FLUID FLOW CONTROL OF VACUUM MOUNTING
Systems and methods for mounting of material samples via a vacuum system and controlling fluid flow through a tube of the vacuum system are disclosed. In some examples, the vacuum system may be a castable and/or cold mounting vacuum system that facilitates mounting and/or encapsulation of material samples in epoxy resin under low, vacuum, and/or near vacuum pressure. In some examples, the vacuum system may comprise a flow control device configured to control epoxy flow through a dispensing tube that connects to a hollow vacuum chamber. In some examples, the vacuum chamber may have an opening defined by a rim sandwiched between upper and lower portions of a sealing ring. A movable lid may be configured to press down on the upper portion of the sealing ring when in a closed position, so as to seal the opening.
VACUUM SYSTEMS FOR EPOXY MOUNTING OF MATERIAL SAMPLES
Vacuum systems for epoxy mounting of material samples are disclosed. In some examples, a vacuum system may be a castable and/or cold mounting vacuum system that facilitates mounting and/or encapsulation of material samples in epoxy resin under low, vacuum, and/or near vacuum pressure. In some examples, the vacuum system may comprise a flow control device configured to control epoxy flow through a dispensing tube that connects to a hollow vacuum chamber. In some examples, the vacuum chamber may have an opening encircled by a rim sandwiched between upper and lower portions of a sealing ring. A movable lid may be configured to press down on the upper portion of the sealing ring when in a closed position, so as to seal the opening.
VACUUM INJECTION MOLDING FOR OPTOELECTRONIC MODULES
Manufacturing optoelectronic modules includes supporting a printed circuit board substrate (27) on a first vacuum injection tool (24). The printed circuit board substrate (27) has at least one optoelectronic component mounted thereon and has a solder mask (40) on a surface (46) facing away from the first vacuum injection tool (24). The method includes causing the first vacuum injection tool (24) and a second vacuum injection tool (22) to be brought closer to one another such that a surface (46) of the second vacuum injection tool (22) is in contact with the solder mask (40). Subsequently, a first epoxy (100, 20) is provided, using a vacuum injection technique, in spaces (104) between the upper tool (22) and the solder mask (40).

The method for manufacturing an optical device 1 in which an optical member 2 and a transparent panel 4 are bonded together via a cured resin layer 3 includes: a step of forming, on one of the optical member 2 and the transparent panel 4, a wall 12 surrounding a forming region for the cured resin layer 3 and having at least one opening 13; a step of laminating the optical member 2 and the transparent panel 4 to form a laminated body 10 in which a resin filling space 14 surrounded by the wall 12 is formed between the optical member 2 and the transparent panel 4; a step of filling the resin filling space 14 of the laminated body 10 with a photocurable resin composition 30; and a step of curing the photocurable resin composition 30 to form the cured resin layer 3.

A method for mounting functional elements in a lens includes mounting the functional elements on a foil, applying a closed contour alignment surface of an alignment tool having a central opening surrounded by the closed contour on the foil portion opposite to the mounted function elements, applying underpressure on the central opening to maintain the foil portion with the mounted functional elements on the alignment tool, cutting a flap including the foil portion and supporting the functional elements out of the foil, positioning and aligning the flap through actuator, fixing the position of the flap against the adjacent foil surface, embedding the foil with the mounted functional elements in a predetermined distance to the front surface of a mould, and casting and curing the lens with the embedded foil.

An additive manufacturing method includes removing material from a sheet to create a plurality of individual layer segments formed, placing at least two first layer segments adjacent to each other at the same height to form a first layer having a hollow interior, the at least two first layer segments defining a first portion of an exterior of a part, and placing at least one second layer segment above the at least two first layer segments to form a second layer having a hollow interior, the at least one second layer segment defining a second portion of the exterior of the part. The method includes attaching the first layer to the second layer and removing material from the first layer and from the second layer to form the part having a continuous surface that extends along the first layer and the second layer.

The method may include providing an amount of a first solid material upstream of a first mold cavity; prior to the first solid material entering the first mold cavity, applying ultrasonic energy to the first solid material to melt the first solid material into a first molten material; flowing the first molten material into the first mold cavity; allowing the first molten material to harden within the first mold cavity to form a head plate comprising micro-sized features; forming a body from a second material, the body including a handle portion and a head portion; and coupling the head plate to the head portion of the body.

The method for manufacturing a transdermal absorption sheet includes a step of forming a drug layer (110) on needle-like recess portions (42) of a mold (50) having the needle-like recess portions (42), a step of supplying a polymer layer forming solution (112) to the inside of a step portion (52) of the mold (50), a step of drying the polymer layer forming solution (112) so as to form a polymer layer (114) and a transdermal absorption sheet (120), and a step of peeling off the transdermal absorption sheet (120) from the mold (50). In the step of peeling off, pressing force is applied to a part of the step portion (52) in a second direction (B) opposite to a first direction (A) in which the transdermal absorption sheet (120) is released from the mold (50), and the transdermal absorption sheet (120) is aspirated with a vacuum suction pad (160) from a side opposite to the mold (50) so that the transdermal absorption sheet (120) is peeled off from the mold (50) in the first direction (A).
