SCALABLE TOOLING SYSTEM USING HIGHLY PARALLEL CONVECTION HEATING FOR PROCESSING OF HIGH TEMPERATURE COMPOSITE MATERIALS
The present example provides a scalable tooling system using highly parallel convection heating for processing of high temperature composite materials. A single-sided mold is provided with vacuum pressure to cast and consolidate a raw material. The mold is integrally heated by a plurality of discretized heat sources providing a plurality of convection airflow sources to minimize the hot and cold spots inherit to typical convection oven processing. Airflow is arranged by orifices aligned conformally to the mold's profile surface such that rapid heating rates may be achieved while maintaining temperature control along the mold surface.
Method for producing artificial teeth
To provide a method for producing an artificial tooth which is excellent in strength, abrasion resistance, hardness, low water absorption, aesthetic property, functionality, and the like within a short time, especially less than 1 hour, smoothly and simply, without requiring skill using a dental photocurable resin composition. [Solution] Disclosed is a method for producing an artificial tooth, which includes the steps of: (a) accommodating a liquid dental photocurable resin composition containing a radical polymerizable organic compound (A), a filler (B), and a photosensitive radical polymerization initiator (C) in a shaping container having a light permeable bottom face, and irradiating the dental photocurable resin composition in the shaping container with light in a predetermined shape pattern through the light permeable bottom face of the shaping container in accordance with slice data every one layer based on three-dimensional CAD data relating to a tooth to form a cured resin layer having a shape pattern for one layer; (b) lifting up the cured resin layer for one layer formed in the step (a), thereby allowing the liquid dental photocurable resin composition to flow into the space between the lower face of the cured resin layer and the bottom face of the shaping container, and irradiating the dental photocurable resin composition between the lower face of the cured resin layer and the bottom face of the shaping container with light through the light permeable bottom face of the shaping container in accordance with slice data every one layer based on three-dimensional CAD data relating to a tooth to further form a cured resin layer having a shape pattern for one layer; and (c) repeating the operation of the step (b) until the objective artificial tooth is obtained.
Mold with thermally conductive flanges
A mold for forming a flange of a wind turbine blade comprising a first flange portion including a plurality of lamina and having a generally planar shape and a second perpendicular flange including a plurality of lamina. A plurality of copper wires are disposed within the lamina for conducting heat delivered from a base portion through the first and second flange portions. The mold is free of fluid conduits with the flange portions moveable relative to the base portion.
Heating tool
In one aspect, a heating tool includes a heat source having a discharge outlet; and a manifold including an intake conduit configured to releasably connect to the discharge outlet of the heat source and a chamber coupled to the intake conduit having a ventilation path. The chamber includes a diverging portion configured to provide uniform airflow through the ventilation path to provide heating to a surface. In an embodiment, the chamber has a first portion and a second portion configured for assembly and disassembly. A method of curing an aircraft component is provided.
METHOD OF SHAPING A CURED THERMOSETTING RESIN
The present invention relates to a method of shaping a cured thermosetting resin substrate, and more particularly to a method of shaping a cured thermosetting resin using electromagnetic radiation, said method comprises providing a cured thermosetting resin substrate; providing a confined temperature controlling environment; placing the cured thermosetting resin substrate in the confined temperature controlling environment; providing a source of electromagnetic radiation; irradiating the cured thermosetting resin substrate in the confined temperature controlling environment; and shaping the irradiated thermosetting resin substrate.
MOLDING SYSTEMS AND RELATED METHODS
In one embodiment, a system for conditioning a preform for molding includes a heating cavity for receiving the preform, a heater configured to heat a gas, and a blower configured to force the gas heated by the heater into the heating cavity. In another embodiment, a method of conditioning a preform for molding includes positioning the preform in a heating cavity and forcing a heated gas into the heating cavity onto an exterior surface of the preform.
MOLDING SYSTEMS AND RELATED METHODS
A system for molding an object includes an articulated mold having an axis and a plurality of mold portions configured to collectively define a molding cavity for shaping the object when arranged in respective molding positions. The system includes a plurality of actuators, each operatively coupled to a respective mold portion and configured to move the respective mold portion along the axis from the respective molding position toward a respective ejecting position for releasing the object. The system includes a controller in communication with each of the plurality of actuators and configured to independently activate each of the plurality of actuators such that one of the plurality of mold portions moves along the axis from the respective molding position toward the respective ejecting position while at least one other of the plurality of mold portions remains stationary relative to the object in order to at least partially support the object.
