A hub device configured to enable wireless communication between portable medical devices and an external device, where the hub device has a radio transceiver device configured to receive portable medical device data from each portable medical device and configured to transmit received portable medical device data to the external device, an energy storage unit configured to power the radio transceiver device, and an energy harvesting circuit configured to harvest radio frequency energy to charge the energy storage unit, wherein the hub device is configured to communicate with the portable medical devices using a protocol that for each portable medical device enables a unique portable medical device identifier to be included in the portable medical device data, and wherein the hub device has processing circuitry configured to establish a communications link with a portable medical device if the processing circuitry confirms recognition of the unique portable medical device identifier received from the portable medical device.

Droplet delivery device with push ejection

A droplet delivery device includes a housing with a mouthpiece port or outlet from a nasal device for releasing fluid droplets, a fluid reservoir, and an ejector bracket having a membrane positioned between a mesh with a plurality of openings and a vibrating member that is coupled to an electronic transducer, such as an ultrasonic transducer. The transducer vibrates the vibrating member which causes the membrane to push fluid supplied by the reservoir through the mesh to generate droplets in an ejected stream released through the outlet.

Provided herein are pharmaceutical compositions, kits comprising pharmaceutical compositions, methods of treating and preventing disease, and methods of making compositions and kits described herein. The pharmaceutical compositions described herein are powdery pharmaceutical compositions. The powdery pharmaceutical compositions can be administered by an inhaler device described herein.

Polyester polymer compositions

A fiber reinforced polyester polymer composition is disclosed that contains at least one tribological modifier. The tribological modifier may comprise an ultra-high molecular weight silicone alone or in combination with polyytetrafluoroethylene particles. The composition not only has excellent tensile properties but also can produce a low friction surface.

INHALER SYSTEM

Provided is a system comprising a plurality of inhalers that each include a processor configured to determine a value of a usage parameter relating to use of the respective first inhaler, encrypt data based on the value, and transmit the encrypted data. At least two of the inhalers include different medicament, such as a rescue medicament and a maintenance medicament. The system includes an external device that includes a processor configured to distinguish between the encrypted data of each respective inhaler, determine respective usage information relating to each of the distinct types of medicament based on the respective encrypted data, and control a user interface (e.g., of the external device) to communicate the usage information related to each inhaler and/or each respective type of medicament.

A personal vapor inhaling unit is disclosed. An electronic flameless vapor inhaler unit that may simulate a cigarette has a cavity that receives a cartridge in the distal end of the inhaler unit. The cartridge brings a substance to be vaporized in contact with a wick. When the unit is activated, and the user provides suction, the substance to be vaporized is drawn out of the cartridge, through the wick, and is atomized by the wick into a cavity containing a heating element. The heating element vaporizes the atomized substance. The vapors then continue to be pulled by the user through a mouthpiece and mouthpiece cover where they may be inhaled.

DRUG DELIVERY DEVICE WITH ELECTRONICS

A system may include a mobile application residing on an external device and an inhalation device. The inhalation device may include a mouthpiece, a mouthpiece cover, medicament, and an electronics module comprising a processor. The inhalation device may be configured to both prepare a dose of medicament for delivery to a user and cause the processor to transition between power states when the mouthpiece cover is moved from a closed position to an open position to expose the mouthpiece. The electronics module or the mobile application may be configured to generate usage events based on usage of the inhalation device by the user. The electronics module may also include a pressure sensor, and the electronics module or the mobile application may be configured to determine whether a usage event is a good inhalation event, a fair inhalation event, or a no inhalation event based on feedback from the pressure sensor.
