System and Method for Complex Objects Molding
20200180014 · 2020-06-11 ·

A molding system and method, allowing for the repeated use of the same molding insert for purposes of elaborate objects molding is described. The proposed method allows for multiple moldings of intricate shapes and curvatures improving the mass production of the jewelry moldings. During the process, the raw molding material is squeezed through the narrow opening inside the mold form under pressure. As the molding material enters the mold form, it is coated with a coating fluid. After the curing, the molding material could be easily removed through a narrow cavity opening, promptly reassembling back to the shape of the insert for continuous use in the next steps of the molding procedure.

System and method for affixing reference dots with respect to modeling impression materials

A holder to facilitate optical data acquisition includes a float portion that extends from a handle portion to at least partially support the handle portion with respect to a surface of the liquid modeling impression material. A method of optical data acquisition includes communicating a liquid modeling impression material into a non-line of sight feature of a workpiece and immersing a portion of a holder into the liquid modeling impression material.

A plurality of molded cover members are manufactured by first singulating a single sheet of cover material, such as glass, into a plurality of separate, discrete cover members, placing the cover members in spaced-apart positions on a releaseable carrier, and applying a molded material to the perimeter of each cover member. The molded material can be applied by a blanket molding technique whereby gaps between adjacent cover members are filled, and then the cover members are singulated, leaving a portion of the cover material on the perimeter of each cover member, and then the singulated, molded cover members are released from the releasable carrier. Alternatively, the molded material is applied by a patterned molding technique whereby molding material is applied to the perimeter of each cover member without fully filling the gaps between adjacent cover members, and then the molded cover members are released from the releasable carrier.

The present application relates to lubricant-infused molds such as omniphobic lubricant-infused molds and uses thereof, for example, in processes for fabricating molded objects such as microfluidics devices. Such processes can comprise coating a mold with a layer comprising a lubricant-tethering group to obtain a tether-coated mold, depositing a lubricant on the tether-coated mold to obtain a lubricant-infused mold (LIM), depositing a molded object precursor into the LIM and solidifying to obtain the molded object, and removing the molded object from the LIM.

Production method of mold, manufacturing method of pattern sheet, production method of electroform, production method of mold using electroform, and original

Provided are a production method of a mold, a manufacturing method of a pattern sheet, a production method of an electroform, a production method of a mold using an electroform, and an original. The production method includes: preparing an original having an inclined portion which is formed in an enclosed shape on an outer peripheral portion of a protruding pattern formed at a center portion on a base and gradually increases in thickness from inside toward outside, and a thermoplastic resin sheet; and forming a recessed pattern on the thermoplastic resin sheet by pressing the original which is heated against the thermoplastic resin sheet at a position where a flat surface of the original and a surface of the thermoplastic resin sheet are separated from each other, cooling the original in the state where the original is pressed, and separating the original from the thermoplastic resin sheet.
