs) and provides heat during the curing process of the multi-layer PCBs to ensure a consistent thermal gradient in the multi-layer product.
