Complex Shaped 3D Objects Fabrication
A method and apparatus for manufacturing of 3D objects. The apparatus includes a number of material deposition heads terminated by nozzles, of which one or two nozzles are configured to deposit a first material to form a first and second pattern layers. The pattern layers are laterally shifted from each other such that when the first and second pattern layers are deposited, a space (empty volume) with a varying cross section is formed. In some examples, two or more nozzles could be used to deposit the corresponding first and second pattern layers. The nozzles could move independent of each other.
Methods and apparatus for stabilization of surfaces
Various embodiments provide surface compositions and methods for porous, flexible, and durable surfaces that may stabilize native soil, provide substantially uniform drainage of moisture, and provide a barrier between the native soil, vegetation, and other compositions disposed over the surface composition, such as sand and/or soil. The compositions and methods may comprise utilizing a liquid coating composition, liquid binder, and/or antimicrobial composition in combination with a particulate material configured to provide a desired pore size, elasticity, compression, and/or stability to the surface composition. Various embodiments of the surface composition may form a prefabricated flexible bunker liner for application to the native soil in a golf course bunker beneath sand.
Method of forming a dental appliance
Methods of forming dental appliances. The methods may include partially curing a prepolymer mixture in a first mold to form a partially cured polymer mixture. The first mold may have an internal cavity that is shaped to provide the partially cured polymer mixture with a first shape having a channel in accordance with a dental arch. The first shape may have a greater thickness at locations corresponding to where a gingival line of the dental appliance will be formed compared to a thickness at occlusal surfaces of the dental appliance. The methods may include modifying the first shape of the partially cured polymer mixture to form a shell having cavities shaped to receive teeth. The methods may also include fully curing the shell by exposing the partially cured polymer mixture to energy until the partially cured polymer mixture thermosets.
Method and device for producing an optical coupling element made of elastomer
A method for producing an optical coupling element made of elastomer includes filling a free-flowing elastomer formulation or its constituents into a mold so as to produce a flat sheet whose thickness is adapted to a thickness of the optical coupling element that is to be produced. The elastomer formulation or its constituents is cured to form an inherently stable elastomer. Individual optical coupling elements are cut out of the flat sheet.
PREPARING AND DISPENSING POLYMER MATERIALS AND PRODUCING POLYMER ARTICLES THEREFROM
An example system is used to mix components and dispense a mixture for forming a thiol-ene polymer article. The system includes a first reservoir containing a first component of the thiol-ene polymer including a first polymerizable compound, and a second reservoir containing a second component of the thiol-ene polymer including a second polymerizable compound. The system also includes a mixing vessel having a mixing chamber, a delivery manifold providing a conduit for fluid from the first and second reservoirs to the mixing vessel, and a dispensing manifold providing a conduit for fluid from the mixing vessel. The system also includes a control module programmed to control the operation of the system.
STRETCHABLE SURFACES WITH PROGRAMMABLE TEXTURE
The present disclosure may be embodied as a method for creating a restriction pattern from a mask material having a strain (.sub.mask) an for mapping elastomeric membrane having a strain (.sub.membrane) into a target 3D shape. The method may include discretizing the target 3D shape into a plurality of radial segments, and a radial strain (.sub.r) is determined for each radial position (r) on each radial segment of the plurality of radial segments. A restriction pattern is determined, wherein the restriction pattern comprises a quantity of mask material for each position r to provide a composite strain (.sub.mask,.sub.silicone). In some embodiments, the method further includes depositing a first membrane layer into a mold and placing mask material into the first membrane layer according to the determined restriction pattern. The first membrane layer is cured.
POLYMERIZABLE COMPOSITION FOR OPTICAL MATERIAL AND OPTICAL MATERIAL AND PLASTIC LENS OBTAINABLE FROM SAME COMPOSITION
A polymerizable composition for an optical material according to the present invention includes one or two or more compounds selected from the group consisting of component (A): an ester compound having a specific structure and component (B): an ether compound having a specific structure, and a polymerizable compound.
PROCESS FOR PRODUCING PLASTIC LENS AND APPARATUS FOR PRODUCING PLASTIC LENS
A process for producing a plastic lens includes a step of stirring and mixing a solution including a polymerization reactive compound in a preparation tank; a step of transferring the polymerizable composition obtained in the step from the preparation tank to a lens casting mold; a step of curing the polymerizable composition; and a step of obtaining a plastic lens molded product by separating the obtained resin from the lens casting mold. The step of transferring the polymerizable composition includes a step of re-mixing the polymerizable composition discharged from the preparation tank and injecting the polymerizable composition into the lens casting mold.
