DRUG DOSE CARTRIDGE FOR AN INHALER DEVICE
Devices and methods are described for preparing, managing, and/or administering metered doses of substances for vaporized administration. In some embodiments, dose cartridges comprising at least one botanical substance include a heating element integrated into the cartridge in close contact with the botanical substance. In some embodiments, cartridge-mounted doses are stored in a magazine, optionally in carousel form, before use. Transport of a cartridge from a magazine to an electrically operated vaporizing chamber which activates the heating element is provided by a mechanical pickup means.
Method for administering an inhalable compound
A method may include dispensing a dose of an inhalable compound according to a dosing instruction set; and maintaining a hands-free article for dispensing the inhalable compound in an operable dispensing position.
Fluid or powdery product dispensing device
A dispenser device, including an outlet, air expeller including a piston that slides in an air chamber between rest position and dispensing positions, and a reservoir containing a dose composition. The reservoir includes an air inlet connected to the air expeller, and a composition outlet connected to the outlet, the air inlet including a composition retainer member, and the composition outlet being closed by a closure element force fitted in the composition outlet of the reservoir. A mechanical opening system co-operates with the closure element to expel it from its closed position while the device is actuated. The piston, when in its rest position, co-operates in non-airtight manner with the air chamber so that the air chamber communicates with the atmosphere. The piston includes an inner lip co-operating with a cylindrical surface, the cylindrical surface including fluting co-operating in non-airtight manner with the inner lip in the rest position.
DRY POWDER INHALER FOR PULMONARY OR NASAL DELIVERY
A dry powder inhaler (1) has a chamber (12) for housing a capsule and an inhalation channel (22), the chamber (12) is shaped in order to determine an agitated motion of the capsule in the chamber (12) during an inhalation of a user, the inhaler (1) comprises a capsule-piercing mechanism (30) arranged to pierce a capsule in the chamber (12) and a monitoring system (40) comprising an accelerometer (42) arranged on a printed circuit board (48) in order to measure mechanical oscillations determined at least by the agitated motion and by a flow of air through the chamber (12) and/or inhalation channel (22); a detection unit (44) arranged to detect an activation of the capsule-piercing mechanism (30); and an electronic processing unit (46) configured to receive signals from the detection unit (44) and from the accelerometer (42). Reception of a signal from the detection unit (44) triggers processing of signals from the accelerometer (42) by the electronic processing unit (46) in order to generate inhalation data.
Inhaler article with occluded airflow element
An inhaler article includes a tubular housing defining a holder body extending along a longitudinal axis from a mouthpiece end to a consumable receiving end. The holder body includes an inner tube extending along the longitudinal axis and within the tubular housing from a tube intake end to a tube exhaust end. The tube intake end is proximate the consumable receiving end. The inner tube defines an air flow lumen with two or more air flow apertures extending through a wall of the inner tube. An air blocking feature is positioned in the air flow lumen and between two of the air flow apertures. A vibration inducing element disposed on the inner tube proximate to the tube exhaust end or the tube intake end, the vibration inducing element comprises an aperture through the wall of the inner tube and having a tapered or angled downstream aperture edge.
Dry Powder Inhaler
A dry powder inhaler including replaceable cartridges containing a dry powder for local or systemic delivery through the pulmonary tract and lungs is disclosed. The inhalers are used with inhalable dry powders, including medicament formulations comprising active agents for local or systemic delivery and for the treatment of diseases such as, pulmonary hypertension, cardiovascular disease, anaphylaxis, diabetes, obesity, cancer, and other diseases, or symptoms associated with these and other diseases, such as nausea, vomiting, pain and inflammation.
Powder inhaler devices
An improved inhalation device is provided for facilitating inhalation by a patient of powder medicaments contained in a receptacle. The inhalation device includes a staple assembly comprising a plunger and staple that are securely and robustly coupled to one another. Embodiments of the inhalation device have a cap that prevents or reduces the amount of dust and grime entering into the device. The cap is additionally configured to prevent or reduce inadvertent and unintentional operation of the device. The body portion and first casing portion of certain embodiments of the inhalation device are sealably coupled, restricting or reducing undesirable flow pathways that have an adverse effect on the operation of the device.
Smoke-free cigarette, cigar or pipe
The invention relates to a smokeless cigarette, cigar, or pipe having at least one depot (10) for storing and for defined release due to external heat input of nicotine and/or compound comprising nicotine to an airflow to be guided through the depot (10). According to the invention the depot (10) comprises at least one heat transfer segment (16) for targeted heat input for defined release of the nicotine and/or nicotine compound to the airflow.
Drug solution tank and drug solution pack for ultrasonic inhaler
A drug solution tank of the present invention is a drug solution tank for an ultrasonic inhaler, including a drug solution reservoir portion having an upper edge that surrounds an opening and a bottom portion formed so as to protrude downward, a flange portion formed so as to extend outward from the upper edge of the drug solution reservoir portion, and a leg portion that is continuous with the outer perimeter or lower surface of the flange portion, is formed so as to surround the drug solution reservoir portion, and extends downward past the bottom portion of the drug solution reservoir portion.
Delivery device with cantilever structure and associated method of use
A delivery device for use in administering a dry powder to a biological subject's airway is provided. The device comprises (a) a housing having an inlet in fluid communication with an outlet for delivering a flow of gas to the subject's airway; and (b) one or more cantilever structures located within the housing. Vibration of the one or more cantilever structures facilitates entry of the dry powder into the flow of gas, such that the dry powder can be delivered by the flow of gas through the outlet to the subject's airway. Also provided is a container for releasably storing a particulate composition, the container comprising a shell sealed by a seal in which the particulate composition is stored, wherein a puncturing device for rupturing the seal to release the particulate composition is housed within the shell. Further provided are associated methods for administering dry powder using the delivery device and/or container.
