Method for integrating a dispensable light transmissible aperture in the cap of a thin light sensor module
A method of making a light sensor module includes connecting a light sensing circuit to an interconnect on a substrate, and forming a cap. The cap is formed by producing a cap substrate from material opaque to light to have an opening formed therein, placing the cap substrate top-face down, dispensing a light transmissible material into the opening, compressing the light transmissible material using a hot tool to thereby cause the light transmissible material to fully flow into the opening to form at a light transmissible aperture, and placing the cap substrate into a curing environment. A bonding material is dispensed onto the substrate. The cap is picked up and placed onto the substrate positioned such that the light transmissible aperture is aligned with the light sensing circuit, with the bonding material bonding the cap to the substrate to thereby form the light sensor module.
Polymeric stent and methods of manufacturing the same
A method of manufacturing a polymeric stent by forming a pattern on a polymer tube with a laser, where the pattern formed on the polymer tube comprises a plurality of repeating units comprising a plurality of unit cells, each having a V-shaped configuration and polymeric stents formed by the methods. The pattern may be formed on the polymer tube (e.g., polylactic acid tube) using a second harmonic generator laser in which a wavelength ranging from 940 nm to 1552 nm is converted.

Device for shaping a workpiece
A device for shaping a workpiece is provided. The device includes at least one first and one second component between which the workpiece to be shaped can be molded under the effect of heat. The design and/or the material properties of the first and/or the second component are selected such that the component's thermal expansion is different in different directions.
APPARATUS FOR FORMING PLASTIC FUEL TANK FOR VEHICLE
Disclosed is an apparatus for forming a plastic fuel tank for a vehicle, wherein when a parison is formed into semi-finished products having a shape of the fuel tank, the semi-finished products are formed by press forming using first and second molds and an intermediate mold. The semi-finished products are formed without using a blow molding process.
Method of manufacturing fiber substrate and method of manufacturing resin rotator
There is little fluctuation in amount of short fibers among individual products of fiber substrate. No damage is caused to a mold for the fiber substrate. Continuous production of the fiber substrates is possible. A method of manufacturing a fiber substrate includes the steps of: preparing slurry by dispersing short fibers in a dispersion medium; pouring the slurry into a cylindrical mold from above the cylindrical mold, the slurry being directed to a slurry diffusion member disposed in the center of the cylindrical mold and having an upward pointing conical or pyramidal shape; pouring the dispersion medium or water onto the slurry diffusion member from above the slurry diffusion member to cause the short fibers adhering to the slurry diffusion member to fall down, after the step of pouring the slurry; and discharging the dispersion medium from the cylindrical mold to accumulate the short fibers in the cylindrical mold to obtain a fiber aggregate.
Elastomer strip design for torsional vibration dampers and torsional vibration dampers having same
Elastomer members for a torsional vibration damper, methods of making the same, and torsional vibration dampers having the elastomer members are disclosed. The elastomer members have a first major surface and an opposing second major surface with opposing side joining the first major surface to the second major surface, have a median sagittal plane extending parallel to the first major surface and the second major surface, and a transverse plane perpendicular to the median sagittal plane. In a cross-sectional geometry in a plane bisecting the median sagittal plane and the transverse plane, a thickness of the elastomer member changes along the median sagittal plane in a direction parallel to the transverse plane with a first thickness at both opposing sides and a second thickness at the transverse plane, where the second thickness is greater than the first thicknesses.
Compression molded silicone ring
A method of manufacturing a silicone ring consisting of two outer-band halves formed by compression silicone-molding in a first mold and an inner-band formed by placing half of the outer-bands of the ring in a second mold, placing a spacer-insert mold over the second mold, inserting a silicone rubber in the cavities of a spacer-insert mold, inserting the remaining outer-band halves into a fourth mold, inserting the three molds into a compression chamber to vulcanize the outer-band halves and the inner-band together, wherein the first and second outer-bands form a complete ring, and a symmetrical inner-band is formed in between the first and second outer-band halves.
FOOD CONTAINER AND METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR MANUFACTURING FOOD CONTAINERS
A pressware product includes a top piece and a bottom piece. The top piece includes a planar central portion, a sidewall extending from the central planar portion, and a flange extending horizontally from the sidewall. The flange includes a slot and a radially extending top groove. The bottom piece cooperatively defines an inner space with the top piece. The bottom piece includes a planar central portion, a sidewall extending from the central planar portion, and a flange extending horizontally from the sidewall. The flange includes a locking flap configured to engage the slot of the top piece and a radially extending bottom groove. The radially extending bottom groove cooperatively defines a channel with the top groove so that the channel is in fluid communication with the inner space.
EARTIP, MOLD DEVICE FOR MANUFACTURING THE EARTIP, AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING THE EARTIP
An eartip, mold device for manufacturing the eartip, and method of manufacturing the eartip are introduced, characterized by forming an upper bevel-portion with upper and lower molds of a first mold unit, placing the upper bevel-portion in an upper bevel receiving cavity of a second mold unit, forming a lower bevel-portion with a lower bevel cavity, and joining the upper and lower bevel-portions to form an eartip. The top of the lower hollow-cored guiding tube extends to form a buffer portion which connects and communicates with the upper hollow-cored guiding tube. The upper and lower bevel-portions are made of silicone of different rigidity. The upper bevel-portion thus made is soft enough to reach a user's ear canal deeply. The lower bevel-portion thus made is rigid enough to close the ear canal. An annular buffer cavity is inwardly, concavely formed at the bottom of the lower bevel cavity.
