Method and systems for applying stretch films/plastic films at a controlled temperature and/or transfer of electrostatic charge
A system for controlling the temperature of a film before and/or during application, the system including: a heat source for heating a film; and stretch rollers; wherein the heat source heats the film from an ambient temperature to a temperature from about 2° C. to about 40° C. above the ambient temperature, wherein the film is heated prior to or simultaneous to being stretched by the stretch rollers, and wherein the ambient temperature is below 15° C. A system for improving the application of film by transfer of electrostatic charge is also described. The preheating system and/or electrostatic charge system may be used to enhance binding and sealing properties of stretch films used for wrapping palletized products in a reduced temperature environment. Other embodiments of the preheating film system and electrostatic charge system, and methods for their use, are described herein.

Provided is an apparatus for heating plastic parisons, including a transport device or transporter, which transports the plastic parisons at least in sections along a predefined transport path, wherein the transport device or transporter has a plurality of holding devices or holders for holding the plastic parisons, with a heating device or heaters for heating the plastic parisons at least at times, while they are being transported by the transport device or transporters, wherein the apparatus has at least one heat shielding device or heat shield which is suitable and intended to counteract the heating of mouth regions of the plastic parisons.

Method for preparing a membrane from fibril cellulose includes supplying fibril cellulose dispersion on a filter layer, draining liquid from a fibril cellulose dispersion by the effect of reduced pressure through the filter layer that is impermeable to fibrils of the fibril cellulose but permeable to the liquid to form a membrane sheet on the filter fabric, applying heat on the opposite side of the membrane sheet to the membrane sheet while continuing draining of the liquid through the filter layer by pressure difference over the filter layer, and removing the membrane sheet from the filter layer as a freestanding membrane.

A method includes forming a first layer of a disk, the first layer comprising a first material and forming a second layer of the disk by depositing a second material on the first layer. The method further includes irradiating at least the second layer of the disk to cross-link the second material. The first material has a higher melting point than the second material, and the dual-layer disk is configured to be thermoformed into an oral appliance.
TECHNIQUES FOR INTEGRATED PREHEATING AND COATING OF POWDER MATERIAL IN ADDITIVE FABRICATION AND RELATED SYSTEMS AND METHODS
Techniques for improved efficiency of sintering in additive fabrication are described. According to some aspects, mechanisms for depositing and leveling source material are combined with a mechanism for heating the material. In some embodiments, one or more heating elements may be arranged to lead and/or follow a material deposition mechanism such that heat may be applied to the build region in concert with deposition of material. As a result of this technique, the heating and depositing steps may be performed closer together in time and/or heat may be applied more directly to the material than in conventional systems. As a result, greater control over material temperature may be achieved, thereby avoiding excess temperature exposure and subsequent undesirable changes to the material.

The present invention related to an apparatus and method for the manufacturing of beverage capsules. The apparatus can preheat the material used to form the beverage material during the manufacturing process. The material and apparatus are particularly suitable for use in producing single serve beverage capsules from biodegradable materials.
