A method for manufacturing an interior lining part, includes producing a skin; placing the skin in a foaming mold with a support layer; foaming an intermediate layer; cutting out an area of the skin producing a cutout area of the skin; placing a piece of adhesive tape or film in the cutout area, the piece of adhesive tape or film being placed in between the skin and the intermediate foam layer; and placing an insert in the cut out area of the skin. A method for manufacturing an interior lining part, includes producing a skin by rotational molding; placing a piece of adhesive tape or film in the cutout area, the piece of adhesive tape or film being placed in between the skin and the intermediate foam layer; placing the skin in a foaming mold with a support layer; foaming an intermediate layer; cutting out an area of the skin producing a cutout area of the skin; and placing an insert in the cut out area of the skin.

Methods for determining mold replacement timing in slush mold processing

In embodiments described herein, it may be determined when to replace a degraded slush mold with a non-degraded slush mold by a method that may comprise monitoring a sample media while repeatedly contacting a surface of the sample media with an abrasive material to determine the number of contactings required to reduce a grain height of the surface of the sample media to a threshold grain height. The repeated contactings of the abrasive solution with the surface of the sample media may reduce the grain height of the sample media. The surface of the sample media may comprise a material substantially identical to the material of at least a portion of a forming surface of the slush mold.

Provided is a vinyl chloride resin composition with which color tone variation caused by molding temperature difference is inhibited and that is capable of forming a vinyl chloride resin molded product having few brown spots. The vinyl chloride resin composition contains a vinyl chloride resin, a plasticizer, a uracil compound, zinc acetylacetonate, and a fatty acid metal salt other than a fatty acid zinc salt. The content of the zinc acetylacetonate is not less than 0.5 times the content of the uracil compound, and the content of the fatty acid metal salt is not less than 1.6 times the content of the zinc acetylacetonate. The vinyl chloride resin composition is preferably used in powder molding.

FABRICATION OF AN ORTHODONTIC ALIGNER FROM A NEGATIVE MOLD DESIGNED BY A COMPUTATIONAL DEVICE

Provided is a method in which a computational device generates a design of a negative mold of teeth. The negative mold of the teeth is fabricated from the design of the negative mold. An aligner is formed using the fabricated negative mold. Provided also is a negative mold of teeth for fabricating a positive model of the teeth for an aligner. The negative mold comprises a tooth surface, and an identity tracking entity coupled to the tooth surface to provide identification.

VEHICLE INTERIOR PANEL WITH BACKING LAYER
20180304599 · 2018-10-25 ·

A vehicle interior panel includes a decorative skin layer and a backing layer. The backing layer can include a barrier material that helps prevent outgassing of a plasticizer of the decorative skin layer in a direction toward an underlying substrate of the panel. The backing layer can be formed by vacuum coating and/or formed while a slush molded layer remains on a slush molding tool surface on which it was formed. In some cases, a slush molding tool thus finds new uses in a vacuum coating process or in some other process apart from slush molding.
