A method and an apparatus for forming a down feather sheet is described and wherein a mixture of down feathers and a binder material is fused together by injecting hot air under pressure into the mixture. A plurality of hot air injection needles are caused to penetrate into a layer of the mixture as it is conveyed along a conveyor and to release hot air at a temperature sufficient to cause the binder material to fuse together and to the down causing the down and the binder material to be trapped into the layer. The displacement of the hot air injection mechanism is synchronized to the conveying speed and the projection of the needles into the layer is adjusted to the thickness of the layer being conveyed.

The method and system generally includes inserting a string inside the first pipe between a first end and a second end, inserting the string through a liner positioning tool, attaching a first end of the string to the liner, and then pulling the liner into the first pipe with the first string such that the liner extends from the first end to the second end of the pipe. One end of the string may be attached to the liner by a pulling insert, which may be a threaded insert that screws into an end of the liner, and which may further include a fluid passage to allow hot water or other fluid to flow through the insert while the string is connected to it.

Disclosed here is an autoclave system for curing a part. The autoclave includes a gas recirculation system, at least partially external to a vessel pf the autoclave system and fluidly coupleable to the vessel such that gas contained in the vessel is delivered to the gas recirculation system, passed through the gas recirculation system, and recirculated back into the vessel. The autoclave system also comprises at least one mold core, located within the vessel. The mold core comprises a conduit extending through the mold core and the mold core is configured to define a shape of the part. The gas delivered to the gas recirculation system from the vessel is gas received directly from the conduit of the mold core.

Molding apparatus and process

A molding process (100) comprising the step of inserting an uncured blank (102) in a mold cavity (14) formed in a mold system, the uncured blank including fiber and uncured binder, transferring heat from the mold system to a cool pressurized gas (108) to establish a hot pressurized gas, injecting the hot pressurized gas into the mold cavity (110), and transferring heat (112) from the hot pressurized gas to the uncured blank to cause the uncured binder to cure and establish a cured product (114).

A molding process (100) comprising the step of inserting an uncured blank (102) in a mold cavity (14) formed in a mold system, the uncured blank including fiber and uncured binder, transferring heat from the mold system to a cool pressurized gas (108) to establish a hot pressurized gas, injecting the hot pressurized gas into the mold cavity (110), and transferring heat (112) from the hot pressurized gas to the uncured blank to cause the uncured binder to cure and establish a cured product (114).
